Ty Dillon is making his Sprint Cup Series debut at the 1.5-mile speedway piloting the No. 33 Plankton Chevrolet SS.

In one NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Kansas Speedway coming last October, Dillon won the pole award and finished fifth. In two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts, Dillon has two top-10 finishes. Crew chief Richard "Slugger" Labbe will be a top the pit box for this weekend's SpongeBob SquarePants 400. Labbe has five wins, 33 top-five and 91 top-10 finishes as a Sprint Cup Series crew chief, including a win at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2011 with Paul Menard.-Richard Childress Racing

In six starts at Kansas Speedway since 2009, Johnny Sauter has one win, three top-five and four top-10 finishes.

In fact, according to NASCAR'S Loop Data Statistics, Sauter ranks first among driver's entered in Friday night's Toyota Tundra 250 in the following categories; Average Running Position (8.12), Driver Rating (100.9), Fastest Laps Run (61), and Laps Led (112). NAPA AUTO PARTS will grow its relationship with 11-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports in 2016 when it becomes the majority sponsor of driver Chase Elliott and his No. 24 Chevrolet SS team.

The news was announced Tuesday evening in Las Vegas during the NAPA EXPO, which is attended by more than 17,000 store owners, managers and dealers. The expanded partnership will feature NAPA AUTO PARTS as a primary sponsor of the No. 24 team in 24 Sprint Cup races annually, including the season-opening Daytona 500, and as an associate-level partner in all other events. The agreement covers the 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons.-Hendrick Motorsports

Cole Whitt has finished between 32nd and 37th in three similarly-configured, 1.5-mile track races this year in the No. 35 Front Row Motorsports Ford.

His best result came at Vegas, but he was five laps off the pace at the checkers. Once he is able to consistently finish within one or two laps of the leaders, he will become a solid value.

In three starts on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks this year, Landon Cassill has improved every week. He blew an engine at Atlanta Motor Speedway and finished 43rd, advanced to 35th at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and was 32nd at Texas Motor Speedway.

A top-30 could be in the offing, but not just because of this statistic. Cassill has earned four such finishes in 10 attempts this season, including a 25th on the two-mile, unrestricted intermediate Auto Club Speedway.

Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) driver Matt Tifft and Venturini Motorsports (VMS) will reunite for their third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) effort this weekend in the Toyota Tundra 250 at Kansas Speedway.

The early season NCWTS pairing between Tifft and VMS continues to build momentum. Tifft finished ninth at Martinsville Speedway in his VMS prepared Toyota Tundra and claimed a top-20 finish in the NASCAR Trucks' season opener at Daytona. He has five NCWTS career starts with a pair of top-10 and top-20 finishes since making his series debut in 2014. Kansas Speedway will be his second truck start on a 1.5 mile track. The 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway, which plays host to Friday night's Toyota Tundra 250, will mark Cameron Hayley's fourth track debut of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season.

Although the young rookie has never raced at Kansas Speedway, he can look for guidance within the ThorSport Racing organization. Hayley's two veteran teammates, Matt Crafton and Johnny Sauter are the only drivers entered in the 28-truck field that have won at the Midwestern track. Furthermore, his crew chief, Jeff Hensley has 11 NCWTS starts to his resume at Kansas, including two poles (Mike Skinner, 2006 and 2007), 204 laps led, six top-five and seven top-10 finishes.-ThorSport Racing

In seven previous starts at the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway, Timothy Peters has recorded one top-five finish and two top-10 finishes, with an average starting position of 11.1 and an average finishing position of 15.1.

He has completed 1059 of 1134 laps (93.4 percent). He will drive chassis number 010 in the Toyota Tundra 250. Peters piloted this chassis to a win at Iowa in 2013 and the chassis was raced at Iowa Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway in 2014.-Red Horse Racing

Ben Kennedy has recorded only one start at Kansas Speedway, in 2014.

He started the race in the 30th position, and finished 20th in his rookie season. Kennedy will pilot chassis No. 20 from the Red Horse Racing stable. This chassis was utilized twice in 2014, at Texas Motor Speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway, and has been significantly updated since then.-Red Horse Racing

Matt Crafton, who went to victory lane at the 1.5-mile track in 2013, will not only have the same chassis he piloted to his third career victory at Kansas Speedway, he is the only driver entered in the 167-lap race that has competed in all 14 NCWTS events at the Midwestern track.

In fact, the two-time champion sets the standard for dominance at Kansas Speedway. Crafton is tied for the most top-five finishes (3), has more top-10 finishes (6), has completed more laps (2239), and has the most lead lap finishes (8) than any other active NCWTS driver entered in the 15th annual event. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Ryan Newman will compete for SWM-NEMCO Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) event at the Kansas Speedway on Friday, May 8. Newman will pilot the No. 8 Chevrolet Silverado highlighting Rescue Ranch.

Newman has five previous starts in the NCWTS, collecting a victory at Atlanta Motor Speedway (2008), a pole award at Bristol Motor Speedway, and five top-five finishes. His most recent NCWTS entry was the Mud Summer Classic at the Eldora Speedway in 2013, where he started 10th and finished third while competing for Steve Turner. In an effort to further the chemistry of the No. 9 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race team, Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) announced today Kevin Manion has been assigned as the crew chief of that team with driver Sam Hornish, Jr.

He will begin his duties immediately and call the race this weekend at Kansas Speedway. Manion has five wins in the premier Sprint Cup Series and 15 wins in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. In addition, he has led his race teams to over 60 Top-10 and 25 Top-Five finishes in his Cup career. He also has 10 poles. Manion replaces Drew Blickensderfer who has been offered another position within the organization.-Breaking Limits

Grant Enfinger was credited with a 28th place DNF in Friday night's ARCA Racing Series race at Talladega (AL) Superspeedway.

He started the No. 23 Alamo-BeasleyAllen.com Chevrolet 10th on the grid for the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200. He made it to lap 66 of the 79 laps run before exiting the event (Accident). He still managed to retain the lead in the 2015 ARCA Racing Series Championship standings by 100 points over second place David Levine (finished 11th) after the fifth race of the season.
