| Pos | Role | Name |
| C | 1 | David Legwand ActiveDavid Legwand netted Nashville's game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory Wednesday. Mike Fisher scored his first goal of the playoffs. Gabriel Bourque, Sergei Kostitsyn, and Martin Erat each recorded an assist for the Predators. May 2 |
| 2 | Mike Fisher ActiveMike Fisher scored his first goal of the postseason on Wednesday. Fisher has four points in eight playoff contests. With Alexander Radulov and Andrei Kostitsyn both suspended by the team, they had to rely on players like Fisher more for offensive contributions. It worked out for Nashville on Wednesday as the Predators earned a 2-0 victory over Phoenix. May 3 |
| 3 | Paul Gaustad ActivePaul Gaustad is eligible for unrestricted free agency this summer. The Predators gave up a first-round pick for him at the trade deadline, so they'll probably make a pitch to retain his services but he'll likely have to come at a cheaper rate after his previous cap hit was set at $2.3 million. Gaustad is a strong faceoff man, who can chip in some offense and physicality to a team's bottom-six forward group. May 16 |
| 4 | Nick Spaling ActiveWhen Nick Spaling scores the Predators win. Including playoff games, Nashville has a 13-0-1 record when Spaling scores. That's one interesting stat. When advised of the correlation, Spaling remarked, "Better score more often I guess". Despite his heroics, Spaling is not a fantasy asset. Jan 15 |
| 5 | Craig Smith ActiveThe Nashville Predators are hoping that Craig Smith can take another step forward next season. Smith had 14 goals and 36 points in 72 games as a rookie in 2011-12. After the Predators were eliminated from the playoffs, he left to play for Team USA, where he got to play on a line with Bobby Ryan. Smith ended up with two points in four contests. "He looked good playing center ice and played on their top two lines," Predators GM David Poile said. "We know we have a really good up and coming player in our organization. … With a fresh start next season, there’s no reason to think he won’t play higher in our lineup." May 19 |
| LW | 1 | Colin Wilson ActiveColin Wilson will have a lot to prove next season in Nashville. A restricted free agent this offseason, the Predators will make their pitch to keep him in town. However, the 22-year-old is still very difficult to figure out. He matched his career-high point total by the end of Februrary with 34, but had just one more point after that. The acquisitions of Paul Gaustad and Andrei Kostitsyn at the trade deadline didn't help his playing time or his role, and he became a a healthy scratch in all but two contests after March 15, beginning the playoffs as one, too. He didn't play until Game 2 of the second-round series, scoring in Game 5. May 22 |
| 2 | Sergei Kostitsyn ActiveSergei Kostitsyn felt that the Nashville Predators were too tough on Alexander Radulov and his brother Andrei Kostitsyn. Andrei and Radulov were suspended from Game 3 after missing curfew. They were also held out of Game 4 after the Predators won Game 3. "I think the management was too tough on Alexander and Andrei," Sergei said. "The punishment for the incident could have been a monetary fine, (they) went too far with the disqualification in the midst of an important stage of the playoffs. We missed the guys in games three and four of the series." This might present the Predators with a bit of an awkward situation. While they might be comfortable letting Andrei walk as an unrestricted free agent, Sergei has been a key part of their team. This will probably be an incident that they'll simply try to move on from. May 19 |
| 3 | Andrei Kostitsyn ActiveAndrei Kostitsyn is likely to play in Game 5 on Monday. Kostitsyn hasn't played in the Predators last two games. He missed Game 3 because he was serving a team suspension and then he was listed as a healthy scratch for Game 4. However, the Predators are losing their series 3-1 and were shutout of Friday's game. Kostitsyn is one of the bigger offensive threats, so he might be able to help extend the Predators' playoff run. May 5 |
| 4 | Jordin Tootoo ActiveJordin Tootoo is eligible for unrestricted free agency this summer, but he'd like to stay with the Nashville Predators. "I feel a lot of ties to the city of Nashville," Tootoo said. "This is where I grew as a person and did a lot of great things and a lot of positive things. For me, it's one day at a time, and that's all I can think of." He has played eight seasons with the Predators after being drafted by the club back in 2001. Tootoo notched a career-high of 30 points this past campaign, while adding 92 penalty minutes and 151 hits, in 77 games. May 9 |
| 5 | Brian McGrattan I.L.Brian McGrattan isn't expected to return on Saturday. McGrattan hasn't played in a game since Feb. 4. He has two points and 61 penalty minutes in 30 contests this season. Mar 3 |
| 6 | Gabriel Bourque ActiveGabriel Bourque practiced with Alexander Radulov and David Legwand on Thursday. Bourque has been great in the early going with three goals in four games to lead Nashville. Andrei Kostitsyn, Nick Spaling and Patric Hornqvist and Martin Erat, Mike Fisher and Sergei Kostitsyn were other line combinations in practice Thursday. Apr 20 |
| RW | 1 | Patric Hornqvist ActivePatric Hornqvist had several chances to beat Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith on Friday, but the Predators' ended up suffering a 1-0 loss. "I have to score if I get that many opportunities," Hornqvist said. "I need to put one in the back of the net to get us to overtime." Hornqvist netted 27 goals in the regular season, but he has just one goal in nine playoff games. The Nashville Predators are down 3-1, so one more loss and Hornqvist won't get another chance to rebound. May 5 |
| 2 | Martin Erat ActiveNashville Predators forward Martin Erat's agent claims that he didn't suffer a concussion after taking a questionable hit from Libor Hudacek. Erat's agent says that he suffered a "stiff neck" instead. He has an off-season to heal up his "neck" but the Predators and Erat dodged a bullet if it really wasn't a concussion. It's another example of how NHL teams must cross their fingers when players go overseas to represent their home countries. May 20 |
