FanDuel Fades: January 11

Welcome to FanDuel Fades where we focus on players that we think you should avoid tonight.  There are just four games tonight so the pickings are naturally slim.

Be sure to check out the list of probable goaltenders below as well.  We'll update it during the afternoon, so please keep that in mind.

Editor's Note: This is your chance to try FanDuel risk free! Sign up today and if you lose your first contest, you’ll be refunded the entry fee up to $10. Play now.

Henrik Zetterberg C (Detroit) - $7,400

Zetterberg has been relatively quiet lately with a goal and two assists in his last eight contests.  Combine that with the fact that Detroit is going up against the formidable Los Angeles Kings tonight and it seems better to looks elsewhere in the short-term

Daniel Sedin LW (Vancouver) - $7,700

For the most part this season, Sedin has proven to be worth that entry price, but he has just one point (a goal) in his last five contests.  This is also a potentially tough game for Vancouver as the Canucks will be up against the red-hot Florida Panthers and will face their former teammate in goaltender Roberto Luongo.

Tomas Tatar RW (Detroit) - $5,100

Normally Tatar has been a decent value proposition this season, but he's gone cold lately.  Over his last 15 games he's recorded just three goals and five points.  Give him enough time and the 25-year-old will heat up again, but for now he's not a great guy to gamble on.

Logan Couture C (San Jose) - $6,700

Couture has been limited to just nine games this season and now that he is healthy, it might take him a bit to get going.  He did register two assists in his return on Dec. 30, but he's been held off the scoresheet in three straight games since then.  It would be best to give him more time to hit his stride before you start grabbing him in daily leagues.

Radim Vrbata RW (Vancouver) - $5,900

Vrbata hasn't exactly had the best of seasons with 10 goals, eight assists, and a minus-13 rating in 40 games.  Things haven't been looking up for him either as he's currently on a six-game point drought.  Vrbata is certainly capable of more than this, but it seems likely that this will go down as a campaign to forget for him.

Petr Mrazek G (Detroit) - $8,700

Mrazek is the fourth most expensive goalie on tonight's list and the third most effective in terms of FanDuel points per game, but you want to avoid taking him tonight.  The reason is simple: Jimmy Howard is scheduled to play.  If that weren't the case, it would be hard to tell you to pass on Mrazek after he allowed just two goals in his last three games.
