	4	Scott Sizemore D.L. Scott Sizemore underwent successful surgery on his left knee Wednesday morning. Sizemore was expected to open the season as the A's starting third baseman, but he tore the ACL in his left knee early in camp and has been ruled out for the entire 2012 season. However, he's fully expected to be ready for spring training next year. Mar 21

CF	1	Yoenis Cespedes D.L. Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Friday there's a ''good possibility'' Yoenis Cespedes (hand) will need a rehab assignment. The was some optimism Cespedes could return Monday but that now seems unlikely. The Cuban outfielder has been sidelined since May 7 with a muscle strain in his left hand. A best-case scenario would have him returning sometime late next week. May 25

	2	Manny Ramirez Suspended Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday that the team is not "locked into" activating Manny Ramirez on May 30. Ramirez is eligible to join the A's on May 30, but the team wants him to get around 40 at-bats in the minors and show that he can produce offensively. He's 3-for-8 with two walks over his first three games with Triple-A Sacramento. May 23

	8	Brett Anderson D.L. Brett Anderson (elbow) will be shut down for a few days with forearm tightness. It's not a huge concern at this point, given he's coming back from Tommy John surgery. If all goes as scheduled, he could rejoin Oakland's rotation as soon as late June or early July. May 19
