| Pos | Role | Name |
| C | 1 | Steve Stamkos ActiveSteve Stamkos is one of the finalists for the Hart Trophy. Stamkos is at a disadvantage in the battle for the most valuable player award because he is the only one of the nominees that wasn't on a playoff-bound team. Still, Stamkos did lead the league with a stunning 60 goals and that has to count for a lot. He scored 10 more goals than any other NHLer and only 30 players even managed to get within 50% of his goal total. Apr 27 |
| 2 | Vincent Lecavalier ActiveVincent Lecavalier scored his 22nd goal of the season, an unassisted effort, in the Tampa Bay Lightning's 5-2 loss to the Canadiens in Montreal on Wednesday night. Bruno Gervais scored the Lightning's other goal. It was his sixth of the season. Apr 4 |
| 3 | Nate Thompson ActiveNate Thompson was chosen as one of Team U.S.A's alternate captains for the World Hockey Championships. He's a good charachter guy and it's a nice honor for him but it's not going to make him rosterable next season in any format. May 6 |
| LW | 1 | Ryan Malone ActiveRyan Malone enjoyed a very productive month of March with 10 goals and five assists in 15 games. He has recorded five goals and seven penalty minutes in his last two games, which gives him value as a rough and tumble fantasy producer. Snatch him up if he's sitting on the waiver wire if you could use the help in either category. Apr 2 |
| 2 | Brett Connolly ActiveBrett Connolly registered his 10th assist of the season on Thursday. Connolly has 14 points in 59 games in his rookie campaign. He has plenty of potential, but it might be a couple of seasons before he has any fantasy value in standard leagues. Mar 23 |
| 3 | Tom Pyatt ActiveTom Pyatt is slated to dress on Tuesday after missing the last three games with a leg injury. He has accounted for seven points in 40 contests this year. Jan 31 |
| RW | 1 | Martin St. Louis ActiveMartin St. Louis believes that the Lightning aren't far away from being back in the playoffs. "We're not that far away. I totally believe that," he said. "Even this year, it's five wins. With all the injuries we had, it's five wins. It's easy to look back and think of five games you should have won, but we had a tough start, our schedule wasn't easy at the beginning." Tampa Bay is rumored to be looking for help between the pipes this off-season and that could help them get back into contention. Apr 24 |
| 2 | Teddy Purcell ActiveTeddy Purcell concluded the 2011-12 campaign with 65 points, which is the highest total from an NHL player born in Newfoundland. He netted a hat trick in Tampa Bay's final regular-season contest on Saturday to give him a career-high 24 markers. Purcell endured some rough patches this year, but was excellent down the stretch with 11 goals and 26 assists in his last 31 games. Apr 8 |
| 3 | Adam Hall ActiveAdam Hall played on Thursday after missing nine straight contests due to an upper body injury. Hall logged 11:27 minutes of playing time in Tampa Bay's 3-2 overtime loss to Toronto. He had a minus-one rating, bringing his overall plus/minus down to minus-11. Apr 6 |
| 4 | Dana Tyrell I.L.Dana Tyrell will require reconstructive surgery to repair a partially torn ACL in his right knee. He is expected to be out for up to six months, which means he won't be available until next season. Tyrell had surgery on the same knee in 2009. Jan 25 |
| 5 | Tim Wallace ActiveTampa Bay has claimed Tim Wallace off waivers from the New York Islanders. He has skated in 31 games with the Islanders this campaign, while contributing one assist, 16 shots, 77 hits and a minus-7 rating. Feb 23 |
| 6 | James Wyman ActiveAfter missing nearly one month with an upper body injury, James Wyman will be in the lineup tonight for host Tampa Bay against Washington. The ailment forced the 25-year-old Wyman out of a Jan. 5 game at Ottawa and he proceeded to miss nine games. He was called up from Norfolk (AHL) on Dec. 20 and played six games (1 g, 3 pts) before sustaining the injury. Jan 31 |
| D | 1 | Eric Brewer ActiveEric Brewer will be available to play on Thursday. He exited Tuesday's game with eight minutes left in the second period after engaging in a fight with Philadelphia's Wayne Simmonds because he was bleeding. Brewer said he was fine and he practiced on Wednesday. Dec 28 |
