Johan Franzen continued to be a playoff scoring machine, scoring a pair of goals and giving him 73 points in 88 playoff games. The Red Wings took a different approach this season, letting the holes in their lineup be filled by their youngsters and they delivered in game two. Aside from Nyquist's goal, the Red Wings also got a goal and two assists from rookie Damien Brunner, and Justin Abdelkader also scored. Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk can't be the only source of offense, so it's good to see the kids contributing. May 3 |

It was pretty much the lone bright spot offensively for the Red Wings, who couldn't sustain enough of a forecheck and offensive pressure to really put the Blackhawks on their heels, even when the game was tied 1-1 leading up to the third period. Brunner now has three goals and three assists in the postseason. Gustav Nyquist and Jonathan Ericsson picked up the helpers on the goal. "We gave up too many opportunities, and then made some key mistakes down the stretch, obviously."