| 3 | Alexander Radulov ActiveThe KHL instated a new rule in which one "returning Russian NHL player" won't count against a given team's salary cap. National team coaches must deem a given player "worthy" before earning such an exclusion. Slava Malamud reports that it will give richer KHL teams the opportunity to spend big on free agents such as Alexander Radulov and Alexander Semin. May 13 |
| 4 | Matt Halischuk ActiveThe Nashville Predators seem to believe that Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Rostislav Klesla deserves supplementary discipline for his check on winger Matt Halischuk. Barry Trotz told Josh Copper it was "a very dangerous hit." Klesla will have a hearing with the league on Sunday. May 5 |
| 5 | Brandon Yip ActiveBrandon Yip logged 3:58 minutes with the man advantage on Wednesday. With Andrei Kostitsyn and Alexander Radulov both scratched for Friday's contest, Yip could get similar responsibilities in Game 4. Yip has a goal and two points in eight playoff games. May 4 |
| D | 1 | Ryan Suter ActiveThere are rumors that Ryan Suter and Zach Parise want to play together next season. Both are unrestricted free agents to be and while Parise is still involved in the Stanley Cup playoffs, Suter's season was ended last round by the Coyotes. Detroit could be a possible destination for both as the Red Wings are a top team and apparently have the money and cap room for the American-born players. Stay tuned as this has the potential to be the biggest story in the off-season. May 25 |
| 2 | Shea Weber ActiveShea Weber admitted to feeling betrayed by Alexander Radulov. "You feel a little bit betrayed, but I am sure (Radulov) feels bad about it now and he looks back on it and wishes it didn’t happen," Weber said. "Those are the things you can’t take back and we’ve got to move forward." Weber and Radulov are both scheduled to become restricted free agents this summer. The Predators are expected to not only want to re-sign Weber, but ideally ink him to a long-term deal. However, they might decide to part ways with Radulov. May 19 |
| 3 | Kevin Klein ActiveKevin Klein, who was one of the stars in the first round of the playoffs, had a tough start in Round 2. The defenseman had a couple of goals and an assist in the five game series versus Detroit, but was minus-two and was in the penalty box with his first minor since October 29, when the Coyotes scored a power play goal. "If you make a mistake, it’s going to show out there no matter who you are. It’s one of those things," Klein said. "(Six) days off, you’re a little out of sync with how quickly the game is moving. As the game went on, I felt better." Game 2 is Sunday in Phoenix. Apr 29 |
| 4 | Francis Bouillon ActiveFrancis Bouillon wants to return to the Nashville Predators next year. Bouillon can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 but the 36-year-old defenseman still feels he can play. "I feel great," Bouillon said. "I may be 36 years old, but I feel like 25, so hopefully I’ve got a few more seasons." He has no fantasy value. May 10 |
| 5 | Hal Gill ActiveHal Gill has a fractured tibia. Gill had screws inserted into the injured area two weeks ago. He played in Nashville's final five playoff contests and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. May 25 |
| 6 | Jack Hillen ActiveJack Hillen and Brian McGrattan were healthy scratches on Saturday. It was the third time this season that Hillen was forced to watch a game from the press box as the Predators put Ryan Ellis in the lineup. Hillen last missed a game on October 20. He has very little fantasy value with only two goals and six points this season. Jan 8 |
| 7 | Ryan Ellis ActiveRyan Ellis made his playoff debut in Game 3 on Sunday. Ellis only logged 7:50 minutes, but that includes 2:32 minutes of ice time with the man advantage. Ellis has a ton of offensive upside, but he's not expected to make much of an impact in the Predators' 2012 playoff run. Apr 16 |
| 8 | Roman Josi ActiveRoman Josi is slated to play on Friday after being absent from the last nine contests because of an upper-body injury. He practiced on Thursday and coach Barry Trotz expects him to be back on the blueline in Detroit. Josi has recorded 15 points and a minus-4 rating in 47 games for Nashville during his first year as a pro. Mar 29 |
| G | 1 | Pekka Rinne ActivePekka Rinne made only 15 saves as the Nashville Predators were eliminated from the playoffs with their 2-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday night. Rinne was simply not good enough early on in the series, giving up nine goals in the first two games, then outplayed by his counterpart, Mike Smith, in the latter half, as he gave up three goals in three games in which he received just one win. Of course, it also doesn't help that the Preds' offense managed three goals in the last three games, either. Despite the way the season ended, Rinne remains one of the top netminders in the game heading into next season. May 8 |
| 2 | Anders Lindback SidelinedAnders Lindback (upper body) practiced Tuesday and coach Barry Trotz feels good about his availability for Game 1 against Detroit. Lindback was hurt Saturday when teammate Ryan Ellis fell on him during a game against Colorado. The goalie missed Monday’s practice session, but should be good to go as Pekka Rinne’s backup for Game 1 on Wednesday. Apr 10 |
| 3 | Jeremy Smith ActiveJeremy Smith was summoned from the American Hockey League by the Nashville Predators to fill in during Monday's practice. Smith was recalled only once before, in early January, and needed to be brought back up again with Anders Lindback missing practice with an upper-body injury. It doesn't appear like it's anything serious, though, so Smith's stay looks to be brief. "With each and every call up I will get more comfortable and seamlessly go from each league without that lull where it takes a bit," Smith said. "It’s nice to be here. It’s good to see how they prepare for a series and break down an opposing team and their strengths and their weaknesses." Smith was 29-19-1 with a 2.25 goals-against average and .920 save percentage with the Milwaukee Admirals. Apr 9 |
