Coach Gus Bradley called out Blake Bortles, saying "We expect more."

"He can play better," Bradley said. "At times, he holds the ball a little too long. … His decision-making isn’t as quick as we need it to be. … He’s young, but we expect more." Bortles has been a turnover and sack-taking machine with 15 interceptions and 27 sacks absorbed across nine game and eight starts. The offensive line is part to blame, but Bortles also holds onto the ball too long. Losing Allen Robinson (foot) doesn't help, either, as OC Jedd Fisch took the air out of the ball in Week 12. The Jaguars will hope for some signs of progress the next five weeks.
Nov 26 - 10:24 AM

Jaguars TE Clay Harbor played six snaps in Week 12.

He's been demoted far down the depth chart with Marcedes Lewis back healthy. "I'm the No. 3 now," said Harbor. "I was surprised by it. It was hard. My role is now on special teams." He's safe to drop in 20-team leagues.
Nov 24 - 3:40 PM

Marcedes Lewis caught one pass for minus-five yards in the Jaguars' Week 12 loss to the Colts.

Making his return from I.R./recall thanks to a badly sprained ankle, Lewis was targeted three times. He was Blake Bortles' intended receiver on his first pass of the game, but it was picked off by Vontae Davis. Bortles later tried to hit Lewis in the corner of the end zone on a fade, but it failed. Lewis is a TE2.
Nov 23 - 5:09 PM

Cecil Shorts caught one pass for six yards in the Jaguars' Week 12 loss to the Colts.

Shorts didn't see a target until deep into the second half. One of our favorite Week 12 value plays, Shorts couldn't get anything going with Blake Bortles crumbling in the pocket and refusing to take any shots downfield. Shorts will be a WR4 against Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and the Giants in Week 13.
Nov 23 - 5:05 PM

Allen Hurns caught one pass for 13 yards in the Jaguars' Week 12 loss to the Colts.

Hurns was targeted four times as he got the start opposite Cecil Shorts in place of Allen Robinson (foot, I.R.). The Jaguars' passing game is brutal outside of garbage time, leaving none of the receivers as more than WR4 plays. Hurns and the Jaguars get the Giants at home in Week 13.
Nov 23 - 4:58 PM

Marqise Lee caught three passes for 52 yards in the Jaguars' Week 12 loss to the Colts.

Lee and Denard Robinson each had a team-high five targets on a brutal day for the Jaguars' passing game. Lee played in three-wide sets behind Allen Hurns and Cecil Shorts. His big gain was a 37-yard catch-and-run down to the one-yard line on a slant pattern. The Jaguars were unable to get the ball into the end zone on the next four plays, turning the ball over on downs. Lee is merely a WR5.
Nov 23 - 4:52 PM

Toby Gerhart rushed for 31 yards on four carries in the Jaguars' Week 12 loss to the Colts.

Gerhart added three catches for 19 yards. His big gain was an impressive 23-yard run on a zone run left for a first down into the open field. Other than that, Gerhart was kept held in check, along with Denard Robinson. Shoelace continues to dominate touches, leaving Gerhart useless in 12-team leagues.
Nov 23 - 4:40 PM

Denard Robinson rushed 14 times for 25 yards in the Jaguars' Week 12 loss to the Colts.

He added four catches for 47 yards to save his fantasy day. But after Jonas Gray ripped the Colts for 201 yards and four touchdowns in Week 11, it was quite the disappointment from Shoelace. He received one carry from the one-yard line but took a two-yard loss on the play. The Jaguars return home next weekend to face the Giants' league-worst run defense. Robinson will be a solid RB2.
Nov 23 - 4:28 PM

Blake Bortles completed 15-of-27 passes for 146 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception in the Jaguars' 23-3, Week 12 loss to the Colts.

He absorbed four sacks for a total loss of 32 yards. Coming off the bye, the Jaguars' offense was horrible, showing no creativity and taking zero shots downfield. Bortles had a couple passes batted at the line and was picked off by Vontae Davis on his first throw of the game. The pass was well behind Marcedes Lewis. Bortles isn't even an option in two-quarterback leagues. Hopefully for the Jaguars' sake, he'll take a step or two forward over the final five games. The Giants are up next for the Jags.
Nov 23 - 4:17 PM

Jaguars declared DE Andre Branch, MLB Jeremiah George, WR Mike Brown, RB Storm Johnson, OT Sam Young, OG Tyler Shatley, and WR Teddy Williams inactive for Week 12 against the Colts.

Branch tore his groin in Week 7. Brown and Johnson are healthy scratches.
Nov 23 - 11:35 AM

Suspended WR Justin Blackmon recently completed a drug-rehabilitation program.

Blackmon revealed that fact to a judge in Edmond, Ok. on Thursday, where he was pleading no contest to misdemeanor marijuana possession. The charge will be dropped to misdemeanor disorderly conduct if Blackmon "does not commit any crimes in the next six months." He's tentatively trending toward reinstatement in 2015.
Nov 20 - 2:29 PM

Allen Hurns (concussion) is no longer on the Jaguars' injury report.

Hurns is fully cleared as the Jags come out of their bye. Coach Gus Bradley has already announced Hurns as the new starter opposite Cecil Shorts with Allen Robinson (foot) done for the year. It gives him a bit of upside as a garbage-time dependent WR4 in Sunday's game at Indy.
Nov 20 - 8:35 AM

The Florida Times Union believes the Jaguars "seem to have lost all faith" in LB LaRoy Reynolds.

Reynolds, a second-year UDFA out of Virginia, looked like an up-and-comer late last season and early into 2014. He was nails against the run as the strong-side linebacker, recording 12 "stops" between Week 16 of 2013 and Week 3 of this season. Reynolds has played just 27 defensive snaps since Week 3, even with the multitude of injuries and lack of talent at linebacker for the Jags.
Nov 19 - 9:20 AM

Coach Gus Bradley said Allen Hurns, not Marqise Lee, will replace Allen Robinson (foot) in the starting lineup.

Hurns will start opposite Cecil Shorts and play just about every snap, with Lee functioning as the No. 3. It's a role we'd have more excitement about if Hurns had more consistency and Blake Bortles wasn't so error-prone. Shorts is the one more likely to see volume and take advantage of the garbage-time stats that will inevitably come. Hurns, expected to get cleared off his concussion in time for Week 12 at Indy, is a WR4.

Jaguars activated TE Marcedes Lewis (ankle) from injured reserve/designated to return.

Lewis has been activated when first eligible, suggesting he'll be ready to roll for Sunday's game against the Colts. Lewis caught eight passes for 106 yards and a touchdown in two games before going down this season. His return should just about kill Clay Harbor's TE2 value. Lewis will be an uninspiring TE2 option himself.
