A blown engine on lap 20 of the Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway ended a 49-race streak of events in which Kevin Harvick was running at the end. His last failure to finish was also occasioned by a blown engine in the spring 2014 Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Now is the time to experiment before the Chase begins. The No. 4 team will reload and run well at Watkins Glen International next week, but there may be better road ringers for one’s roster.

Greg Biffle spent less than 15 laps among the top five, but one of them was critical. He advanced from 14th to fifth as cars around him were forced to take fuel and he was scored in that position at the end of the Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway.

This was Biffle’s first top-10 in the past nine weeks and only his second top-15. It is too soon to jump on his bandwagon, but momentum has shifted with less stimuli.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was one of several drivers who overcame mistakes in the pits and incidents on track Sunday at Pocono Raceway. He was caught speeding on pit road during a green flag stop near lap 50 and was later spun entering turn one. His fuel mileage strategy allowed him to cross under the checkers fourth in the Windows 10 400, however.

Hendrick Motorsports did not look like they were going to have a very good day until other cars starting running out of gas. Earnhardt finished one position behind Jeff Gordon and two ahead of Jimmie Johnson, however, and they managed to salvage the day.
Aug 2 - 5:44 PM

Jeff Gordon was running just outside the top 10 with one lap remaining in the Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway, but as drivers ran out of gas in front of him, he advanced to third at the checkers.

Gordon was one of the last drivers to pit during the last fuel stop. He was not overly strong most of the afternoon, but played the cards that were dealt him and that ultimately paid off for fantasy players.
Aug 2 - 5:34 PM

Brad Keselowski had a difficult Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway. He struck two pit crew members on about lap 55 and knocked a tire out of his box. He was penalized, lost a lap, made it back up with a Lucky Dog pass, and eventually survived a fuel mileage gamble to finish second.

The points count the same for fantasy owners even under circumstances like that, so Keselowski’s owners will pocket their luck and move on to Watkins Glen International.
Aug 2 - 5:27 PM

Matt Kenseth conserved his fuel better than anyone else on the track and scored his second win of the 2015 NASCAR season. His official lead over second-place Brad Keselowski was 9.013 seconds in the Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway.

With 10 to go Kenseth was in fourth. He watched Joey Logano, Martin Truex Jr., and Kyle Busch run out in front of him and swept past for the win on the final lap. Fuel mileage races are unpredictable, but they require a lot of skill and experience nonetheless.
