Kyle Larson posted a lap of 94.597 mph and will lead the field to green in Sunday's Toyota/SaveMart 350k.

Larson seemed to make up most of his time in the middle of turn 11 – the final hairpin before the flagstand. That will not be a good passing zone in the race unless he can also brake hard into the corner, so his odds of winning are not significantly improved by the pole. Last year, Larson started on the pole and finished 26th.
