Has six career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts, including the Truck race at Iowa Speedway on July 11, 2014. Has made two Truck Series starts at Iowa.-K&N Pro Series

Brad Keselowski has been nearly perfect on flat tracks this year with a victory at New Hampshire and top-fives at Phoenix, Richmond, and Pocono. To score another such finish, however, he will need to avoid contact in the pits.

The two flat track races in which he finished badly both came because of a pit road incident with one of the Busch brothers. He sustained heavy damage at Martinsville because of contact with Kurt and lost the handle last week at Indy after a minor incident with Kyle.

Paul Menard entered the 2013 Party in the Poconos 400 with a six-race streak of results 16th or better. In his last three attempts, however, he has failed to crack the top 25 a single time.

Menard’s best result in that span of races was the 26th he recorded this June, but another modest showing at Indy last week calls into question his effectiveness on fantasy players’ rosters. He finished 34th in the Crown Royal 400 after making contact with Juan Pablo Montoya and the wall early in the race.
Jul 30 - 12:22 PM

Clint Bowyer has seldom stumbled at Pocono during his career, but he has rarely excelled as well. In his last 12 starts on this track he has a worst finish on only 18th and an average of 11.1, but he has recorded only one top-five. That strong run came in 2009.

Bowyer’s last three Pocono runs have been between 11th and 15th, which is about where fantasy players can expect him to land this week. If he fits ones of the final slots on a roster, that level of consistency makes him a good fantasy value.
Jul 30 - 12:08 PM

Kurt Busch has been uneven at times during the 2014 season, but he enters the GoBowling.com 400 weekend with a three-race, top-10 streak at Pocono.

Busch missed the June 2012 event due to a penalty, but he swept the top five in 2011. That gives him four top-fives and another top-10 in his last six starts on this track. Because of his erratic finishes elsewhere this year, he will not be particularly popular, which means fantasy players might catch their competition by surprise.
Jul 30 - 11:47 AM

Dale Earnhardt Jr. surged into the top 10 in the closing laps of last week’s Crown Royal 400 at Indy. His ninth-place finish in that race extended his top-10 streak on flat tracks to nine consecutive events stretching back to last year’s Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire.

Earnhardt is the only driver this season with a perfect record of top-10s and that suggests he should be on most fantasy rosters. Moreover, Pocono has long been one of Hendrick Motorsports best tracks throughout that organization’s history.
Jul 30 - 10:46 AM

Martin Truex Jr. is showing an uneven tendency on flat tracks in 2014. In six starts he has top 15 finishes at Richmond, Pocono, and New Hampshire but his other three efforts ended in the 20s at Phoenix, Martinsville, and Indy.

Truex should be watched closely this week for signs that he will return to his top-15 form. If he practices and qualifies well in GoBowling.com 400’s preliminary events he could be one of this week’s best dark horses.
Jul 30 - 10:10 AM

Greg Biffle swept the top 10 last year at Pocono with a second in the Party in the Poconos 400 and a 10th in the GoBowling.com 400. This June, he could manage to finish only 16th in Pocono’s first race.

Biffle’s flat track record in general has been anemic in 2014 with the 13th-place finish he recorded last week at Indy as his high-water mark. Biffle should only be used if he fits a specific niche on a fantasy player’s roster.

Cole Custer is anxiously awaiting his return this week to Iowa Speedway for this year’s second NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combination race, the Autolite Iridium XP 150, on Friday.

Sixteen-year-old Custer led wire-to-wire to win the event a year ago and hopes to repeat and become the first driver with multiple victories in the prestigious East-West race. Custer’s win at Iowa last year marked his first of two series victories in his rookie season. This year, the 16-year-old from Ladera Ranch, California is competing in select events in the East and West divisions of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series. This will mark his sixth overall series start of 2014, driving BMR’s No. 00 NAPA AUTO PARTS/HAAS Automation entry.-BMR Racing

Kasey Kahne is still seeking his first victory of the season, which would essentially lock him into the Chase.

Last week Kahne led the most laps in the Brickyard 400 and these two courses are among the most comparable on the circuit, so this is perhaps his best opportunity to find Victory Lane. With Michigan and Atlanta still to come before the Chase begins, he still has a couple of other strong tracks ahead.
Jul 30 - 9:58 AM

Nick Drake's advanced statistics for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combined Autolite Iridium XP 150 at the Iowa Speedway.

Nick Drake (No. 15 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota) has three top fives and six top 10s in 11 career K&N Pro Series East starts. Ranks seventh in the championship standings. Finished season-best second at Iowa Speedway on May 17. Collected first series top-five finish (4th) on Feb. 18 at Daytona International Speedway. Finished third in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West 2014 season opener at Phoenix International Raceway.-K&N Pro Series

With one victory and a second-place finish in his last two GoBowling.com 400s, Jeff Gordon has a great opportunity to win back-to-back races for the first time since 2007. That year he won the UAW-Ford 500 at Talladega and the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte in consecutive weeks.

In last year’s edition of the GoBowling.com 400 Kasey Kahne passed Gordon on a late-race restart to win. Last week Gordon returned the favor. Pocono has long been one of Gordon’s best tracks and he leads all drivers with six wins.
