Maryland sophomore OW Stefon Diggs will miss spring practice while recovering from a broken leg.

Diggs suffered a fractured fibula in October which required surgery. Prior to the injury, Diggs was one of the more dynamic offensive weapons in the country. Hopefully that explosiveness was not lost with the injury.

Maryland junior LB Cole Farrand (shoulder) won't play in Saturday's game against Boston College.

Farrand, the Terps's leader in tackles per game (8.3), won't be around to help slow down the nation's leading rusher Andre Williams. He suffered the injury in Saturday's victory over Virginia Tech. Farrand missed the Syracuse game earlier this month due to a head injury.

Maryland junior QB C.J. Brown took the blame for the Terrapins' current 1-4 skid.

The Terrapins were 4-0 and ranked No. 25 six weeks ago. Maryland is now 5-4 and it doesn't have a great chance of winning this weekend at Virginia Tech. "It's definitely on me," Brown said. "That reflects that (quarterback) position. I've got to be able to lead the team down the field and make plays." Maryland's top two receivers, Stefon Diggs and Deon Long, are out for the season with broken legs. "To me," Maryland coach Randy Edsall said, "C.J. gives us the best opportunity to win."

Maryland junior LB Cole Farrand (head) won't play in Saturday's game against Syracuse.

Maryland's injury problems continue. This time, they lose their leading tackler coming off a bye week. Farrand has collected 67 tackles this season, good for fifth in the ACC. Shawn Petty, a former quarterback, will start in Farrand's place.

Maryland sophomore starting LT Mike Madaras has quit football.

"My heart is not in the game of football or going to college at this time," Madaras said in a statement released by the school. The sophomore, who NFL.com's Mike Huguenin believes "was one of the most talented young linemen in the ACC," started all eight games for the Terps this season. Madaras also started eight games as a true freshman in 2012 while appearing in all 12 contests. Junior Jake Wheeler is one candidate to replace Madaras.

Maryland junior QB C.J. Brown (concussion) will miss Saturday's game against No. 9 Clemson.

Brown suffered the head injury earlier this month against Florida State when he took a nasty hit from Seminoles defensive lineman Jacobbi McDaniel. Caleb Rowe will start against the Tigers. Maryland listed an astounding 24 players on its Thursday injury report.

Maryland junior WR Deon Long suffered broken tibia and fibula during the game against Wake Forest.

Long and Stefon Diggs will have surgery soon and miss the remainder of the season. He had recorded 32 receptions for 289 yards and a touchdown before sustaining the injury.

Updating a previous item, Maryland sophomore OW Stefon Diggs suffered a fractured fibula during Saturday's game against Wake Forest and will undergo surgery.

Diggs caught eight passes for 67 yards before leaving the game. It is obviously a major injury, but Diggs should have plenty of time to recover before next season, the first year he will be draft-eligible.

Maryland sophomore OW Stefon Diggs was carted off the sideline against Wake forest with a right ankle injury.

A towel was over Diggs' head and he was in obvious pain. He was helped off the field by trainers and was unable to put any weight on the injury. Diggs took a crossing pattern for a first down and immediately grabbed his lower right leg. The sophomore is one of the most explosive players in college football.

Maryland junior QB C.J. Brown (concussion) was cleared to practice on Sunday.

Brown suffered a concussion earlier this month against Florida State. Although he passed every concussion test he took leading up to Saturday's game against Virginia, Maryland elected to play it safe and de-activate Brown (the Terps won anyway, 27-26). It seems probable at this point that Brown will play against Wake Forest on Saturday; backup Caleb Rowe will start again if Brown's situation unexpectedly deteriorates.

Maryland junior QB C.J. Brown is listed as doubtful for Saturday's game against Virginia.

Brown suffered a concussion on Saturday against Florida State after Seminoles defensive lineman Jacobbi McDaniel put his helmet through Brown's chest and the quarterback's head snapped back. Backup Caleb Rowe will make his second career start if Brown can't give it a go. Rowe isn't nearly as adept at running the zone-read option as Brown, but he possesses a strong arm and can effectively run the offense.

Maryland junior QB C.J. Brown is listed as "day-to-day" after suffering a concussion on Saturday against Florida State.

Brown sustained the head injury in the second quarter while attempting a long pass to Nigel King; upon release, he was crushed by FSU defenders Christian Jones and Jacobbi McDaniel. No penalty was called on the play and Maryland coach Randy Edsall wouldn't disclose if he'll submit tape of the hit to the ACC league office. Caleb Rowe will get the call on Saturday against Virginia if Brown isn't able to play.

Maryland senior CB Dexter McDougle will miss the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.

McDougle suffered the injury during Saturday's game against UConn. The senior recorded two interceptions in the contest before tackling an opposing player low and injuring his own shoulder. "Dexter was playing as good as he's played since I've been here," said head coach Randy Edsall.

Maryland junior cornerback Jeremiah Johnson will miss up to eight weeks due to a broken toe.

Johnson sat out Saturday's blowout win over Old Dominion after suffering the injury in Maryland's Week 1 victory against FIU. Johnson (5-foot-11, 190 pounds) will treat his toe with rest, not surgery. Senior Isaac Goins, a former junior college transfer who intercepted a pass against FIU, has replaced Johnson in the starting lineup.

Maryland sophomore offensive weapon Stefon Diggs was limited to six offensive touches for a total of 134 yards.

Diggs' lone carry went for 26 yards and saw the speedy runner take an option pitch along the sideline, high step and all. The sophomore also hauled in an easy 66 yard score thanks to a coverage breakdown, but showed nice recovery balance to stay on his feet. Diggs isn't draft-eligible, but he'll be on the national radar soon.
