Columbus has failed to convert on its last 18 power-play opportunities.
The Blue Jackets went 0-for-3 with the man advantage on Thursday en route to a 2-0 loss to Tampa Bay. "Our power play has to give us a goal somewhere along the way," said Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella. "We’re just going to keep working at it and hopefully good things happen. I think the scheme is good, we have some really good players. We just haven’t gotten out of the gate with the power play. I think tonight was the night we felt it. We found ways to win games (before). We needed our power play tonight not only to score a goal — I don’t know if we win the game or not — but just to give us some juice." Columbus definitely has the talent in place to have an effective power play and it wouldn't be surprising to see the squad bounce back in that regard. Oct 20 - 10:22 AM
