Arizona has released Lane Pederson.

He is expected to return to Swift Current of the WHL. The undrafted 19-year-old split the 2015-16 campaign between Red Deer and Swift Current, while producing 55 points in 72 games.

Cam Dineen has been assigned to the North Bay Battalion of the OHL.

The third-round pick of the Coyotes in the 2016 NHL Draft had 13 goals and 59 points in 68 games with the Battalion last season. Fellow defenseman Kyle Capobianco was also sent back to his junior team, the Sudbury Wolves.

Riley Bruce has been assigned to North Bay of the OHL.

He recorded 11 points and 52 penalty minutes in 52 games with the Battalion last season. Dillon Dube (Kelowna) and Eetu Tuulola (Everett) were returned to their junior teams as well.

Mikkel Aagaard has been assigned to the AHL by Calgary.

The Flames sent down eight players to Stockton, inclduing Aagaard. Mike Angelidis, Matt Bailey, Jamie Devane, Stepan Falkovsky, Keegan Kanzig, Mason McDonald, and Brett Pollock were also cut from the training camp roster on Wednesday.

Dmitry Sokolov has been returned to Sudbury of the OHL.

He produced 30 goals and 52 points in 68 games with the Wolves last season. Sokolov was selected in the seventh round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Wild.

Minnesota has released Nolan Zajac, Parker Bowles and Alex Petan from their tryouts.

The trio is expected try out for Iowa in the AHL now. Nolan is the younger brother of New Jersey's Travis Zajac. The 24-year-old defenseman had 20 points in 41 games for the University of Denver last season.

Samuel Girard has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Nashville.

He racked up 74 points, including 64 assists, in 67 games with the QMJHL's Shawinigan Cataractes last season. Girard was a second-round pick of the Predators in 2016.

Kyle Quincey has agreed to a one-year contract worth $1,250,000.

In 47 games with Detroit last season, he collected 11 points, 49 hits and 62 blocks. Quincey will be a depth player for the Devils in 2016-17, but he did get a one-way deal.

Logan Brown has been returned to the OHL's Windsor Spitfires.

Ottawa also sent Maxime Lajoie (Swift Current) and Filip Chlapik (Charlottetown) to their respective junior clubs. The Senators have 48 players remaining at camp (five goaltenders, 16 defensemen and 27 forwards).

Connor Hall has been assigned to Kitchener of the OHL.

Hall appeared in 39 games with the Rangers last season and was taken in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Penguins.

James McEwan and Brandon Crawley have been released from their amateur tryouts by Pittsburgh.

McEwan is slated to play for the OHL's Guelph Storm this season, while Crawley will dress on the back end for the London Knights.
