Deron Williams (ribs) went through the majority of Thursday's practice, however, he remains out for Friday's game vs. the Raptors.

Williams was able to go through some contact portions of Thursday's practice, so he is certainly making progress. We'll continue to monitor his status closely, but with Williams out, Jarrett Jack will continue to play heavy minutes for Brooklyn. Jack had taken the starting gig away from Williams even before the injury, so there are no guarantees that Williams will immediately return to the starting lineup when he's 100 percent.

Brook Lopez had 18 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in Wednesday's loss to the Hawks.

He's back to coming off the bench with Kevin Garnett back in action, but looked pretty good. Bro-Lo had scored a total of 10 points with six rebounds over his previous two games, so tonight's line was a huge improvement. And if you fully trust him after this one, we've got some swamp land in Florida you might be interested in. Having said that, he is still worth owning and should come closer to tonight's line on most nights, as opposed to the pair of duds he posted previously.
Jan 29 - 1:47 AM

Alan Anderson started at small forward on Wednesday and had 15 points, six assists, a steal and two 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

Bojan Bogdanovic and Sergey Karasev failed their starting tests, so now it's apparently Anderson's turn. He was solid tonight, so we'll have to see if he can keep it going. If you're in a deep league and need a warm body with a barren waiver wire, Anderson might be worth grabbing.
Jan 29 - 1:40 AM

Jarrett Jack had 14 points, five rebounds, 13 assists, two steals and two 3-pointers on 5-of-13 shooting in Wednesday's loss at Atlanta.

This was Jack's third double-double in January and the 13 dimes marked a season high for a Nets player. He's played well for the most part over the last month, although when he has a bad game, it's usually pretty bad. Deron Williams (ribs) missed his 10th straight game tonight, but seems to be nearing a return. But unless you see him starting and Jack becoming irrelevant, hang onto JJ until further notice.
Jan 29 - 1:38 AM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

Joe Johnson hit 10-of-19 shots and three 3-pointers for 26 points, but didn't do much else in Wednesday's loss to the Hawks, his former team.

It's probably not a coincidence that his first 20-point game of January came against the Hawks, but he didn't get much revenge as they won their 17th straight game. Johnson's worth owning, but isn't a must-start player, and unfortunately, he can't play the Hawks every time out.
Jan 29 - 1:34 AM

Alan Anderson will start in place of Bojan Bogdanovic against the Hawks on Wednesday.

Bogdanovic is back in the doghouse after five really bad games. Anderson has not been great or anything and the move is more about the struggles of the rookie. Anderson is only worth a look in very deep leagues.

The Nets released a statement on Wednesday saying that Mirza Teletovic (lungs) will make a full recovery.

He obviously won't play again this season, but this is fantastic news and hopefully this means we will see him back out on the court soon. Teletovic is flying home to New York on Wednesday, and we will continue to track his progress every step of the way. Expect Cory Jefferson, Bojan Bogdanovic and Brook Lopez to see some extra minutes for the foreseeable future.

Mirza Teletovic (lungs) was released from the hospital on Wednesday and will now fly home to New York.

His playing career is still up in the air, so we can only hope that we will see him back in the NBA soon. We will track his progress very closely as he recovers from this ailment, and we with him all the best. Teletovic's minutes will be soaked up by Cory Jefferson, Bojan Bogdanovic and Brook Lopez.

The All-Star Slam Dunk contest will include Mason Plumlee, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Oladipo, and Zach LaVine.

It's definitely an intriguing group to watch this season, but it's no secret that the dunk contest has lost a lot of steam in recent years, so hopefully these players turn that around. Plumlee, Giannis and Oladipo have been must-own players this season, but rookie Zach LaVine has had a tough time adapting to life in the NBA. LaVine should be in his element for this contest though, and should be considered to be the favorite to win the competition.
Jan 27 - 7:11 PM

Mirza Teletovic (blood clots in lungs) will need to be driven across the US back to Brooklyn after being discharged from an LA hospital, as it is too dangerous for him to fly.

Teletovic is set to miss the remainder of the 2014-15 season, and we wish him the best in his recovery. It's not clear exactly how long Teletovic will be unable to fly, but if this is a long-term thing, it could put his career in jeopardy. Teletovic's reserve minutes will likely fall to guys like Cory Jefferson, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Brook Lopez.

Deron Williams (ribs) will miss Wednesday's game against the Hawks.

Williams was able to participate in the non-contact parts of practice on Tuesday, but he will miss his tenth consecutive game on Wednesday. Jarrett Jack will again get the start in D-Will's place and will likely continue to start in the short-term once Williams returns as the Nets ease him back into the rotation.

Pat Riley strongly denied a rumor that the Heat have interest in a Brook Lopez trade.

It's hard to see how a deal between the two sides was ever going to line up. Miami is known to be prioritizing cap flexibility, and Riley won't blow it on an oft-injured center who would steal playing time from the emerging Hassan Whiteside. As has been the case with most Lopez rumors to this point, this one appears to be filled with hot air.
Jan 26 - 9:26 AM
Joe Johnson - G/F - Nets

The Charlotte Hornets and the Brooklyn Nets have started trade conversations involving Joe Johnson and Lance Stephenson.

It's pretty obvious that the Hornets and Lance Stephenson aren't exactly on the same page, and with Brooklyn falling down the Eastern Conference standings it's not surprising to see them so open to moving Johnson's massive contract. Gerald Henderson and Marvin Williams are also said to be in the discussion, so this is definitely a move that could have some fantasy implications. Johnson's value would be fine in Charlotte, while Stephenson should see a much larger role in Brooklyn should he be traded there. Stay tuned.

Jarrett Jack scored 16 points with four rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one 3-pointer against the Jazz during a 108-73 loss on Saturday.

Deron Williams (ribs) could be back at some point, but Jack is just playing too well for his owners to make a proactive cut. He is worth owning in all standard leagues even though there's a chance he's traded for a draft pick.
Jan 25 - 12:10 AM

Cory Jefferson played just 10 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday with two points and one block.

He is likely going to see more playing time than this soon. The Nets are one of the coldest teams in the NBA now and it's only a matter of time until they unload Brook Lopez. Just keep an eye on Jefferson in most leagues because his upside isn't too high.
