Diego Costa rejoined training with Chelsea's first-team on Tuesday, Sky Sports reports.

Costa did not travel with the Chelsea squad for their 3-0 win over Leicester City last weekend, with a back injury listed as the official reason for his absence. While it was reported by several media outlets the omission was due to a spat during training over interest from China, worries seemed to be quelled by the striker's return to full training, after spending Sunday and Monday training by himself.

Chelsea confirms Lucas Piazon has extended his loan with Championship side Fulham until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old forward scored on his debut for Fulham in the EFL Cup against Bristol City, and now scored four goals in 17 appearances for the Cottagers since joining on loan this summer. Piazon, a Brazil Under-23 international, has featured three time for Chelsea since joining the club in January 2012.

Antonio Conte insists that Diego Costa did not travel with the squad to Leicester because of injury. His omission was not, as reported by several media outlets, as a result of a training ground bust up over interest from China.

Prior to kick off at the King Power Stadium, Conte said: "On Tuesday, Diego stopped training with a pain in his back and then in the week he didn’t train with us," before the upbeat Italian went onto add. "We played without Diego against Bournemouth and we have had time to prepare for this. We've prepared very well." Chelsea didn’t disappoint, cruising to a 3-0 win over the current Premier League champions. Willian came into the side with Eden Hazard playing as a ‘false 9’ and it was the Belgium who linked up well with Alonso on six minutes to open the scoring. The defender went on to add a second, before reaffirming his managers comments after the final whistle: "You guys made up the story. Diego wasn't feeling well because of his back. He's very happy and will have a great enough season at Chelsea."

Despite the absence of Diego Costa, Marcos Alonso struck twice as Chelsea defeated Leicester City 3-0 on Saturday.

Chelsea looked unfazed without their leading striker at Leicester City, as Marcos Alonso shined by scoring a pair of wonderful strikes while Pedro sealed all three points with a late header to give the Blues a seven-point lead over Tottenham in the table. Chelsea took control of the match early when Alonso broke the deadlock after six minutes and eased into half-time after an efficient 45 minutes. The Blues were even better following the restart and extended their lead when Alonso buried his second goal of the match in the 51st-minute, with Pedro adding a third in the 71st. All eyes at Chelsea will now swing back to the status of Diego Costa.

Antonio Conte has dropped Diego Costa from the Chelsea squad for Saturday's trip to Leicester City after a heated training-ground clash, reportedly involving a £30million-a-year offer from China..

The Sun has reported that Costa was axed from the match day squad as punishment after the striker rowed with fitness coach Paolo Bertelli on Tuesday. According to the report, Costa reported he had a back injury but Bertelli, a trusted member of Conte's staff, indicated that the striker was fit to train. The incident came after an additional report that Costa's agent, Jorge Mendes, met with Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjian about a potential move. While the immediate result of the clash was Costa's absence when the team traveled to Leicester, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over his future at Stamford Bridge. This has opened the door for Michy Batshuayi to potentially feature in the starting XI against Leicester on Saturday.

The London Evening Standard believes that growing concerns over the fitness of Marcos Alonso were behind Antonio Conte’s decision to trigger a recall option on Nathan Ake.

The 21-year-old took time to find his feet on the south coast, but once Ake was handed his first Premier League start, the young defender did not look back. Following two substitute appearances in August, the Dutch Under-21 star had to wait almost three months for his chance and it was those eight games which convinced Conte that Ake was "ready to stay in the squad of Chelsea" and challenge for a regular slot in the revamped backline. However, the Standard believes there is more to it than that with Alonso struggling with an ongoing leg injury which has been getting steadily worse. The £23m summer arrival has started the last 14 league games but played just 65 minutes at White Hart Lane recently and was given last weekend off. Ake can play centrally, and more importantly, provide cover on the left if needed.

Swansea City and West Ham United are both keen on securing Chelsea striker Michy Batshauyi on loan this month, according to Sky Sports sources.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea are currently in talks to loan Batshuayi to Swansea in a deal that would see Fernando Llorente move to Stamford Bridge, while West Ham has also renewed their interest. The Hammers made a £31m bid to Marseille for Batshauyi during the summer transfer window but the striker moved to Chelsea in a £33m deal instead. However, since joining Chelsea Batshuayi has found himself behind Diego Costa in the pecking order and limited to a substitute role. Should Batshuayi go out on loan, he would have significant value in all formats of fantasy.

Chelsea cruised into the fourth round of the FA Cup with Sunday's 4-1 victory over Peterbrough.

