Hawks coach Larry Drew says he will interview for the Bucks' head-coaching vacancy on Monday.

It might seem strange for a coach under contract to be interviewing elsewhere, but Drew told Hawks beat writer Chris Vivlamore that he and GM Danny Ferry agreed to allow Drew to interview elsewhere. Drew said he won't rule out returning to coach the Hawks but said he's "moved on from the situation" in Atlanta. Meanwhile, Ferry has already interviewed at least three candidates to replace Drew and there was a report the number is actually bigger than that. It seems only a matter of time until Drew is no longer officially employed by Atlanta.

Danny Ferry - F - Hawks

The Hawks interviewed Stan Van Gundy and Mike Budenholzer for their still-vacant head-coaching position, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Van Gundy and Budenholzer would the second and third candidates to interview with Hawks GM Danny Ferry along with Nate McMillan. Yahoo! Sports reported previously that Ferry is also interested in hiring CSKA Moscow coach Ettore Messina. It's unknown whether the Hawks have interviewed Messina, but the Journal-Constitution reported that Ferry has interviewed other unknown candidates. At this point, it seems clear that Ferry is casting a wide net but is playing his cards very close to the vest.

Danny Ferry - F - Hawks

The Hawks are interested in making Ettore Messina their head coach, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Messina is the coach of CSKA Moscow and has some street cred among NBA GMs. In fact, when Hawks GM Danny Ferry was in Cleveland, he had his coach Mike Brown travel overseas to study Messina's offense. The Hawks have also interviewed Nate McMillan this week and they're looking to replace Larry Drew.

Kyle Korver - G/F - Hawks

The Hawks and unrestricted free agent Kyle Korver have a mutual interest in bringing Korver back to the team.

The team said they'd like to work something out with Korver, and the sharpshooter said he "really enjoyed my year here in Atlanta." Korver gave a very strong endorsement, saying "I like the same basketball that he [GM Danny Ferry] likes. I'm very open to coming back here." Korver will be in high demand in free agency, and with the Hawks needing to remake their entire roster, it's unclear what Korver's future holds.

Zaza Pachulia - F/C - Hawks

Zaza Pachulia (Achilles) is progressing well in his rehab.

"It's great," he said. "I don't have any crutches. So I'm moving every day. I can't wait to start working in the gym." It sounds like Pachulia is aiming to be ready for training camp, but he'll need to clear several hurdles before that can happen. The doctors have told him he should be able to be ready for camp, so we'd expect he will be barring any setbacks. He's an unrestricted free agent.

Jeff Teague - G - Hawks

The Hawks didn't even make restricted free agent Jeff Teague an extension offer before last October's deadline.

The Hawks could be regretting not locking up Teague earlier. Now he's a restricted free agent and coming off his best season as a pro. Teague set career-highs in points (14.6), assists (7.2) and 3-pointers per game (1.1). He'll likely be asking for something just less than fellow point guards Ty Lawson (4 years, $48M) and Jrue Holiday (4 years, $41M) got last fall. The Hawks could also just make Teague a qualifying offer and then decide to match or decline any offer sheets that come in.

Larry Drew - C - Hawks

Larry Drew's fate as head coach of the Hawks may take a week or longer to be decided.

Drew is known to be skating on thin ice in regards to his future with the Hawks, but a "final determination may not be made until next week or perhaps later." GM Danny Ferry gave no timetable for a decision on Drew, but it would be a surprise if he let the situation linger too long.

Al Horford - F/C - Hawks

Al Horford plans to do offseason work with the Hawks training staff in order to get his body fully healthy.

"I’m thinking about probably spending time here. We have really good trainers and a strength coach and now that they are going to be able to work with me with not as much pressure of a season, I think that is going to be really big for me to spend time getting right," Horford said. The big man also said he finds this offseason "intriguing" with Atlanta's cap space and gave an endorsement of GM Danny Ferry's plan.

The Hawks could replace Larry Drew with either Mike Budenholzer or Quin Snyder, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

Drew and his staff are reportedly considering themselves "free agents" as they're not expected to be retained by the Hawks. GM Danny Ferry wants to install his own personnel on the bench, leaving little wiggle room for Drew. After it was previously reported Drew would have interest in coaching the Sixers, Stein reports that he's expected to receive consideration with the Sixers.

Hawks coach Larry Drew and his staff have "begun exploring other job opportunities," according to Yahoo! Sports.

There is reportedly a "slim chance" that GM Danny Ferry will retain Drew, whose contract expires this summer. Job performance doesn't seem to be the main issue, as the Hawks made the playoffs every year under Drew despite Joe Johnson's departure, but the Hawks only have three players under contract for 2013-14 and they're looking to change the team's "culture." Drew has already been linked to the 76ers' vacant head coaching job.

Devin Harris - G - Hawks

Devin Harris will get another PRP injection in his ailing toe.

Harris' left toe bothered him for almost all of the season, and after another injection, Harris plans to simply rest to let the injury calm down. As for his future, Harris would not commit to returning to the Hawks, a sentiment that may be mutual as Atlanta enters the offseason.

Zaza Pachulia - F/C - Hawks

Zaza Pachulia said he'd like to re-sign with the Hawks.

"How can I not (want to be back)," Pachulia said. "I’ve been here eight years. I call Atlanta home." Pachulia is coming off of surgery for a partially torn Achilles tendon, but he should generate plenty of interest in free agency as a very capable backup big man off the bench who could start in a pinch.

Lou Williams - G - Hawks

Lou Williams (knee surgery) said that his rehab is "coming along great."

Williams called the summer a big one for himself, referring to it as a "challenge that I'm ready for." Williams still can't even jog, so he's got a long ways to go before he's ready to play. Williams was able to ride a stationary bike without knee pain for the first time last week and is also doing stand-still shooting, but he's got several hurdles left to clear.

Larry Drew indicated that he'd like to learn his status with the Hawks "sooner rather than later."

Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Drew does "not want the process to linger," and he also said he'd like to continue coaching if he's let by go the Hawks. It's been reported that Drew would have interest in the Sixers head coaching position if he winds up out in Atlanta.

Kyle Korver - G/F - Hawks

The Hawks have "indicated" that they'd like to re-sign Kyle Korver.

Atlanta is rich with cap space and will be entering a huge offseason, and keeping Korver on a reasonable deal seems like a beneficial move for both sides. However, Korver will be in demand after nailing 2.6 3-pointers per game and doing so at a 45.7 percent clip, so the Hawks could just as easily lose him to another team.
