Manchester United are expected to sign Chelsea's Nemanja Matic in the next week.

United manager Jose Mourinho is very keen to sign the player that he brought to Chelsea in 2014 for a fee thought to be in and around £40 million. Matic, who is 28, has reportedly agreed personal terms and a £155,000 per week contract with the Red Devils. The deal is expected to go through before United jet off on their pre-season tour in the USA on July 9th. Matic is being drafted in as a replacement for ageing veteran Michael Carrick, who is 36 in July and entering what is presumed to be the final season of his career after he signed a one year extension to his current contract. Matic is also viewed as a step up from Belgian beanpole Marouane Fellaini. Matic will not be able to replace Carrick's passing ability, however he is an accomplished defensively minded midfielder who is used to the pace of the PL. The move indicates that Antonio Conte will not be letting Cesc Fabregas leave the club this summer, and may pave the way for The Blues to sign Tiemoué Bakayoko from Monaco.

Chelsea striker Bertrand Traore has completed a permanent transfer to French side Lyon.

The Burkina Faso international joins Lyon on a five-year contract for a fee of €10 million, with the deal including a 15 per cent sell on clause for Chelsea should the Ligue 1 outfit decide to sell the striker in the future. The 21-year-old joined Chelsea in January 2014 and spent the first 18 months of his Blues career on loan at Vitesse, scoring 17 goals in 48 Eredivisie appearances. Traore returned to Stamford Bridge for the 2015-16 season and made 16 starts, scoring four goals, under Jose Mourinho and caretaker manager Guus Hiddink. But the arrival of Michy Batshuayi saw Traore sent out on loan to Ajax last season, where he turned heads with 13 goals in 39 appearances and shined on the club's run to the Europa League final. Traore becomes the third Chelsea player to leave this summer following the sale of Juan Cuadrado (Juventus) and Christian Atsu (Newcastle).

AFC Bournemouth are leading the chase to sign Chelsea defender Nathan Ake.

Ake spent the first half of 2016-17 on loan, and after a slow start to his spell on the south coast, the 22-year-old flourished under Eddie Howe and it was those performances which prompted Antonio Conte to recall the youngster in January. However, his return to Stamford Bridge didn’t pan out as he had originally hoped, and once again opportunities to feature for the first-team were limited - Ake made just one league start [playing 98 minutes] during the remainder of the campaign. But, it now looks like Bournemouth could be back for a second bite of the cherry, only this time on a permanent basis, for a fee believed to be in the region of £20 million. If Ake does sign then he will join former teammate Asmir Begovic who arrived at the club last month.

Swansea are expected to announce their first signing of the summer, a deal which will see Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham join as part of a season long loan.

Newcastle had been favourites to sign the 21-year-old who is currently representing England at the Under-21 European Championships, but it now appears that Abraham is keen to work with manager Paul Clement, whom he played under as part of the Chelsea youth team. His arrival should kick-start the beginning of Swansea’s summer spending with chairman Huw Jenkins confirming there will be more players arriving through the door: "A lot of work is going on, and has been going on since the last window in January, but there is not much action at the minute. The next couple of weeks will see things get clearer as pre-season starts and it will focus minds." Swansea are believed to be in a three-way battle to sign Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas while reports suggest Clement has enquired about former Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel who is currently plying his trade in Turkey.

Birmingham City boss Jamie Redknapp has confirmed the Blues have made a contract offer to former Chelsea and England captain John Terry.

The 36-year-old has been linked with big-money moves to numerous clubs since leaving the Premier League champions. With Swansea City, Bournemouth and Aston Villa all eyeing Terry, Jamie Redknapp said Birmingham are also very interested in the iconic Englishman. "I'd love to have him at the football club," Redknapp said of Terry. "He's a fantastic captain and great leader. We've made him a good offer and we have done the best we can. It's up to John now, but we would love him at Birmingham." Redknapp, who Terry recently played for in Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick's testimonial, added: "He could play for anybody still. He has got a couple of good years in him."

Tomas Kalas' agent has confirmed Hull City's new boss Leonid Slutsky has shown interest in signing the Chelsea defender.

The 24-year-old is coming off a pair of impressive season-long loans at Middlesbrough and Fulham. But with just one year remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and first-team minutes looking hard to come by next season, the Czech international has been given permission to leave Chelsea on a permanent move this summer. While Hull appear to be keen on signing Kalas, his agent, Victor Kolar, said the defender is not short of potential landing places. "I can confirm, that Hull is interested in Tomas Kalas, but his future is still being solved," Kolar said. "More clubs have Tomas under radar, now we decide, which option will be the best. But he will certainly remain in England."

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has admitted talks about his future won't happen until after the European Under-21 Championship in Poland this summer.

The 19-year-old exploded onto the scene on loan at Bristol City in the Championship last season, scoring 23-goals, and has been linked with a move to Newcastle and Brighton. While both clubs believed to be keen on taking him on a season-long loan, Abraham says he does not expect his future to be decided until the Three Lions return from Poland. "I haven't spoken to Chelsea yet but know I'm focusing on this tournament so the discussions will happen after," he said. "I'm not too sure [where I will play] but hopefully it will be in the Premier League." Abraham was voted Bristol City's Young Player of the Year last season, in just his first senior campaign, but the rising talent already has his sights set on the future: "After this season I need to take myself to the next level. That’s the type of person I am, I always want to do better. I always want to do more."

