Jaguars selected Florida State CB Jalen Ramsey with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 draft.

Ramsey (6'1/209) made 41 starts in three years at FSU, logging 15.5 career tackles for loss, 26 pass breakups, and three INTs. He earned second-team All-America in 2015, yielding just a 38.5% completion rate on throws into his coverage. Ramsey doubles as a track and field star and predictably blew up the Combine, running 4.41 with a 41 1/2-inch vertical and 11-foot-3 broad jump. Ramsey wasn't a dominant ballhawk in the ACC, but he offers an ideal blend of size, athleticism, and cover skills to become a high-end NFL starter at outside corner or free safety. In Gus Bradley's defense, Ramsey will almost certainly start out as a press-man corner, competing for snaps with Prince Amukamara and Davon House.

ESPN's Ed Werder indicated on SportsCenter that the Cowboys' pick at No. 4 will come down to either Jalen Ramsey or Ezekiel Elliott.

As you've probably read on this website before, it's rumored Dallas' personnel department has Ramsey No. 1 on the team's draft board, while owner Jerry Jones and coach Jason Garrett are pulling for Elliott at the No. 4 pick. The Cowboys are expected to draft Ramsey if he's available, but there are indications San Diego is seriously debating selecting Ramsey at No. 3. Ohio State DE Joey Bosa is no longer seen as a likely consideration for the Cowboys.

Reporting live from Chargers headquarters, NFL Network's Jeff Chadiha said he thinks San Diego will draft Jalen Ramsey at No. 3 overall.

It seemed clear Chadiha was guessing, but he is at the team facility and presumably having conversations with team officials. Ramsey hasn't been a particularly common pick for San Diego in mock drafts. Most have projected DeForest Buckner or Ronnie Stanley to the Chargers at 3. If the Bolts do go with Ramsey, the tea leaves suggest Ezekiel Elliott would land in Dallas. The Cowboys are rumored to have Zeke above Joey Bosa on their board.

TMZ.com reports suspended Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon pleaded guilty to driving under the influence on Wednesday.

He was arrested last December. TMZ reports Blackmon is now facing prison time and will be sentenced in June. Suspended indefinitely by the NFL, Blackmon is believed to have given up any hope of returning to the league, letting his body go and unable to kick his addiction. Blackmon turned 26 in January.

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah is "hearing" the Cowboys prefer Florida State CB/S Jalen Ramsey with the No. 4 overall pick.

Asked on Twitter to mock either Ohio State DE Joey Bosa or Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott for the Cowboys, Jeremiah responded, "Hearing Ramsey." Jeremiah doesn't typically break any major news, but he does have inside connections after working in the league as a scout. The Cowboys have long been connected to Ramsey, and coach Jason Garrett raved about him two days ago.

The Dallas Morning News' David Moore believes the Cowboys would select Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey over Ohio State DE Joey Bosa.

The decision could be made for them if the Chargers nab Ramsey at No. 3, but if he falls Dallas would face a tough choice. Bosa is an excellent player who would fill a huge need at defensive end, but the Cowboys have reportedly soured on him throughout the draft process. Coach Jason Garrett gushed about Ramsey when asked about him Monday, and it feels like he would be the pick if he slips past San Diego. Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott will also be in consideration at No. 4.
Apr 26 - 9:06 AM

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett gushed about Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey.

"He's an impact player at the highest level," Garrett said. "He leaps off the tape." Garrett added Ramsey plays both safety and corner "equally well" and was "highly endorsed by everybody at Florida State." There is a decent chance Ramsey does not get past the Chargers at No. 3, but Dallas would have a tough time passing if he falls to them. The Cowboys are also expected to be interested in Ohio State DE Joey Bosa and RB Ezekiel Elliott.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones does not expect to trade down from No. 4 overall.

Ol' Jer also said the team will abide by the "best player available" mantra. If that's the case, it could be Florida State CB Jalen Ramsey, whom Rotoworld's Josh Norris has sent to the Cowboys in his most recent mock draft.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports trade interest in the Nos. 3 and 4 overall picks has "cooled considerably" since the Rams and Eagles traded up to Nos. 1 and 2, respectively.

The non-quarterbacks remaining atop the draft simply don't have the same appeal. Per RapSheet, "it seems many (teams) are content to stick and pick" at their current draft slots. The favorites to go to San Diego at No. 3 are Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey, Oregon DL DeForest Buckner, and Ole Miss LT Laremy Tunsil. Ramsey, Bosa, and Zeke Elliott are in play for Dallas at No. 4.

Blake Bortles said he is excited to finally get an "extended period" of work with WR Marqise Lee this offseason.

A 2014 second-round pick, Lee has played just 23 games in two seasons and has yet to put together an extended run of health. "It’s been hard to get on the same page and work for an extended period of time, so I’m excited he’s here and he’s healthy," Bortles said. "He’s super talented." Lee is expected to battle 2015 fifth-rounder Rashad Greene for the No. 3 receiver role. If healthy, Lee should be able to win the job.

Jaguars second-year DE Dante Fowler (knee) is participating in voluntary workouts this week.

The No. 3 overall pick in last year's draft is essentially a rookie again after tearing his ACL last May in minicamp. He's just about a year removed from the injury and should be full-go for the entire offseason program.
Apr 20 - 11:54 AM

ESPN Jaguars reporter Mike DiRocco reports sophomore WR Rashad Greene has a chance to seize the No. 3 receiver job this offseason.

Greene's main competition for the job is Marqise Lee, who has not been able to stay healthy through his first two years in the league. Greene is not a dynamic weapon by any stretch, but he would offer a reliable set of hands behind Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns and Julius Thomas. Greene will not be a viable fantasy option even if he wins the job.

Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said he has yet to decide on OT Luke Joeckel's fifth-year option.

"After the draft, I’ll let my mind clear a little bit and talk to Luke a little bit, too," Caldwell said. Joeckel has not done anything on the field to earn the fifth-year tag, and the Jaguars added his likely replacement in Kelvin Beachum. If Caldwell is looking to trade Joeckel, picking up the option could make a deal more difficult. It would be surprising if he decided to activate the fifth year. The deadline to make a decision is May 2.

The Jaguars are unsure if Brandon Linder will move to center this season.

GM Dave Caldwell said last month the team was "trending toward" using Linder at center but now he says the Jags will wait until after the draft to make a decision. If Jacksonville drafts a center, Linder would likely remain at right guard. If they choose a guard, Linder would be the favorite to start at center. Alabama's Ryan Kelly is the only center the Jags have brought in for a pre-draft visit. Linder missed most of 2015 after suffering a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline reports Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey is the top player on the Cowboys' draft board.

Pauline reported the same thing in February, and he says nothing has changed. An elite athlete with the ability to play both safety and corner, it is not a guarantee Ramsey is still on the board when the Cowboys pick at No. 4 overall, with the Titans (No. 1) and the Chargers (No. 3) as legitimate landing spots. Pauline also reports North Dakota State's Carson Wentz is the top quarterback on Dallas' board, and they "continue to be very high" on Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott.
