Date:

Louisiana-Monroe junior RB Kaylon Watson will transfer.

Watson announced his decision via Twitter, writing, "Appreciate everything ULM has done for me. But I'ma continue my journey somewhere else. I'ma miss my brothers though." The 6-foot, 218-pound junior rushed for 336 yards (3.6 YPC) in 2015. While he didn't score a touchdown on the ground, he did notch three receiving and showed nice hands out of the backfield on his way to catching 20 passes for 183 yards.

Browns selected Louisiana-Monroe CB Trey Caldwell with the No. 173 overall pick in the 2016 draft.

Caldwell is a sub-5-foot-9 corner and likely projects to the slot because of it. His 10 yard split of 1.50 seconds is ridiculous, and resulted in a 4.51 forty. His short shuttle of 4.19 seconds and 3-cone of 6.6 seconds are both very good, too. He played on 81.3 percent of the school's snaps last year. We don't know much about his game outside of that.

Louisiana-Monroe senior WR Rashon Ceaser accepted an invite to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

A All-Sun Belt First Team selection last year (Second Team in 2013), Ceaser unfortunately battled ankle problems all season and caught only 31 balls. Fully healthy in 2014, the 6-foot, 196-pounder had 77 receptions for 872 yards and three touchdowns. He's no doubt excited to get in front of scouts. NFL Media analyst Chad Reuter compared the Louisiana-Monroe product to Randall Cobb of the Green Bay Packers over the summer.

Louisiana-Monroe HC Todd Berry has been fired.

Louisiana-Monroe is struggling through a 1-9 season. The nail in Berry's coffin was Saturday's 59-21 loss to Arkansas State. In his six seasons with the Warhawks, Berry held a 28-43 record. The team's lone winning season under his watch came in 2012, when they went 8-5 with a loss in the Independence Bowl. Defensive line coach John Mumford will serve as the interim head coach for the final two games (at Texas State, at Hawaii) of the 2015 season.

NFL Media analyst Chad Reuter compared Louisiana-Monroe senior WR to Randall Cobb of the Green Bay Packers.

Holy hyperbole, Batman! We would need to see a lot more from Ceaser to even begin to compare him to Cobb, but Reuter certainly got our attention. Aforementioned hyperbole aside, the 6-foot, 196-pound senior caught 77 passes for 872 yards and three touchdowns last season. Draft analyst Reuter likes his ability to control the middle of the field with his physicality and quickness, though he also noted that Ceaser needs to improve on the reliability of his hands.

Louisiana-Monroe DT Gerrand Johnson is "quick and instinctive, and he sheds blocks well to wrap up ball carriers," writes Sports on Earth's Matt Brown.

"While listed at just 6-foot, 280 pounds, Johnson has dominated Sun Belt competition, starting 35 games in his career as a disruptive force at nose tackle for the Warhawks," Brown wrote. "Nose tackles rarely rack up big numbers, yet he somehow led ULM with 92 tackles last year, finishing with 12 ½ tackles for loss and 6 ½ sacks." Johnson was a First Team All-Sun Belt selection last year, becoming the first DL to lead the Warhawks in tackles since 1980 (Ken Poole with 104 tackles). Brown pegs Johnson as the No. 15 defensive tackle in the land.

Ravens signed Louisiana-Monroe K Justin Manton.

Manton served as ULM's punter, kickoff specialist, and placekicker during his four-year career. He connected on 20-of-24 field goals (83.3 percent) as a senior. Manton earned first-team All-Sun Belt as a junior punter and second-team honors as a kicker in 2014. Manton's ability to perform a variety of tasks gives him an outside chance at an NFL career. Unfortunately, that won't happen in Baltimore behind stud PK Justin Tucker.

Louisiana-Monroe senior K/P Justin Manton accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.

The Warhawk will be in an NFL camp next summer, though his participation will likely come via a UDFA contract. Manton is ranked by CBS as the No. 5 kicker prospect, and the No. 355 overall player in the class. The site doesn't give Manton a draftable grade.

Louisiana-Monroe senior QB Kolton Browning completed 21-of-31 attempts for 354 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in a 49-37 victory over Troy on Thursday.

Browning struggled earlier this season -- throwing six interceptions in ULM's first four games -- but he's been sensational in throwing for nine touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Warhawks' last two games, both wins. ULM improves to 5-4, including a 3-1 record within the Sun Belt.

Louisiana-Monroe will play Ohio in the Independence Bowl on December 28.

Compared to other games, this contest lacks NFL caliber talent, but a few prospects stick out. For the Warhawks, receiver Brent Leonard is very close to eclipsing 100 receptions. Ohio has a defensive tackle in Neal Huynh that may be drafted, along with two offensive linemen Skyler Allen and Eric Herman.

Former Oklahoma Sooner sophomore WR Kameel Jackson will transfer to Louisiana-Monroe.

Jackson reveled the decision via his Twitter account. The sophomore remained on scholarship with Oklahoma during the summer but was told he could not return to the team at the start of preseason practices. He started two games last season and made 12 catches for 165 yards. Kameel Jackson joins his older brother, Oliver, on the Warhawks roster.

Head coach Bob Stoops announced that sophomore WR Kameel Jackson will not return to the Oklahoma football team.

Jackson has had a rocky past with the football program but remained on scholarship throughout the summer despite being on thin ice with the coaching staff. At one point this spring, Jackson tweeted that he was transferring to Texas A&M but he never actually made the move. He started two games last season and made 12 catches for 165 yards.

Despite utilizing social media to announce his transfer, receiver Kameel Jackson apparently never left Oklahoma.

It’s nonsense like this that keeps coaches awake at night in the era of social media. After Jackson had most everybody believing he was on his way to Texas A&M, he was suspended for a violation of team rules while still enrolled in Norman. Jackson says he decided to remain at OU and the suspension was an academic attendance issue. From all this we can conclude coach Bob Stoops still has the talented receiver for up to three more years following what is sure to be an early-season suspension. As a freshman in 2011, Jackson caught 12 passes for 165 yards.

Wide Receiver Tavarese Maye had 161 receiving yards last week, eclipsing his total from the three previous games combined.

After a solid freshman campaign, Maye had been having a okay year with only 294 yards through five games. Maye racked up more than half of his season total on Saturday while adding his third touchdown of the year. With his big game, Maye is now leading Lousiana-Monroe in receiving yards and is second in receptions.

Louisiana-Monroe running back Frank Goodin will be limited against Arkansas due to an undisclosed injury.

Make sure to keep Goodin on your bench this weekend.
