Kasey Kahne has earned four top-10s this season. His last two successes were fourth-place finishes at Richmond International Raceway and again last week at Dover International Speedway.

Before fantasy owners form a bandwagon, however, it should be noted that Kahne has not yet earned back-to-back top-15s this season. He has come close on a few occasions, however, with a three-race streak of results 17th or better in April and he finished 16th before last week’s AAA 400 top-five.

Ryan Newman has scored three top-10s and three more top-15s this season, but only once has he scored back to tack top-15s. That came at Auto Club and Martinsville Speedway early in the season when he was 14th and 10th respectively.

His lack of consistency makes it difficult to place-and-hold the driver, but he has had some solid runs nevertheless. Only three of his 12 starts this year ended worse than 18th and one of these was on the wild card track of Talladega SuperSpeedway.

David Ragan scored a season-best result of 17th in his most recent attempt at Dover International Speedway. He was three laps off the pace, however, in a race that featured significant attrition.

There is still some reason for fantasy owners to be a little hopeful, however; Ragan has finished better than he started in his last four consecutive races including a positive place-differential of seven points at Richmond International Raceway in the Toyota Owners 400

The tide turned for Michael Annett at Texas Motor Speedway, but not in a good way. In his first six starts this season, he finished on the lead lap twice and was running without incident at the end of every show.

At Texas Annett sustained crash damage and lost five laps to finish 32nd. That is part of four crashed-marred events in his last six attempts and he has failed to finish two of the last three.

According to a report by the ESPN, Matt Kenseth may lose primary sponsorship from Dollar General, which currently leaves the No. 20’s quarter panels blank for 30 races beginning next year.

This is certainly a blow to the organization and Kenseth did not perform up to the standard of his Joe Gibbs Racing teammates in the first 10 races this season. The organization is so strong, however, that it is difficult to imagine they will not fill this real estate.
