Cowboys DE Kyle Wilber has gained 12 pounds and now weighs 255.
Wilber is bulking up as he prepares to transition from 3-4 outside linebacker to 4-3 defensive end in the Cowboys' new defense. As he enters his second year, Wilber is currently the top backup behind Anthony Spencer and DeMarcus Ware.

The Cowboys are moving Kyle Wilber to defensive end.
Wilber, a fourth-round pick last year, was expected to compete for one of the outside linebacker spots in the new 4-3 defense this year, but the Cowboys like his 6-foot-4, 249-pound frame better at end. Wilber racked up just five tackles in ten games as a rookie, playing 16 snaps on defense.

The Cowboys are expected to give 2012 fourth-round pick Kyle Wilber a chance to be their starting strong-side linebacker.
Dallas has a need at SAM in the new 4-3, and Wilber is considered the favorite over Alex Albright. The Cowboys won't add to this position in free agency, but could in the draft. Wilber was a stand-up defensive end at Wake Forest. He would probably be a two-down player, replaced by a defensive back in the nickel.

According to ESPN Dallas, the Cowboys are "looking into" making OLB Kyle Wilber DE DeMarcus Ware's backup in the Cowboys' new 4-3 defense.
Drafted as a SAM linebacker, Wilber was a stand-up end in college. Wilber played just 16 snaps on defense last season after missing the majority of camp with a broken thumb. He'd be a cheap, unproven backup for the cap-strapped Cowboys, but backing up Ware — who's never missed a game — is one place Dallas can afford to go cheap and unproven.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Tony Romo (back surgery) "probably" won't be ready for minicamp.
Romo said earlier Tuesday he was optimistic he'd be ready for June's minicamp, but Rapoport reports the Cowboys are "fine bringing Romo back slowly." They have no reason to rush their franchise signal caller, who should be ready well before training camp.

Cowboys signed fifth-round RB Joseph Randle to a four-year contract.
The Cowboys have very high hopes for Randle, despite the fact that he'll miss all pre-training camp activities due to offseason thumb surgery. An adept pass catcher, Randle does little else well. On tape, it was evident his production was spiked by Oklahoma State's wide-open offense in the defense-deficient Big 12.

"It won't keep him out of training camp, but will limit him during (offseason) training," owner/GM Jerry Jones said. With a $1.2 million base salary, Vickers is squarely on the roster bubble.

Dez Bryant says he's "found (himself)," and is "comfortable" with his life.
"I wish it could've been a couple years back, but I had to go through a couple of things to figure it out," Bryant said of his past troubles. "I think I got it and I'm just more focused on my job and doing what I love to do and that's playing football." The light bulb went off for Bryant on the field last season, and is now doing so off of it. A rare talent, we don't doubt that Bryant can top his 92/1,382/12 2012.

Miles Austin said he is focusing on strengthening his hamstrings this offseason.
Austin played in all 16 games last season, but was consistently bothered by hip and hamstring issues. In 2011, he missed six games with a severe pull. "I'm definitely strengthening my hamstrings a lot more than I have been," said Austin. "Doing a different routine, a couple of extra exercises each day on our leg days."

Coale tore his ACL in November, and it's unlikely that he's going through practice full-speed. It's still good news for the 2012 fifth-round pick because just 11 days ago he had yet to be medically cleared. After spending last season on the practice squad, Coale faces an uphill battle for a roster spot.

Benford will miss the rest of rookie minicamp and OTAs before returning for training camp. The former Tennessee Tech receiver spent the entire 2012 season on the practice squad, and he'll face an uphill battle for a roster spot.
