Taking over for an injured Matt Cassel (broken foot), Teddy Bridgewater completed 12-of-20 passes for 150 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Vikings' 20-9, Week 3 loss to the Saints.
He added six rushes for 27 yards. With Cassel dealing with "several fractured bones," it will be Bridgewater under center for the foreseeable future in Minnesota. Operating behind an ineffective offensive line, Bridgewater extended plays with elusiveness, and was more effective than Cassel has been the past two weeks. He showed good awareness, and had nice touch on his passes. We like his odds of getting the Vikings' Adrian Peterson-less offense moving more than Cassel. Bridgewater's first start will come at home against the Falcons next Sunday. It's a winnable game, but Bridgewater isn't yet on the QB2 radar. Sep 21 - 4:17 PM