| 2 | Victor Hedman ActiveVictor Hedman had two assists on Thursday. Hedman is just one point away from reaching the 20-point milestone for the third straight season. He's still not much of a fantasy contributor, but Hedman has some untapped offensive potential. Mar 30 |
| 3 | Marc-Andre Bergeron SidelinedMarc-Andre Bergeron will undergo season-ending back surgery. Bergeron has been sidelined for 22 of the Lightning's past 23 games due to a bulging disk in his lower body. It has been affecting his sciatic nerve. Bergeron underwent surgery to deal with a similar injury in April 2009. Mar 3 |
| 4 | Brett Clark ActiveBrett Clark enters Thursday's action second in the NHL with 186 blocked shots this season. "You know it's going to hurt," he said. "But you still have to stick your neck out for the team. That's what the whole job is." Clark has been dealing with an ankle issue from pucks hitting him and is sporting a swollen bursa that is larger than a golf ball. Unfortunately that category is his only real fantasy value, as he has 14 points and a minus-25 rating this season. Mar 29 |
| 5 | Brian Lee ActiveBrian Lee has been shipped to Tampa Bay for Matt Gilroy. Lee has skated in 35 games with the Senators this season, while recording eight points and a minus-2 rating. He was averaging 14:38 in Ottawa, which could increase with the Lightning. Feb 27 |
| 6 | Bruno Gervais ActiveBruno Gervais got back into Tampa Bay's lineup on Monday night after missing six games with an upper-body injury. It was a successful return for the Lightning rearguard, as he finished the contest with a goal and an assist during his 12:10 of ice time. Mike Commodore sat as a healthy scratch to make room for him. Mar 20 |
| 7 | Mike Commodore ActiveThe Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired Mike Commodore from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional seventh-round draft pick. Seems like an odd move for Steve Yzerman and the Lightning considering they've been sellers up to this point and just decided to take on a depth defenseman with one year left on his deal at a $1 million cap hit. Commodore has played just 17 games with the Wings this season, tallying only two assists and 21 penalty minutes, but he'll certainly get an opportunity to play more in Tampa Bay. Regardless, there's no fantasy value here. From Detroit's side, it's a salary dump that sets them up for possibly something bigger as the 3 p.m. deadline strikes. Feb 27 |
| 8 | Mattias Ohlund I.L.Mattias Ohlund isn't sure if he can bounce back from the major knee surgery he underwent in February. "I want to give myself another chance to play and I’m hoping that’s going to happen, but who knows?" Ohlund said. He underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knees last summer before undergoing the more recent procedure. As a result, he didn't play at all in 2011-12. He'll turn 36 in September, but he's signed through the 2015-16 campaign. May 11 |
| G | 1 | Dwayne Roloson ActiveDwayne Roloson stopped 28 of the 31 shots he faced in a 4-3 overtime victory over the Winnipeg Jets. It has been a long and tough year for Dwayne Roloson and the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bolts' victory in the final game of the season should give Tampa faithful a reason to look forward to next season. Tampa Bay has a good mix of solid veterans and young talented prospects. They should be a hungry and determined team to look out for next season. Apr 7 |
| 2 | Mathieu Garon SidelinedMathieu Garon is projected to miss three to four weeks with a slight tear of his groin muscle. GM Steve Yzerman delivered the bad news on Wednesday after the team's top goaltender was injured early into Tuesday's loss to the Ottawa Senators. Tampa Bay's crease will be handed to struggling veteran Dwayne Roloson and minor-league callup Dustin Tokarski with the club just four points out of a playoff spot. Mar 7 |
| 3 | Sebastien Caron ActiveThe Tampa Bay Lightning's Sebastien Caron, playing in his home province of Quebec, had a rough outing, allowing five goals in a 5-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night. Caron was starting for the second time for the Lightning and he now owns a 1-1-0 record in three appearances with Tampa Bay this season. Apr 4 |
