Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne turned aside 39 shots but took the loss in the Rangers' 4-1 triumph in New York Monday night.

Rinne hasn't lost very much this season. He's now 35-11-3, and has been neck-and-neck with Montreal's Carey Price as the NHL's top goalie. His goals-against average is 2.10 and his save percentage, .923. Needless to say, if you've had Rinne as your fantasy goalie this season, you're lucky.

Veteran forward Matt Cullen scored his seventh goal of the season in the Nashville Predators' 4-1 loss to the Rangers in New York Monday night.

The 38-year-old forward has been on something of a hot streak. He is on a four-game point streak and has registered nine points in his past nine games.
Mar 2 - 11:06 PM

Calle Jarnkrok is a healthy scratch Monday night in Madison Square Garden.

Jarnkrok had dressed for the Preds in their last three games but will be out of the lineup Monday night versus the Rangers. He’s played in 58 games this season and has recorded six goals and nine assists and shouldn’t be owned in any fantasy format right now. Taylor Beck will dress in his place Monday.
Mar 2 - 7:13 PM

Taylor Beck will dress for the Predators Monday night against the Rangers.

Beck hasn’t dressed in game since February 22nd in Buffalo but will get his chance Monday night at Madison Square Garden. He has five goals and 10 points with a minus three rating in 44 games this year and is not relevant fantasy forward. He is just 23-years-old so maybe he can aid a fantasy team in the upcoming years.
Mar 2 - 7:12 PM

Pekka Rinne will start in net for the Predators Monday night at the Rangers.

Rinne will be starting his fourth straight for the Preds Monday and is just 1-3-1 in his past five games. He has still been arguably the best goaltender in the NHL this year along with Carey Price. His 35 wins, 2.07 goals-against-average, and .928 save percentage on the season are all good for second best in the league. He’s only started two games versus the Rangers in his career, so the sample size is small, but he has an impressive 1.44 GAA and .946 save percentage versus them.
Mar 2 - 5:24 PM

Mike Fisher scored a goal in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Detroit.

Fisher scored one of three second period goals for the Predators, but it wasn't enough for them to win the game. The 34-year-old missed a good chunk of the season with an achilles injury but he has been fairly productive since his return. Fisher has 15 goals and 33 points in 42 games this season. He is currently riding a three-game point streak.
Mar 1 - 9:35 AM

Matt Cullen has registered eight points in his last eight games.

The 38-year-old has been quiet for most of the season but he seems to have caught fire down the stretch. He is currently on a three-game point streak, and he is coming off back-to-back two point games. Cullen has never been known as a big-time point producer but he did have several 40-plus point seasons in his career. He has six goals and 19 points in 48 games this season.
Mar 1 - 9:32 AM

Pekka Rinne and the Nashville Predators are still struggling a bit lately, including Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.

Rinne only has one win in his last five starts (1-3-1), as he allowed four goals on 25 shots against the Red Wings. His overall stats are still Vezina-worthy, however, so fantasy owners shouldn't be too worried just yet.
Feb 28 - 6:20 PM

Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber made a big impact on Saturday, even with a 4-3 loss against the Detroit Red Wings.

Weber scored a goal, generated nine SOG, three hits and logged 30:15 TOI. He's been aggressive lately, generating 23 SOG and 17 PIM in his past three games.
Feb 28 - 6:17 PM

Pekka Rinne will likely start in goal Saturday against the Red Wings.

Rinne suffered a rare home loss Thursday night against the Wild and actually only has one regulation time win in his last four starts. Just a little blip on what has been an amazing season to date. Make sure you have Rinne active early as the game against Detroit starts at 3:00 pm EST.
Feb 28 - 1:37 PM

Anton Volchenkov (lower body) skated with his teammates Thursday.

"He's been back on the ice for a couple days, so he's another that's day-to-day," coach Peter Laviolette said. "Anytime you get guys back practicing on the ice means they're getting close." He has sat out seven straight games with a lower-body injury.
Feb 27 - 11:48 AM

Craig Smith tallied his 20th goal in Thursday's loss to Minnesota.

Smith has been red hot of late with six goals and eight points in his last seven outings. There's a good chance he'll surpass the 24 goals he scored last season, but he's unlikely to reach the 50-point mark like he did in 2013-14.
Feb 27 - 11:42 AM

Ryan Ellis returned to action Thursday after missing 21 games with a lower-body injury.

He was limited to just 11:29 of ice time in Nashville's 4-2 loss to Minnesota. "I don't think it was my best game by far," Ellis said. "But you can't expect to get too much ice time (right away). It's a little bit of a feeling-out process." His return bumped Victor Bartley into the press box.
Feb 27 - 11:36 AM

Pekka Rinne allowed three goals on 29 shots in Nashville's 4-2 loss to Minnesota on Thursday night, his third loss in the past four games.

Rinne's 1-2-1 record over the past four games classifies as a mini-slump for his standards, but it's nothing to be worried about. He is 6-2-1 in his past eight games and has allowed more than two goals only twice in that span, including Thursday night. He is still a sure bet with a 35-9-3 record, .930 save percentage and 2.03 goals against average.
Feb 27 - 12:37 AM

Mike Fisher pitched in a goal and an assist in Thursday night's 4-2 loss to Minnesota.

The 34-year-old now has 14 goals and 32 points in 41 games this season and four points in his past four games played. The Preds will try to get back on track on Saturday versus the Detroit Red Wings.
