Kyle Busch has recorded three victories at Auto Club Speedway with the most recent of these coming in 2014.

In fact, that 2014 win was the second of consecutive victories on this track. He also has one win on the similarly-configured Michigan International Speedway. Unfortunately, his most recent win at Auto Club was his last real success on a two-mile track. In seven races since then—most of which came at Michigan—he has finished 2th or worse five times.

Austin Dillon’s finishes on two-mile tracks have run the gamut from top-10s to 30th, but he has been mostly strong on them.

Dillon has a best of fourth at Michigan International Speedway in 2015 and another top-10 there in 2016. His best Auto Club Speedway finish is 11th in 2014. Most of his efforts on this track type have been in the teens, and he has an average of .667 in regard to top-20s.

Landon Cassill has steadily improved his results in the past four years at Auto Club Speedway with a best of 16th last year.

Cassill finished 30th in 2013 with Joe Falk, had a pair of 25ths with Mike Hillman in 2014/2015, and then last year’s 16th with Front Row Motorsports. His competition for another top-20 will be much greater this week, but Cassill should be evaluated in practice.

Daniel Suarez showed gradual improvement in his first three Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races and then surged into the top 10 at Phoenix International Raceway. It will be important for him to run well at Auto Club Speedway.

Fantasy players need to trust their drivers. Great runs like the one he had a Phoenix are good for PR releases, but a solid top-20 in the Auto Club 400 will show a predictable pattern. Given the strength of Roush-Fenway Racing on this track in the past, it is a fair bet that the No. 19 will finish in the front half of the pack.

Matt DiBenedetto was one of the most pleasant surprises at Auto Club Speedway last year. He finished 27th after starting 33rd and was running on the lead lap.

Unfortunately, he was not as productive on the other two-mile track. DiBenedetto went to Michigan International Speedway and finished in the low- to mid-30s in his next two efforts and was at least five laps off the pace each time.
