In 2012 and 2013, Paul Menard swept the top 10 in both Bristol races, showing a consistently strong tendency on this track. He slipped this spring and finished 21st in the Food City 500.

Menard is moderately priced in most salary cap games and represents an acceptable risk for fantasy players—especially if he practices and qualifies well.

Joey Logano has been hit or miss at Bristol during his career. In 11 starts there he has two top-10s and another top-15, but he also has four results outside the top 20.

One thing has been consistent, but fantasy owners should not look at it for inspiration. Logano has finished worse than he started in all but one of his Bristol efforts. In this race last year, he improved one position from his sixth-place spot on the grid to finish fifth.

Matt Kenseth will defend his 2013 victory in the Irwin Tools Night Race. Last year he spent almost 300 of the 500 laps inside the top five on his way to grabbing the checkered flag.

That is his only top-five in the past four races, but prior to struggling in fall 2012 and spring 2013 he had a six-race, top-10 streak going at Bristol. Kenseth should be a good value this week, but fantasy owners will want to watch him closely in practice.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. entered the spring Food City 500 with a 10-race streak of finishes 16th or better at Bristol. All but one of these was a top-15 and both 2013 races ended in top-10s.

He lost a lap to the competition with a mysterious vibration this spring, which is a problem that has plagued both the No. 48 and 88 teams off and on during the season. He ultimately ended the day 24th and should be able to better that considerably on Saturday in the Irwin Tools Night Race.

Kevin Harvick brings the momentum of a second-place Michigan finish to the track this week and hopes to earn his first top-10 at Bristol since finishing sixth in the spring 2011 Jeff Byrd 500.

In the six races since then, Harvick has earned a couple of solid top-15s at Bristol, but he has also had some truly bad runs and has an average finish of 22.5.