Chelsea forward Diego Costa

While Chelsea have yet to announce a rumored move for Romelu Lukaku this summer, Costa's future looks to be decided already after a text message from Antonio Conte saying the Spaniard is surplus to requirements. Costa has already said he would not head to China with the World Cup looming, but said a preferred return to Atletico Madrid is complicated by the club's transfer ban until the winter: "I have a contract with Chelsea, they have to know what to do with me and I have to wait and know the decision that my club takes. I have a contract of two years with Chelsea, they have to decide. If they sell me, I will look for the best choice. Atletico is among them, it would not mean not playing, they can loan me out to some team in Spain, Brazil or wherever, but I have to play."

Aston Villa are the latest club to be linked with former Chelsea captain John Terry.

The 36-year-old was reportedly playing golf with Villa boss Steve Bruce in the Algarve last weekend and a potential switch to the Championship side was apparently discussed. Terry has been linked with money-spinning moves to both China and America since leaving the Premier League Champions while Swansea City and AFC Bournemouth could hand the centre-back a chance of staying in the top-flight. But, while the south coast club remain the bookies favourite to sign Terry, Villa are next in line, although it's not certain whether the Chelsea Legend would be prepared to drop down into the second-tier of English football.

Diego Costa is set to leave Chelsea after Antonio Conte told the striker he does feature in his plans for next season.

The 28-year-old was speaking after Spain’s 2-2 draw with Colombia in Murcia on Wednesday revealing: "I'm a Chelsea player, but they do not want me there." Costa, who was heavily linked with a move to China during the January transfer window, has been told "to find a team" by the Chelsea manager with the signing of Lukaku expected to be announced soon. "Conte said he did not count on me for next season," mused Costa. "It's a shame, I've already forwarded the message to Chelsea people to decide. But, it is clear that the coach does not count on me, and does not want me there." The news comes on the back of comments made by Lukaku confirming he had reached "an agreement" with another Premier League club: "My agent knows what's going to happen and I know as well. I'm staying calm and we have an agreement with the club as well."

Michael Hector will rejoin Chelsea after his season-long loan spell with Eintracht Frankfurt comes to end on June 30th.

The 24-year-old made 27 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt last season as they finished 11th in the Bundesliga and were beaten by Borussia Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal final. The Jamaican international joined Chelsea in 2015 but has yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Blues, having spent the last two seasons out on loan. Speaking to the club's official website about his time at Frankfurt, Hector said: "I enjoyed every minute of it. It’s the highest level I have played at so far. I played all across the back three, left side, centrally and I finished up on the right. I played in holding midfield for a couple of games as well so it’s been a good experience for me."

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has admitted he expects to receive a "few phone calls" about a potential move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Batshuayi signed for Chelsea for £33million from French outfit Marseille 12 months ago, but struggled for regular match time at Stamford Bridge. However, despite starting just one Premier League match, the Belgian international did end the campaign in fine form. Batshuayi scored the title-winning goal for the Blues at West Brom and, this Monday, found the back of the net in Belgium's 2-1 friendly victory over the Czech Republic. Expected to move in the summer, with a number of teams including Everton, West Ham and Newcastle interested, the 23-year-old has revealed his future is in the hands of Chelsea. "I'm not the master of my destiny. Chelsea bought me, they can do what they want with me," Batshuayi told RMC Sport. "I'm going to finish with the national team and then I expect I'll have a few phone calls. I'll see with my agent and the club. I want to play, score as many goals as possible and be at the World Cup."

Chelsea confirm Eden Hazard successfully underwent surgery on Monday after sustaining a fracture to his right ankle while training with the Belgian national team.

But while an initial timeline of between 6-8 weeks was touted by some, his injury appears worse than first feared, and now it seems that Hazard will miss the start of the 2017/18 Premier League season. A club statement confirmed: "He is expected to return to training in approximately three months," which should mean he is back in competitive action by mid-to-late September, probably after the international break. Reports from Spain suggest the news will not deter Real Madrid, who are said to be hankering for a cut-price deal for the crocked star. However, I’d suggest that in the first instance, a move during the summer transfer window is now highly unlikely, and secondly, with Chelsea reluctant to let their star player leave, there will be no room to negotiate a reduced fee despite his injury.
Jun 6 - 4:59 AM

Chelsea have been rocked by the news that Eden Hazard could miss the start of the new Premier League season after sustaining an ankle injury while on international duty.

The Belgium Football Association announced on Sunday afternoon that Hazard would be taken for tests after suffering a suspected ankle sprain in training. However, upon further examination, it now looks like the Chelsea star could be side-lined for up-to three months. An X-ray confirmed Hazard suffered a fracture to his right ankle - most likely an avulsion fracture – which was caused by the ligament or tendon pulling so hard, that it ripped a small piece of bone off. The good news for Chelsea supporters is that the injury is likely to scupper any chances of Real Madrid landing Hazard during this transfer window due to his inability to undertake a full medical assessment before the transfer deadline.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has told Sky Sports New HQ he will not leave Chelsea and would be happy to sign a new contract.

The Belgium international, who won the Premier League Golden Glove last season after keeping 16 clean sheets last term, has revealed his desire to extend his career at Stamford Bridge beyond the two years remaining on his current contract. Speaking at the Belgium camp ahead of their upcoming matches against the Czech Republic and Estonia, said: "I am very happy and there is no doubt I will stay. My contract runs out in two years so obviously I need a new deal. It's important I finish the season well with the national team and then maybe Chelsea will speak with my agent." Courtois' comments are the most recent declaring his desire to remain at Chelsea, having consistently denied rumors linking him with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
