Tim Sherwood says he won't rest players in gameweek 38 ahead of Aston Villa's FA Cup final just six days later.

Aston Villa have avoided relegation so they have nothing to play for in the final week, but Sherwood insists he won't rest players. Six days is plenty of rest for professional players so we would assume he isn't lying to us. Use Aston Villa players in fantasy this weekend with confidence, especially in an easy match against Burnley.

Nathan Baker will miss Aston Villa's last match of the season with a knee problem.

Baker is still recovering from his knee injury and has been ruled out of Aston Villa's match against Burnley this weekend. Villa have already secured a spot in the Premier League for next season so it's unlikely that they risk Baker ahead of their FA Cup final six days later. Nathan Baker's fantasy season is effectively over and he will hold very little value for next season as well.

Tim Sherwood is convinced that Christian Benteke will stay at Aston Villa despite the interest of bigger clubs.

Benteke's late season goal surge has resulted in 15 goals for the striker and he once again looks like himself after a prolonged injury absence. The big clubs are again rumored to be going after him, but Tim Sherwood is more than convinced he'll stay. Sherwood says Benteke is happy at the club and wants to be there next season. Regardless of where he ends up, Benteke will have a lot of fantasy value next season if he can stay healthy.

Roy Hodgson has said Jack Grealish can have a future with England if he wants one.

Grealish has played for Republic of Ireland at the youth level but he rejected a senior-squad call up recently as he debats whether to play for Ireland or England. The youngster qualifies for Ireland through his family and for England via birth. Grealish has impressed everyone in the past few weeks as he's been given a chance by Tim Sherwood and seems to have a bright future ahead. He will be a high risk, high upside pick in fantasy next season.

With Aston Villa officially out of the running for relegation, Scott Sinclair's loan move from Manchester City has now become permanent with the player signing a four-year deal.

Sinclair hasn't been a regular starter since his arrival at Villa Park but you get the sense that a summer training camp and a return to match sharpness will help him stake a claim to a bigger role for next season. Aston Villa desperately needed to rebuilding a stock of talented players after a couple seasons of cost-cutting. The permanent addition of Scott Sinclair along with the potential permanent move for Tom Cleverley would go a long way toward restocking the shelves at Villa Park. It won't put them in the top half discussion but it will certainly represent a move in the right direction.

Christian Benteke has come alive under Tim Sherwood and his revival is rumored to be making him a £30million target for Liverpool.

Christian Benteke is a hard one to evaluate heading into the summer. He was a prized target heading into last summer before he tore his Achilles. He struggled for much of the season but came to life over the past two months under the tutelage of Stiker Whisperer Tim Sherwood. Benteke's revival has led to a return of his status as a sought-after commodity over the summer. Surely Liverpool and Spurs will be interested and it wouldn't be shocking if Chelsea, Manchester United or Arsenal added their names to the list in addition to some significant continental clubs (Atletico Madrid, perhaps).

Christian Benteke scored again for Aston Villa in their 6-1 loss to Southampton.

Southampton dominated Aston Villa this past weekend but Christian Benteke still found a way to be on the score-sheet. Benteke has reached top form in the past two months and has been on an incredible scoring spree. He looks like he has recovered fully from his injury and he will certainly be a fantasy force next season, whether he plays at Aston Villa or not. He will be a hot commodity in fantasy drafts next year.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given was embarrassed by Southampton as he conceded six goals on Saturday.

Shay Given had done a respectable job in the past few weeks but Saturday was rough for the goalkeeper as Southampton netted six goals against him. Despite the loss, Aston Villa are now safe from relegation and the goalkeeper position may need to be addressed for next season. Given is at the end of his career and his future for next season is unknown, so we should expect to see Brad Guzan in goal next week as Villa try to evaluate their options for the future.

Kieran Richardson is at risk of missing the remainder of the season - and therefore the upcoming FA Cup final - as the left-sided player suffers a calf strain during training.

