Mirza Teletovic had the green light again on Monday with 10 attempts from beyond the arc against the 76ers, making three of them for nine points with 11 rebounds, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes.

He missed all five of his shots inside the arc in this one. Teletovic had 2.8 triples per game in the preseason and he'll have a legitimate chance to make that many while Brook Lopez (foot) is out. He's a sneaky late-round pick for owners who neglected 3-pointers.
Oct 20 - 11:24 PM

Bojan Bogdanovic made just 1-of-5 from the field for four points with three rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 27 minutes on Monday.

He started at small forward and that looks like that's where he'll be on opening night. Bogdanovic hasn't quite clicked on offense yet, but he'll have to really struggle the rest of the way in the preseason to lose his starting distinction. He's a late-round target in 16-team leagues.
Oct 20 - 11:16 PM

Mason Plumlee had a field day against the 76ers on Monday with 20 points, 17 rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and five turnovers in 30 minutes.

He shot 8-of-11 from the field and 4-of-12 from the line in an Andre Drummond-like outing. Plumlee is obviously going to benefit in a big way from the Brook Lopez (injury), so fantasy owners missing out on a big man shouldn't be shy about grabbing him near pick No. 100 for the short term and perhaps more.
Oct 20 - 11:12 PM

Kevin Garnett (stomach virus) will not travel to Boston for Wednesday's preseason game.

Garnett has been very sick with this stomach virus, but he should be ready for opening night. Still, he's not going to be worth drafting in most leagues after posting 6.5 points and 6.6 rebounds last season.
Oct 20 - 7:06 PM

Andrei Kirilenko will start in place of Mirza Teletovic on Monday as the Nets take on the 76ers.

Head coach Lionel Hollins said that he just wants to get a different look with Kirilenko in the starting lineup, but Teletovic will play. Kirilenko is capable of putting up serviceable lines while healthy, but the problem is the only time AK-47 made it through a full 82-game season was his rookie year in 2001. Kirilenko was limited to just 45 games last season, and we wouldn't recommend drafting him in standard leagues.
Oct 20 - 6:46 PM

Markel Brown will not play against the Sixers on Monday.

He has a stomach bug and has been back out on the practice court after breaking his hand over the summer. Brown is likely headed to the D-League.
Oct 20 - 1:28 PM

Kevin Garnett (illness) will not play against the Sixers on Monday.

He has a stomach bug and missed Sunday's game against the Celtics. Garnett is expected to start this season, but his minutes won't be much higher than 20 per game. Fantasy owners in most leagues can ignore him unless it's a plug-and-play on a light Thursday night or something.
Oct 20 - 1:26 PM

Jarrett Jack scored 17 points off the Brooklyn bench on 7-of-12 shooting while adding two rebounds, two assists, and one 3-pointer.

He looked good tonight and he should have no trouble seeing minutes off of the bench for Brooklyn. Given Deron William's injury history, Jack will be a solid deep league asset and an excellent handcuff or D-Will owners. Don't burn more than a late-round pick on him though.
Oct 19 - 6:01 PM

Jerome Jordan went 7-of-7 from the field Sunday, scoring 17 points to go along with six rebounds and one block.

When asked about Jordan's performance, coach Lionel Hollins said, "Jerome who? I thought that was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar." All joking aside, it was a great performance from a player who just recently signed a training camp deal. However, unless he continues to put stats up like this he may not even make the regular-season roster.
Oct 19 - 5:56 PM

Deron Williams posted 16 points and added three rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 25 minutes Sunday.

He looked good tonight, apart from the four turnovers, and the Nets are really going to have to rely on him to lead the team this year. Williams is one of the most injury-prone players in the league and has battled ankle injuries for many years now, but if he can stay healthy, he could have a big year. If you are looking for a good risk/reward pick, you will have to gamble on him in the third or fourth round.
Oct 19 - 5:49 PM

Mason Plumlee started during Sunday's historic 44-minute NBA game but only posted six points and four rebounds in 21 minutes.

He had four turnovers and didn't look comfortable out there. Regardless, Plumlee has a chance to get some major minutes this season with Kevin Garnett fading away and Brook Lopez coming off a major foot injury. He is worth a look as a late-round flier if you are patient.
Oct 19 - 5:43 PM

Kevin Garnett (stomach virus) will not suit up for Sunday's preseason game vs. the Celtics.

Garnett has been dealing with this stomach virus since Friday, but he should be a go for opening night. Head coach Lionel Hollins has stated that he has no plans of resting Garnett in back-to-back sets, and that he sees Garnett getting more than 20 minutes a game. However, after a season in which he averaged just 6.5 points and 6.6 rebounds, Garnett is merely a late-round flier at best.
Oct 19 - 1:35 PM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson (rest) didn't practice on Saturday.

He's fine and just had the day off. Johnson slips in drafts and he should have no problem outperforming his ADP in the later rounds, especially with Paul Pierce in Washington.
Oct 18 - 4:23 PM

Both Kevin Garnett (stomach virus) and Joe Johnson (rest) did not participate in practice on Saturday.

Garnett missed Friday's practice with the same stomach virus so that's obviously something that's lingering. The Nets have only played two preseason games so far. As of right now Johnson should be considered likely to play on Sunday against Boston while Garnett's status is in question.
Oct 18 - 12:11 PM

Coach Lionel Hollins said that he "has no desire to change anything right now," with regards to the starting lineup, meaning Bogdanovic looks like the starting small forward.

Bogdanovic hasn't been extraordinary so far, but he has been efficient. He scored 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, including a 3-pointer, three assists, and one turnover during Brooklyn's preseason win over Sacramento, and he's worth keeping an eye on as a potential late-round target.
