As a result of a pit stop, Wallace returned to the track in 23rd as several cars opted to stay out. Following a restart with four laps remaining Wallace battled three and four-wide for position, ultimately holding off a charge from Elliott Sadler to take the checkered flag in sixth. Erik Jones incurred a penalty for an uncontrolled tire during a lap-193 caution that dropped him from fifth to 21st. He surged through the field at the end to finish 12th.

Jones would easily have scored a top-10 finish—probably a top-five—if not for the penalty. Until his salary cap increases substantially, he is going to be one of the best values in the game.
