Louisiana-Monroe senior QB Kolton Browning completed 21-of-31 attempts for 354 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in a 49-37 victory over Troy on Thursday.

Browning struggled earlier this season -- throwing six interceptions in ULM's first four games -- but he's been sensational in throwing for nine touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Warhawks' last two games, both wins. ULM improves to 5-4, including a 3-1 record within the Sun Belt.

Louisiana-Monroe will play Ohio in the Independence Bowl on December 28.

Compared to other games, this contest lacks NFL caliber talent, but a few prospects stick out. For the Warhawks, receiver Brent Leonard is very close to eclipsing 100 receptions. Ohio has a defensive tackle in Neal Huynh that may be drafted, along with two offensive linemen Skyler Allen and Eric Herman.

Former Oklahoma Sooner sophomore WR Kameel Jackson will transfer to Louisiana-Monroe.

Jackson reveled the decision via his Twitter account. The sophomore remained on scholarship with Oklahoma during the summer but was told he could not return to the team at the start of preseason practices. He started two games last season and made 12 catches for 165 yards. Kameel Jackson joins his older brother, Oliver, on the Warhawks roster.

Head coach Bob Stoops announced that sophomore WR Kameel Jackson will not return to the Oklahoma football team.

Jackson has had a rocky past with the football program but remained on scholarship throughout the summer despite being on thin ice with the coaching staff. At one point this spring, Jackson tweeted that he was transferring to Texas A&M but he never actually made the move. He started two games last season and made 12 catches for 165 yards.

Despite utilizing social media to announce his transfer, receiver Kameel Jackson apparently never left Oklahoma.

It’s nonsense like this that keeps coaches awake at night in the era of social media. After Jackson had most everybody believing he was on his way to Texas A&M, he was suspended for a violation of team rules while still enrolled in Norman. Jackson says he decided to remain at OU and the suspension was an academic attendance issue. From all this we can conclude coach Bob Stoops still has the talented receiver for up to three more years following what is sure to be an early-season suspension. As a freshman in 2011, Jackson caught 12 passes for 165 yards.

Wide Receiver Tavarese Maye had 161 receiving yards last week, eclipsing his total from the three previous games combined.

After a solid freshman campaign, Maye had been having a okay year with only 294 yards through five games. Maye racked up more than half of his season total on Saturday while adding his third touchdown of the year. With his big game, Maye is now leading Lousiana-Monroe in receiving yards and is second in receptions.

Head coach of the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, Todd Berry, has listed Kolton Browning as the starting quarterback on the depth chart ahead of last year's starter, senior Trey Revell.

Revell was just coming on last year so if Browning is as good as coach Berry thinks, he may be someone to take a look at in keeper leagues as he is a redshirt frosh.

Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Trey Revell (broken thumb) could return to action this week against North Texas.

He would be a risky start this week, but with Western Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette and Middle Tennessee State left, he is one to consider during the playoff run.

Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Trey Revell will be out 3-6 weeks with a broken thumb. "We’ll try to get a ball in his hand by the end of the week next week - not throwing or taking snaps, just holding the ball," ULM head trainer Phil Shaw said. "We’ll make sure he feels good about that, If that goes as planned the next week, the week of Troy, we’ll get him throwing a little bit and get him taking some snaps."

This is a tough break for Revell and the Warhawks as Revell was starting to get into a groove. Revell has had at least two touchdowns in each of his previous four games.

Louisiana-Monroe running back Frank Goodin had the fantasy game owners have been waiting for rushing 19 times for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Goodin also added two receptions for 20 yards.

This is actually Goodin's second three-score performance of the season, as he rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns against Texas Southern. With several more Sun Belt opponents left on the schedule you can expect quite a few more fantasy outbursts from Frank Goodin.

Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Trey Revell was named as one of the team's captains.

Considering this will be Revell's first time as the starter under center, it is a good indication of how the coaching staff feels about the junior signal caller.

Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Trey Revell has quickly become the clear favorite to emerge as starting quarterback.

Coach Charlie Weatherbie has nothing but good things to say about his junior quarterback's skill set and intangibles, noting his ability to move around and make things happen. He appears fully capable of replacing Kinsmon Lancaster, a solid fantasy performer in 2008.