Chelsea returned to their winning ways after last week's Premier League defeat at Tottenham, as Pedro scored twice to lead a much changed starting XI to victory in the third round of the FA Cup. The Premier League leaders took a 2-0 advantage into the half thanks to a well-curled strike by Perdo and a buried finish from Michy Batshuayi. While the Blues tripled their advantage through Willian after the restart, things got interesting when Tom Nicholls scored from close range three minutes after Terry saw red in the 67th-minute. The small glimmer of hope for Peterbrough was however short lived as Pedro produced another terrific finish to seal the final scoreline at 4-1. Chelsea's next fixture in the FA Cup will come on January 28th when they face Championship side Brentford at Stamford Bridge.

It wasn't the return to action John Terry had planned, but Chelsea still came away with a dominant 4-1 FA Cup win on Sunday.

Against Peterborough United in his 50th FA Cup start, the Chelsea captain made his first appearance for the club in two months following a leg injury. But his night ended early after being sent off in the 67th minute for impeding a goalscoring opportunity, a decision manager Antonio Conte strongly disagreed with in the post-match press conference. But the straight red means that Terry will not be available to face Leicester City this weekend with both Kurt Zouma and the newly-recalled Nathan Ake all fighting for a spot in the team.

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is officially back in the fold for the Blues after starting in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Zouma played the full 90 minutes in the club's 4-1 win against Peterborough United, probably more due to necessity than what manager Antonio Conte had planned due to John Terry's red card midway through the second half. But the match marked Zouma's first run-out for the first team in more than 10 months after tearing his ACL in February. While the Frenchman has been in the squad over the past month, Sunday marked his first match action under Conte. "I am very happy," the manager said. "It is a first game after a really bad injury and he is fully recovered. He played good. We know he can improve a lot."

Nathan Ake's short and sweet period on loan at Bournemouth from Chelsea is over.

The 21 year old Dutch defender arrived at the club back in June and went on to make 12 first team appearances. Ake broke into the Cherries' starting XI in the mid-November win over Stoke, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win in his first league start. The headline grabbing performance transformed what had been a frustrating spell bench-warming into a huge opportunity. He went on to start all but one of the next 10 league games at centre-back (he was ineligible to play Chelsea), scoring the dramatic winner against Liverpool and a consolation against Southampton. Eddie Howe will be disappointed to lose the versatile defender, who had become an important team member at Bournemouth.

Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown will join Huddersfield Town on loan until the end of the season.

Brown spent first the half of the season on loan at Rotherham United, where he made 20 appearances in the Championship, and will now move to Huddersfield Town for the rest of the season. The 19-year-old forward will join fellow Chelsea Academy player Kasey Palmer at Huddersfield. In other loan news, goalkeeper Mitchell Beeney and defender Alex Davey have returned to Chelsea after the completion of their loans at League Two Crawley Town.

John Obi Mikel has moved to Chinese side Tianjin TEDA after spending 10-and-a-half years with Chelsea in which he won every major club honor.

Mikel made 372 appearances for Chelsea, where he won 11 trophies, including two Premier League titles and the 2012 Champions League. However, the former Nigerian international had not been included in a single matchday squad since Antonio Conte took over this summer. Mikel, who contract was also due to experience in the summer, announced that he would be moving to China on Twitter this Friday. Mikel wrote: "I feel now is the time to seek a new challenge. I'm delighted to be joining Tianjin TEDA FC in China, at a time that the Chinese Super League is really taking off, and I look forward to helping Tianjin TEDA FC continue to grow both on and off the pitch in the next few years."

Chelsea's 13-match win streak came to end as they were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham on Wednesday.

While Chelsea looked dangerous at the start of the first and second half, the Blues were undone by a pair of headed goals by Dele Alli at White Hart Lane. Eden Hazard was handed the first chance of the match but pulled his left-footed effort wide in the fourth minute, while the visitors lacked the final ball to make Tottenham pay throughout the first 20 minutes of the match. Their inability to find the net saw them conceded just halftime, as Christian Erisken's pinpoint cross found Dele Alli to head Spurs in front 1-0 in stoppage time. Chelsea came out firing after the restart but Hugo Lloris did well to deny Diego Costa, while Hazard headed a close-range effort wide. Tottenham would seal the final 2-0 scoreline in the 54th minute when Erisken again found Alli to head home at the far post. The lose means Chelsea remain at the top of the table, on 49 points, and sit five points ahead of second-placed Liverpool.

Antonio Conte will check on Marcos Alonso ahead of Chelsea's trip to White Hart Lane on Wednesday after the defender suffered an ankle injury during Saturday's 4-2 win over Bournemouth.

While it's unclear when or how Alonso suffered the injury to his right ankle against Bournemouth, the defender posted a picture on his official Snapchat account that showed him receiving treatment after the match. Antonio Conte will check on the status of Alonso ahead of Wednesday's trip to White Hart Lane, which means a late fitness will likely determine his availability. Branislav Ivanovic and Kurt Zouma would be in contention to start should Alonso be ruled out.
