Taylor Teagarden (knee) told reporters Tuesday in Orioles camp that he's at around 85 percent health.
Teagarden had two minor knee surgeries this offseason. As long as he can avoid setbacks, the 28-year-old should open the season on time as Baltimore's backup catcher.

Brian Roberts (concussion) has been hitting off a tee and playing long toss in Orioles camp.
Roberts had to skip the O's annual FanFest in January due to lingering post-concussion symptoms, but all indications are that he's now feeling better. The Orioles are said to be in "wait-and-see mode" on the veteran infielder as the 2012 season approaches. If he's finally healthy, he could again be a valuable fantasy commodity.

Nick Markakis expects to be ready for Opening Day despite undergoing "significant" surgery to repair a torn rectus abdominus muscle earlier this month.
"I'm feeling good," Markakis said. "It's a sensitive area where I got cut open and as far as pain-wise, I don't have any pain. It's just uncomfortable. It's not being able to do certain things I want to do. It seems like a long recovery, but I know it's going to be over before I know it and then we'll be rolling.'' Markakis added that he's doing a lot of pool activity to strengthen his core and that he started to do some light jogging this week. Baseball activities can begin as early as five weeks after the procedure.

Zach Britton (shoulder) is scheduled to throw off flat ground Thursday and Friday.
Britton will rest Saturday before throwing off flat ground the following three days. He's aiming to raise his "pitch count" in preparation for throwing off a mound next weekend. The 24-year-old left-hander is behind some of the other pitchers in O's camp due to left shoulder inflammation, but he still hopes to be ready for the start of the season.

Jake Arrieta (elbow) expects to be at 100 percent health when spring training opens next month.
Arrieta threw to a catcher on Monday for the first time since having a bone spur removed from his throwing elbow in August. "I'm feeling just as good or better than I've ever felt," the right-hander said Wednesday. He is locked into a rotation spot for 2012 despite posting a pedestrian 5.05 ERA and 93/59 K/BB ratio in 119 1/3 innings last season for the Orioles.

"I might surprise some people, you never know," said Crawford. "I have to make sure I don't have any setbacks but everything feels good right now."

Roberto Hernandez Heredia, formerly known as Fausto Carmona, told the Associated Press he hopes to obtain a judicial pardon and return to the Indians this season.
Hernandez was placed on baseball's restricted list last month after he was arrested in his native Dominican Republic on false identity charges. The 31-year-old is currently warning young players about the risk of using a false identity. "I'm doing all that is necessary so that when the pardon is granted, I won't have to wait long to play again," said Hernandez. His agent, Jorge Brito, is confident he'll pitch with the Indians this season.

Victor Martinez underwent microfracture surgery Friday on his left knee.
V-Mart also needs ACL reconstructive surgery, and won't undergo that for another 6-8 weeks. He has been ruled out for the 2012 season and might not be ready to begin his long road of rehab until the middle or end of this summer -- which could also affect his readiness for 2013. He batted .330/.380/.470 with 12 home runs and 103 RBI in 145 games last season for the Tigers.

Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com reports that Al Alburquerque has undergone surgery to have a screw inserted into his pitching elbow to repair a non-displaced stress fracture.
He's expected to start throwing towards the end of spring training but won't be ready to pitch for the Tigers until around the All-Star break. Alburquerque spent time on the disabled list this past season with inflammation in his elbow but was brilliant after returning, not giving up a run in 15 second-half appearances. It's a significant blow to the back end of the Tigers bullpen and might have played a part in their signing of Octavio Dotel.

Joba Chamberlain (elbow) said Wednesday that his first session off a full mound went "really, really good."
Chamberlain was throwing from a half-mound until now, so he continues to make encouraging strides in his rehabilitation from Tommy John surgery. The Yankees are hopeful he'll be able to return to the bullpen sometime in June.

Yankees activated LHP Pedro Feliciano from the 60-day disabled list.
It's just a procedural move. Feliciano underwent rotator cuff surgery in early September and is in line to miss a significant chunk of the 2012 season. This, after sitting out all of this year with shoulder problems.

Dallas Braden
Sidelined
Dallas Braden threw 25 pitches Monday in his fifth bullpen session since surgery to repair a torn capsule muscle in his shoulder last May.
"I feel like every day we're making progress in terms of being able to stretch it out a little farther, put a little more on it, and the biggest area of focus is the bounceback," said Braden. "Everything has been positive thus far in terms of that. I've continued to get stronger." Braden is expected to open the season on the disabled list, but the hope is that he could be back when the A's need a fifth starter on April 16.

Brett Anderson
Sidelined
Brett Anderson threw off a mound Monday for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery.
Anderson gave himself an "A+" after the short throwing session. The left-hander is ahead of schedule in his return from the major elbow procedure but probably won't appear in a big league game before August.

Brendan Ryan (shoulder) played catch Wednesday for the first time in Mariners' camp.
Ryan also took part in all drills without throwing. The 29-year-old is being brought along slowly after missing the final two weeks of last season with neck and shoulder injuries, but he still has plenty of time to get ready for the start of the season.

Brandon Gomes will throw his first bullpen session Tuesday since undergoing November back surgery.
If all goes well and Gomes is able to avoid setbacks over the next month-plus, he should be fully healthy by the opening of the 2012 regular season. The 27-year-old righty posted a 2.92 ERA and 32/16 K/BB ratio across 37 innings last year as a rookie and will be competing for a middle relief job in Rays camp this spring.
