Bills signed Tennessee Tech WR Da'Rick Rogers.

Rogers (6-3, 217) closed out his college career at Tennessee Tech after racking up a 67/1,040/15.5/9 line as a sophomore. Rogers was dismissed from Tennessee for "multiple" substance-abuse violations, and since admitted to three failed drug tests. At the Combine, Rogers ran a 4.52 forty and his 11-foot broad jump was second longest among receivers. As a 20-year-old, Rogers dominated the SEC to the extent that he might have been a first-rounder if not for off-field concerns. Character concerns were certainly the main reason Rogers went undrafted, but he could turn into a Week 1 starter for the Bills if he keeps his head on straight.

Tennessee Tech and former Vol WR Da'Rick Rogers visited the Bills on Wednesday.

Rogers is a very physical receiver with solid athleticism. He is being overlooked for a few reasons, but possesses plenty of talent. There are off-field issues, namely multiple failed drug tests which landed Rogers at Tennessee Tech in 2012, but he could blossom in the NFL as a second day pick.

Tennessee Tech WR Da'Rick Rogers will participate in Tennessee's Pro Day workout, according to Eric Galko of Optimum Scouting.

The event will be held on March 20, and it holds some significance since Rogers transferred from the Tennessee program after multiple reported failed drug tests. The new Vol coaching staff apparently deemed the decision acceptable, and Rogers will join former teammates Tyler Bray and Justin Hunter, along with Cordarrelle Patterson.

Tennessee Tech coaches were bothered by WR Da'Rick Rogers' attitude during his one year with the program, according to CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman.

Apparently "they were skeptical about just how much (Rogers) really had matured," after transferring from Tennessee, per Feldman. "I play with an edge, and I had to learn to control that edge off the field also," Rogers said. "I had to learn how to fix my flaws, and life got easier." The receiver was reportedly drug tested 10 times at Tennessee Tech.

Scouts Inc.'s Steve Muench believes Tennessee Tech Da'Rick Rogers is "cut from the same cloth" as Anquan Boldin.

Rogers is "willing to work the middle of the field and capable of making plays against tight coverage," writes Muench. "And while there are red flags surrounding his off-field character, it's hard to question Rogers' passion for the game and that will matter most to an NFL team." The former Vol was among the best receivers in the SEC in 2011 and should be selected in the third- or fourth-round.

Tennessee Tech junior WR Da'Rick Rogers will enter the 2013 NFL Draft.

Rogers transferred from Tennessee just before the season started after multiple failed drug tests and has done fairly well at the FBS level. The Golden Eagles have only won two games and other than one contest in which Rogers went for 303 receiving yards, he has failed to top 88 yards in any other game. Off field questions will be Rogers' biggest setback throughout the pre-draft process.

Tennessee Tech junior WR Da'Rick Rogers hauled in three touchdowns as part of a six reception, 76 yard outing against Eastern Kentucky.

Rogers has now registered 45 catches, 716 yards, and eight touchdowns at the FCS level on a team that has lost five straight games. However, other than one game where he went over 300 receiving yards, Rogers hasn't crossed the 80 yard mark. The former Vol is still showing that he can win at the catch point and we expect him to declare early for the Draft in April.

Tennessee Tech junior WR Da'Rick Rogers caught 18 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's overtime loss.

Rogers, a former Tennessee Volunteer, left the program just before the start of the season after being suspended for failed drug tests. The junior certainly has SEC talent and was the conference's best receiver, statistically, in 2011. Still, the best way Rogers can help his evaluation is by staying out of trouble.

Tennessee Tech junior WR Da'Rick Rogers was held to three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown against Oregon on Saturday.

Rogers started the game off with a long touchdown catch of 23 yards but was slowed after that. Still, he was the only Golden Eagles' receiver to gain more than seven yards. Scouts will look back to this game as Rogers' top competition.

Tennessee Tech junior WR Da'Rick Rogers registered 88 receiving yards on five catches, including one score, during Thursday's game against North Greenville.

The Golden Eagles had 274 yards in the air, but Rogers finished the game as the team's leading receiver and had a long reception of 36 yards. It is absolutely a lower level of competition, but the Tennessee outcast is doing well to continue producing on the field.

Tennessee Tech junior WR Da'Rick Rogers tallied three catches for 75 yards and one touchdown in his debut with the program on Thursday.

Rogers had a long catch of 52 yards against Hampton. He did not lead the team in receptions or receiving yards in the game, which is understandable with his limited practice reps, but he certainly had an early impact in the Golden Eagles ten point win. Tennessee Tech plays Oregon on September 15, so Rogers should be fully acclimated by that time.

Ex-Vol and current Tennessee Tech junior WR Da'Rick Rogers confirmed Tuesday that he failed multiple drug tests while at Tennessee.

"There were a couple of drug tests, and it was about me being a young, immature guy and those are things that I’ve got to work on," Rogers said. Since he transferred to an FCS level program, Rogers is eligible to play immediately and should line up on Saturday. He should feel at home at Tennessee Tech, since Rogers' former high school quarterback and running back are also on the Golden Eagles roster.

Junior WR Da'Rick Rogers has transferred from Tennessee to Tennessee Tech and took part in team meetings on Sunday.

Rogers was indefinitely suspended by head coach Derek Dooley last week after he reportedly violated the school's substance abuse policy. The junior had previously considered transferring to Georgia State this past spring after having multiple run-ins with coaches, even throwing tantrums on the sideline during games according to CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman. Rogers is an ultra talented receiver and will need to stay on track at his new home. Tennessee Tech recently graduated a receiver with NFL talent in Tim Benford, who led the program in receiving for four straight years. We believe Rogers is eligible to play immediately.

Updating a previous item, ESPN's Joe Schad reports that Tennessee junior WR Da'Rick Rogers violated the school's substance abuse policy, which led to his indefinite suspension.

Schad also refers to Rogers as a "former" Tennessee wide receiver, but we wonder if he meant "indefinitely suspended." Rogers had previously considered transferring to Georgia State this spring after having multiple run-ins with coaches, even throwing tantrums on the sideline during games according to CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman. It is not a stretch to wonder if this incident will be the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak.

Tennessee junior WR Da'Rick Rogers has been suspended indefinitely by head coach Derek Dooley for violation of team rules.

Beat writer Evan Woodberry added that Rogers' status for the rest of the season is uncertain. The junior's collegiate career has certainly had its ups and downs, specifically off the field. Rogers, on multiple occasions, has contemplated transferring and CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman asserted that from what he had heard from sources, he was surprised Dooley allowed Rogers to stay with the team. Although we consider junior Justin Hunter the better receiver, Rogers was the team's best offensive option that stayed healthy last season. JUCO transfer Cordarrelle Patterson will likely step into Rogers' vacancy in two receiver sets.
