John Carlson feels the key to defeating the Rangers in first round of the postseason is to take what made the Capitals last year and blend it with their higher tempo style.
"It plays to our strengths a little bit," Carlson said. Washington played in a defensive shell last year under Dale Hunter, but with coach Adam Oates they have been given more freedom to create offense and get in on the forecheck. Committing to blocking shots and being able to grind out wins will be important against a Rangers team that prides themselves in playing that kind of game. Apr 30 - 7:35 PM
