May 5 - 7:30 PM

Brendan Gaughan has been heading the wrong direction on the similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks. He finished 28th at Atlanta Motor Speedway, was 38th on his home track of Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and failed to qualify at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Duck Commander 500 at Texas was one of four consecutive events for which he failed to qualify. He made the show at Talladega SuperSpeedway last week, but fantasy owners will not want to lock him in before time trials.
May 5 - 7:21 PM

Michael McDowell has been steady and consistent on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks while driving for the No. 95 Leavine Family Racing team.

In 10 starts on this track type, McDowell has earned seven results of 27th through 32nd. Another finish was 32nd, one was 35th, and he had one engine-related DNF last year. At issue is the fact that he often qualifies better than he finishes and loses place differential points.
May 5 - 7:20 PM

Alex Bowman has made three starts on similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks this year driving for Tommy Baldwin Racing. All of his results ended in a "3."

Those results were about as inconsistent as possible, however. Bowman finished 23rd at Atlanta Motor Speedway, was last with a 43rd at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and split the difference to finish 33rd at Texas Motor Speedway.
May 5 - 5:12 PM

Matt DiBenedetto failed to qualify in his first two attempts on the similarly-configured, 1.5-mile tracks of Atlanta Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He finished 34th in the Duck Commander 500 at Texas in his third attempt.

Given his lack of experience on the track type, 34th was a respectable result. Fantasy owners can expect another mid- to low-30s finish, which could make him a marginal pick if he qualifies badly enough to earn place differential points.
May 5 - 5:11 PM

Bobby Hamilton Jr. finished 22nd in Friday night's ARCA Racing Series race at Talladega (AL) Superspeedway.

He started the No. 97 Nitroforce Industries Titan 1000 Dodge 30th on the grid for the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200. He completed 77 laps of the 79 lap event. He is currently ninth in the 2015 ARCA Racing Series championship standings.
