Denny Hamlin will line up on the outside of the front row next to Joey Logano for the Toyota Owners 400. It is his first front row start at Richmond since he won the pole for the 2008 Crown Royal 400.

Hamlin has two front row starts to his credit and they are both poles. His best result after starting that well was 15th in his rookie season of 2006, but on the heels of a strong Martinsville run three weeks ago he has the confidence to win a second straight Virginia race.

Joey Logano posted a lap of 127.071 mph and won the pole for Saturday night’s Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway. This is his 11th career pole.

This is Logano’s third pole of the season - the most of all drivers - and that has been a precursor to strong runs all year. He led the field to green at Atlanta in March before finishing fourth and came home third at Martinsville after posting the fastest lap in time trials on that flat bullring.

Johanna Long (No. 03 Mike Affarano Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro) does not qualify for the XFINITY Series ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond International Raceway.

The team is not guaranteed a start in this weekend’s NXS race. Based on NASCAR’s time trial knockout procedure, upon completion of the first round of qualifying, the 40 eligible cars for starting positions 1-40 is determined. The car was listed as 42nd on the chart.

Morgan Shepherd (No. 89 Courtney Construction Chevrolet Camaro) will miss the XFINITY Series ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond International Raceway.

Sprint Cup regular Denny Hamlin (No. 11 Toyota Camry) won the Coors Light Pole Award for the ToyotaCare 250 with a lap of 21.762 seconds, 124.069 mph.

This is the No. 20 Hisense Toyota driver's 17th pole in 147 NASCAR XFINITY Series races. This is his first pole and third top-10 NXS start in 2015 and his third pole in 14 NXS races at Richmond (VA) International Raceway.
Apr 24 - 5:13 PM

Carl Edwards posted the second-quickest 10-lap average in final practice for the Toyota Owners 400. His top speed was 122.181 mph during his first 10 laps on track.

Speed has not been an issue for Edwards all season. He has put himself in dangerous spots by trying too hard to establish the No. 19 as a car to beat. Unfortunately, that intangible is not one that can be factored into a handicapping formula.

Venturini Motorsports will field the No. 55 JEGS Toyota driven by Joe Gibbs Racing development driver, Cody Coughlin for the ARCA Racing Series International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 on May 1 at Talladega Superspeedway.

This will give the VMS team a solid three-car effort in an event where teammates can make or break your chances to visit victory lane. Coughlin will be working with VMS teammates Frank Kimmel (No. 15 Toyota) and Richard Childress Racing development driver, Brandon Jones (No. 25 Toyota).-Venturini Motorsports

Thanks to a collaborative effort between Venturini Motorsports, Menards, Tide, 101 Ranch Records and Richmond Water Heaters, the team will now field both Brandon Jones and Frank Kimmel in the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 on May 1 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Jones will pilot the No. 25 Tide-Menards Toyota, while Kimmel will slide behind the wheel of the No. 15 101 Ranch Records-Menards Toyota. Jones will be debuting the bright orange Tide colors, a relationship he will carry on to the NASCAR XFINITY Series at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 21. Both drivers were originally scheduled to split the 20-race ARCA schedule with 10 races each (in the No. 25 Menards Toyota) with Talladega reserved for Jones.-Venturini Motorsports

AJ Allmendinger was notably strong in the final practice session for the Toyota Owners 400. He posted the third-quickest speed among 32 drivers in final practice at 122.139 mph from laps two through 11.

Allmendinger started the season high in the points until a couple of misfortunate races derailed his effort. This could put him back on track to climb into the top 16 once more, but starting him does not come without risk.
Apr 24 - 3:33 PM

NASCAR veteran driver and TV personality Kenny Wallace will pilot the No. 26 Toyota next week at Talladega Superspeedway for the NASCAR XFINITY Series race.

This will be his 40th career start at Talladega - with 24 of those previous starts coming in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. His best Cup finish at 'Dega came in 2000 where he finished second as he pushed the late Dale Earnhardt to the win. The JGL Racing team planned on Mike Wallace driving the No. 26 next week (like he did in the season opening XFINITY race in Daytona) however, over last weekend Mike underwent triple bypass heart surgery. With a replacement needed, Kenny and his strong success at Talladega was a logical choice to fill in for his brother.-Integrity Sports Marketing

Kevin Harvick posted the quickest time in the final practice session for the Toyota Owners 400. His top speed of 122.212 mph was set from laps five through 14.

Harvick’s incredible start to the 2015 season took a momentary hit at Bristol when he crashed in the aftermath of the Jimmie Johnson/Jeb Burton kerfuffle, but there is no way that is going to stall his momentum.

Sprint Cup regular Denny Hamlin led the only practice session for the XFINITY Series ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond International Raceway.

His lap of 124.850 mph in the No. 20 Hisense Toyota Camry was the quickest of the 42 cars running in this session. No. 22 Joey Logano, No. 33 Austin Dillon, No. 98 Aric Almirola and No. 54 Erik Jones are the rest of the top five on the speed chart. No. 03 Johanna Long was the slowest. Hamlin also had a 10-lap average speed of 121.934 mph. This was the best of the 27 cars running at least 10 consecutive laps.
Apr 24 - 3:08 PM

Kasey Kahne posted the fastest single lap in the final practice session for the Toyota Owners 400. His top speed of 126.357 mph was set in the final minutes of practice when track conditions are the closest to what drivers will face Friday night.

Kahne has been on the cusp of being a great value all season, but he seems to be star-crossed. There is no empirical reason to avoid him in the race, but fantasy owners are fairly nervous.
Apr 24 - 2:30 PM

Landon Cassill posted the quickest 10-lap average in the first practice session with a speed of 123.336 mph from laps two through 11.

Last week during a Bristol rain delay, Cassill tweeted about his confidence at Richmond. It would seem he knows what he is talking about and could be one of this week’s top dark horses.