In his absence Alan Hutton returned to the eleven for the trip to St Marys’ in Tim Sherwood’s only change from the win over Everton but following a 3-minute Sadio Mane blitz he probably wished he hadn’t. Mane broke the BPL record for the quickest hat-trick – 2mins 56 seconds – and also the earliest hat-trick to maintain Southampton's hopes of Europa League qualification. However it was a day of mixed emotions for Villa who were embarrassed 6-1 in the early kick-off before results later confirmed that their top flight status had been secured for another season. With a dead-rubber game to come Tim Sherwood will consider his options ahead of the FA Cup final – Nathan Baker is back in contention after training this week while Gabby Agbonlahor has been waiting patiently for his chance after returning from injury.

Christian Benteke kept up his scoring form with another goal for Aston Villa, but Southampton displayed a lethal attack and whipped the Lions, 6-1.

Make that eleven goals in the last ten for Benteke but his goal today came with the Villans already down by five. The defense was a shambles and were responsible for conceding the fastest hat trick in league history to Sadio Mane early on. The lone goal came in first half stoppage time when Leandro Bacuna made his way down the left, sent a cross into the area, and Benteke rose high to power home a header. It could me understandable how Villa may not have heads in this one, the FA Cup final is the real focus at this stage, but they aren't safe just yet and need to rebound defensively next week to boost their confidence ahead of the trophy match.

Libor Kozak is unlikely to play again this season after Tim Sherwood confirmed the striker is suffering from a back problem.

Kozak had been working his way back to full fitness following a double leg fracture in training almost 18 months ago and the striker was nearing a return following an appearance for the under-21 side. However this latest setback will keep the player out for the next 3-games although the problem is not thought to be serious just "general wear and tear." On a brighter note Sherwood has been boosted by the news that Nathan Baker is back in training, the defender was expected to miss the remainder of the campaign after picking up a knee injury during the FA Cup semi-final win over Liverpool. Although this weekend will come too soon Baker he will be available for the final 2-games and provides some much needed defensive cover especially with Jores Okore struggling due to an ongoing knee issue.

Shay Given continues to play solid for Aston Villa and should keep Brad Guzan on the bench.

Guzan was benched after some horrible mistakes earlier this month and Shay Given has been solid coming in for him. Given kept a clean sheet for Aston Villa against West Ham this past weekend and should be given the start against for the next two matches. Aston Villa face Southampton and Burnley for the last two weeks of the season, giving Say Given every chance to shine once again.
May 13 - 2:33 PM

Jack Grealish has shown flashes of brilliance in the past few weeks as he's been given a chance to shine at Aston Villa.

Grealish was the master-mind behind Aston Villa's only goal this weekend and the assist he was credited for lead him on the way to 16 fantasy points. Grealish excels in drawing fouls and creating chances, so his fantasy value is generally solid even when he doesn't score or assist. He's ended with double-digit fantasy points two weeks in a row now and he should continue starting. His floor is decently safe in the final two weeks of the season and his price is only £ 8.98 M.

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is on loan at Aston Villa after struggling to find a home at Old Trafford but is available on a free-transfer this summer.

A number of teams are interested in signing Cleverley on a free-transfer this summer including Aston Villa, Everton, Arsenal, and Wolfsburg. The midfielder has been solid at Aston Villa this season and has regained some of his form. He's even found a goal-scoring touch in the past few weeks that is raising his value. He will decide his future at the end of the season, but if he stays in the Premier League, he will likely only be a fantasy option in deep leagues or leagues that reward a variety of phantom points.

Tom Cleverley scored to give Aston Villa a 1-0 win over West Ham United.

Jack Grealish made a nice run down the left side and set up Cleverley perfectly for a tap-in for the only goal of the game. This was Cleverley's third goal in three matches as the Manchester United loanee is showing flashes of goal scoring ability. Aston Villa are now four points above the relegation zone and the points were extremely important as Leicester City and Sunderland also picked up wins this weekend. West Ham are still comfortable in 10th place, but Sam Allardyce's job is in question.
