FanDuel NBA Plays: Thursday

I’m here to break down tonight’s two-game FanDuel NBA slate starting at 8:00 ET. Keep in mind that this column was created earlier in the day, meaning injury information could change the fantasy landscape throughout the afternoon. Obviously you’ll want to keep track of any developments through Rotoworld’s NBA Headlines & Injuries Feed as we move closer to tip-off.

With that, let’s dive into each position while mining for the best value and overall plays in this slate.

Chris Paul – PG – Houston (FanDuel Price: $10,400)

Russell Westbrook has a tasty matchup tonight, but he’s cumbersome salary makes it difficult to build a confident lineup. Chris Paul has a more reasonable price point while playing in a high-scoring matchup vs Golden State. You better believe the Rockets will lean heavily on CP3 with James Harden out. It’s actually possible to squeeze both Chris Paul and Stephen Curry in the same lineup tonight. We’ll need a few injury situations to break our way – something I’ll explain more throughout this column.

Also Consider: Stephen Curry, Milos Teodosic (if Austin Rivers is out)

Terrance Ferguson – Oklahoma City (FanDuel Price: $3,500)

Andre Roberson is out for Oklahoma City and Alex Abrines is questionable. There’s a good chance Abrines will miss tonight’s game as well (groin strain), but double-check his status to be safe. Terrance Ferguson picked up the start with Roberson/Abrines sidelined yesterday. He ended up posting 36 FP in 32 minutes. We aren’t expecting that level of production, but he would make for a solid bargain prospect considering the brevity of tonight’s two-game slate.

Also Consider: Klay Thompson, Eric Gordon

Gerald Green – Houston (FanDuel Price: $4,100)

You’ll likely want to choose one of Paul George or Kevin Durant tonight. I find myself leaning towards George (due to salary constraints) while taking Curry and Paul at point guard … Gerald Green steps in as a decent SF2 to help fit those studs alongside each other. Green has been solid over the past three games, and he’ll continue to see 25+ minutes with James Harden and Luc Mbah a Moute sidelined. His fantasy-friendly game is much better for DFS purposes than other SF values like PJ Tucker or Wesley Johnson.

Also Consider: Paul George

NOTE: Kevin Durant has been ruled out tonight. This makes the decision at small forward much easier along with rostering Draymond Green and Stephen Curry with confidence. Andre Iguodala is now an acceptable SF value akin to Gerald Green.

Ryan Anderson – Houston (FanDuel Price: $4,300)

This makes three of four write-ups featuring players from Houston. That’s the reality of tonight’s abbreviated slate. Also, James Harden’s absence creates a massive usage void in the Rockets’ offense, where role players like Anderson and company can pick up the slack. Anderson should see more shot opportunities with Harden on the shelf, as displayed with his 12 attempts (28 FP in 29 minutes) yesterday.

Also Consider: Carmelo Anthony, Draymond Green, Jordan Bell

Steven Adams – Oklahoma City (FanDuel Price: $6,500)

I like Clint Capela, but there’s a chance he’ll get squeezed for minutes when Golden State plays small … DeAndre Jordan has lost significant fantasy value since Blake Griffin’s return, and he’s no longer worth the current salary level … That leaves Steven Adams as probably the best “per dollar” choice of this position, even if it comes through process of elimination. As long as Adams stays out of foul trouble, they’ll need his interior presence to counter the Clippers’ frontline. That should lead to solid production in plenty of minutes.

Also Consider: Clint Capela
