Associated Press named Sean McVay its 2017 Coach of the Year.
McVay took a bottom of the league Jeff Fisher team to an NFC West title as a first-year head coach. The Rams had a seven-win improvement under him and a complete turnaround on offense, leading the NFL in points per game (29.9) and ranking top-10 in both passing and rushing yards. McVay’s scheme returned Todd Gurley to All-Pro status and rehabbed Jared Goff from rookie-year bust to franchise quarterback. The Rams future is on the rise with McVay — the youngest coach in the league. Vikings HC Mike Zimmer (11), Jaguars HC Doug Marrone (2), Patriots HC Bill Belichick (1), and Eagles HC Doug Pederson (1) all received first-place votes. Feb 3 - 8:10 PM
