The Buffalo Sabres have selected Rasmus Asplund with the 33rd pick of the 2016 Draft.

The Sabres get a solid two-way center as well as a leader in Asplund. The Swedish center has been part of junior national teams for five seasons and has played the last two seasons with Farjestads of the Swedish Elite League. Asplund has only six goals and 15 points in 81 games over two seasons with the squad but you can't expect a lot from a 17 or 18-year-old in a tough league like the SEL. He'll likely end up as a third line center in the NHL so his fantasy value will be limited but he will be a valued member of the Sabres.

The Florida Panthers have traded Dmitry Kulikov to the Buffalo Sabres for Mark Pysyk.

The Sabres also acquired a second-round pick (No. 33) in the deal, while the Panthers received picks No. 38 and No. 89. Kulikov became an extra piece when the Panthers inked Keith Yandle to a contract. Kulikov becomes a top-four defenseman for the Sabres and should take his offensive game to the next level in Buffalo. Look for a 30 point campaign from the defenseman.

The Edmonton Oilers have selected Tyler Benson with the second pick in the second round.

The left winger was ranked a middle second round pick after a nine goal and 28 point performance in 30 games. He was the first overall selection in the WHL draft a couple of seasons ago so his value has dropped. The Oilers hope he can regain his status as a top player.

Mark Pysyk is heading to Florida as part of the Dmitry Kulikov trade.

The Sabres also get the Panthers second round pick in 2016 while Florida gets the Sabres second (number 38) and their third round selection. Pysyk was selected in the first round, 23rd overall in 2010 but has not really made much of an impact at the NHL level. He is a third pairing blueliner at this time at best, and is not really fantasy-worthy.

Jack Campbell is a member of the Los Angeles Kings' organization now.

He was traded by Dallas to the Kings on Saturday for defenseman Nick Ebert. Campbell split time between the AHL and the ECHL last season. The Stars chose him 11th overall back in 2010 and he still hasn't seen any NHL playing time.

Trevor Lewis has inked a four-year deal with Los Angeles worth $8 million.

The Kings were not able to come to terms with Milan Lucic, so they turned their attention to another pending UFA in Lewis. He notched just eight goals and 16 points in 75 games last season.

The New Jersey Devils acquired Beau Bennett from the Penguins in exchange for the 77th overal pick in the 2016 entry draft.

The Penguins selected defenseman Connor Hall with the pick. Bennett, who was a huge disappointment the last few seasons in Pittsburgh, remains an intriguing project. Devils' GM Ray Shero knows Bennett well as he was involved in drafting him while in Pittsburgh. It will be interesting to see whether New Jersey can coax more than the 12 points (in 33 games) out of Bennett this upcoming season. The Devils have had recent success in reviving the career of Kyle Palmieri.

The New York Rangers have obtained Nick Holden from Colorado in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in 2017.

In 82 games with the Avalanche in 2015-16, Holden generated six goals and 22 points.
