Broncos released RB LaMont Jordan.
Jordan averaged 3.4 yards per carry on just 25 attempts as the third-stringer last year. He failed to win a short-yardage role and had trouble staying out of the trainers' room for the fourth straight season. Jordan, 31, will have trouble making a final roster in 2010.

Knowshon Moreno (wrist) practiced all week and will handle the majority of the carries against a weak Chiefs run defense.

Broncos declared RB LaMont Jordan, QB Tom Brandstater, WR Kenny McKinley, OG Seth Olsen, DL Chris Baker, WR Brandon Lloyd, RT Ryan Harris and OLB Jarvis Moss inactive for Thursday's game against the Giants.
Kyle Orton will start, as expected. The biggest injury for the Broncos is starting RT Ryan Harris. It's a bad time for him to be out against the Giants' outstanding defensive line. Brian Dawkins (neck) is active and will start.

The Denver Post expects the Broncos to release one of Knowshon Moreno or Willis McGahee.
It's painfully obvious one of Moreno and McGahee are on the way out following the selection of Montee Ball, and McGahee is the far likelier candidate. Although Moreno barely survived final cuts last summer, he's both far younger and cheaper than McGahee, who's scheduled to make $2.5 million in his age-32 campaign. Going on 26, Moreno will make $1.7 million in the final year of his rookie contract. Moreno's competent play down the stretch last season likely bought him another year in Denver.
