Travis Zajac found himself centering Taylor Hall after Adam Henrique had the assignment on opening night and Zajac potted his first of the season in a 3-2 loss to Tampa Bay. P.A. Parenteau filled out the line while Devante Smith-Pelly, who was also on Hall's line in the opener, was dropped to the third unit with Beau Bennett and Pavel Zacha.
