Jaguars DT Sen'Derrick Marks (knee) is expected to miss the entire preseason.

Marks opened training camp on active/PUP, but remains confident he’ll be ready for Week 1. He’s eight months removed from ACL surgery. Marks is fully expected to avoid the Jaguars' reserve/PUP list.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley doesn’t expect pass protection to be an issue for rookie T.J. Yeldon.

Yeldon is locked into early-down work, and has potential to start the year as a thee-down back. "He’s got really good instincts," Bradley said. "He’s got some work to do on protections, but it’s not [a problem of] picking it up in the classroom. He’s very sharp. Just needs reps on it." Yeldon is more advanced in pass protection than most rookies coming from Alabama's pro-style offense. He's been pass blocking since he was a true freshman.

Storm Johnson (illness) expects to return to practice next week.

Johnson opened training camp on the active/NFI list, but is considered day to day. He's at risk of getting cut after disappointing at OTAs. Johnson is competing with UDFA Corey Grant and Bernard Pierce for the final running back spot.
Aug 1 - 4:58 PM

Coach Gus Bradley declined to give a timetable on when RE Chris Clemons will be cleared to practice.

Clemons is currently on active/NFI after he missed the first day of training camp for personal reasons. "I won’t get into that,’’ Bradley said. "The injury thing we knew in talking to him that it could be a strong possibility. There’s still some things we need to work with him personally but he’s here and I appreciate that." With Clemons sidelined, Andre Branch is working as the first-team LEO rusher.
Aug 1 - 4:45 PM

Marqise Lee has been "noticeably inconsistent" at training camp.

After missing OTAs with a knee injury, Lee has struggled with his conditioning. He's also had drop issues and displayed bad form in offense-only drills. Limited to 13 games (492 snaps) as a rookie, Lee has done nothing to make him a second-year leap candidate. Lee remains behind Allen Hurns at Z receiver.
Aug 1 - 4:34 PM

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said he hasn’t had any contact with suspended WR Justin Blackmon.

Multiple offseason reports suggest Blackmon was denied reinstatement by the NFL. Blackmon is currently set to miss an unprecedented 40 games on indefinite suspension. An elite on-field talent, Blackmon’s career has been derailed by multiple Stage 3 violations. The Florida Times-Union believes it’s "uncertain" if Blackmon will return in 2016.
Aug 1 - 4:25 PM

Jaguars RE Chris Clemons reported to training camp Friday.

Clemons didn't report on Thursday with an unknown "personal issue," and coach Gus Bradley wanted to see some "urgency" out of the veteran after he sat out all of OTAs and minicamp. After losing No. 3 overall pick Dante Fowler to a torn ACL, the Jaguars are again counting on 33-year-old Clemons for pressure.
Jul 31 - 8:44 AM

Marqise Lee is expected to be a full participant when the Jaguars begin training camp practices on Friday.

Dogged by injuries since his final year at USC, Lee missed three games with a hamstring strain as a rookie, and all of OTAs/minicamp this offseason with an ailing knee. "I know there’s a lot of questions and things like that, but I don’t have a doubt with Marqise," Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said on Thursday. "I really like what I’ve seen in him and his approach."
Jul 31 - 1:35 AM

Jaguars RE Chris Clemons did not report for the first day of training camp.

Coach Gus Bradley insisted Clemons was dealing with a personal issue. But this is a guy that skipped the voluntary portion of the offseason, presumably to protest his contract. "My hope is we can work through this. I talked to him last night and again this morning. Hopefully we can come up with a decision to speed this up a little quicker. I don’t see this as a situation that’s extended. ... We’re sensitive toward [it being a personal issue], but we also need some urgency," Bradley said.
Jul 30 - 12:35 PM

Jaguars placed RB Storm Johnson on the active/NFI list.

Johnson missed some OTAs due to a back injury, but the Jags don't have to disclose the injury that's now keeping him out. It's also possible Johnson reported out of shape and couldn't pass his physical. A seventh-round draft pick in 2014, Johnson is on the roster bubble behind T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson.
Jul 29 - 2:48 PM

Jaguars fifth-round WR Rashad Greene is a favorite for punt return duties.

Incumbent returner Ace Sanders was dumped two weeks ago. Greene's ability to fill a slot role and help a dormant punt return game makes him a great bet to stick on the final roster. He'll battle Tandon Doss and Bryan Walters at camp.
Jul 28 - 7:53 AM

The Jaguars' offense will feature several two-tight end formations.

OC Greg Olson has no intention of putting Julius Thomas in a three-point stance and asking him to hold the edge. That's Marcedes Lewis' job. Olson will instead play to Thomas' strengths, splitting him off the formation to supplement an inexperienced wideout group. Still, Thomas' seventh-round ADP is steep for a player who's put up most of his career stats via red-zone looks from Peyton Manning.
Jul 27 - 7:24 AM

Marqise Lee might sit out practices early in training camp to manage his balky knee.

Lee missed the entire offseason program and finds himself as the No. 3 wideout behind Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns. He's expected to be cleared for training camp, but will have his reps managed.
Jul 23 - 9:16 AM

Marqise Lee (knee) is expected to be ready for the start training camp.

Lee was held out of minicamp and most of the offseason program due to a knee issue. The Jaguars will limit his reps, but he should be close to fully healthy. Lee enters camp as the No. 3 receiver behind Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns.
Jul 22 - 4:41 PM

Jaguars running backs coach Kelly Skipper said the "impressive thing" about T.J. Yeldon is that he "picked up the offense quickly."

Running back is the easiest position for a rookie to learn, especially for one coming out of Alabama's pro-style NFL factory. It's still encouraging to hear a coach talk up a rookie's knowledge of the playbook. Yeldon is going to start Week 1 and will secure a majority of three-down work with a solid camp. Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart have been moved to the background.
