Best XI: Week 26

There was a lot of controversy in the Premier League this weekend between Chelsea not getting calls their way, Jose Mourinho delivering a vintage press conference, and the Southampton – Liverpool match experiencing around 300 poor decisions. The Best XI doesn’t have as much in question as it’s pretty simple, we take the best eleven players that fit under the cap! It was a great Best XI this weekend that features three Manchester City players from the City – Newcastle 5-0 blowout.  Let’s see who else made it.

Best XI

Points

Either teams are getting tired or it’s been quite the unlucky streak, but we have another extremely low scoring week. There were just 206 points scored this week from the Best XI.

Cost

This week the BEST XI cost £ 95.5M*.  The new price of our Best XI (if you were to try to create this team now after the price changes) is £ 123.52M.  That’s a 30.4% increase in price.

*Keep in mind the cost does NOT include any substitutes and is thus 96M instead of 100M, which assumes one might have four £ 1M substitutes.

MVP

This week MVP was David Silva.  It was quite the blowout in Manchester so it was almost bound to be a Manchester City player as the MVP and Silva takes the honors with 29 points.  Yaya Toure was quiet but I wouldn’t take that as a bad sign and feel confident using him going forward.

Formation

Another 3-4-3 this week.

Kieran Trippier remains on top but David Silva and Victor Moses have joined in on the fun.  There have been a lot of consistent guys this season.
