I’m here to break down tonight’s five-game FanDuel NBA slate starting at 7:00 ET. Keep in mind that this column was created earlier in the day, meaning injury information could change the fantasy landscape throughout the afternoon. Obviously you’ll want to keep track of any developments through Rotoworld’s NBA Headlines & Injuries Feed as we move closer to tip-off.
With that, let’s dive into each position while mining for the best value and overall plays in this slate.
Dennis Schroder – Atlanta (FanDuel Price: $7,700)
You could look towards Damian Lillard, who is making his return tonight. However, Schroder is significantly cheaper with a better matchup and overall game environment. The Atlanta point guard will be playing up in pace against a Phoenix team that ranks dead last in defensive efficiency vs the position. There’s plenty of fantasy potential within this 218 over/under, and Schroder should pull his weight this evening.
Devin Booker – Phoenix (FanDuel Price: $8,000)
I just mentioned the elite game environment of this Phoenix-Atlanta matchup. Devin Booker stands to benefit while playing at home against a Hawks’ team that ranks 25th in overall defensive efficiency. Booker has seen a steady allotment of minutes since returning from injury, leading to 41+ FP in two of the past three. Those nice fantasy outings came despite some below-average shooting nights, so there’s upside beyond that if the field goal percentage normalizes.
LeBron James – Cleveland (FanDuel Price: $11,500)
LeBron James should be a cash game fixture for your FanDuel lineups tonight. He’s the only top-tier superstar on this slate, facing a Portland team that ranks below average against the small forward position. LeBron’s usage would climb even more if Kevin Love (questionable) was ruled out. However, he’s a solid pick through all formats regardless of that injury situation.
Frank Kaminsky – Charlotte (FanDuel Price: $5,200)
The power forward position is somewhat murky on FanDuel, leading me to take a chance on Frank Kaminsky. The Charlotte big man has really picked things up over the past two games, averaging 28 minutes and 35 fantasy points through that span. His increase in playing time has come at the expense of Marvin Williams, which is a trend that could continue against a Sacramento team that ranks 25th vs PFs and 26th in rebound rate.
Tyson Chandler – Phoenix (FanDuel Price: $4,500)
I don’t necessarily love Tyson Chandler tonight, but he’s a decent value filler to help stack the aforementioned players in my lineup. The matchup isn’t too bad either, as Chandler will face an Atlanta team that ranks 25th vs centers and 27th in rebound rate. Don’t expect a ton of upside here, but Chandler should have a chance to meet value around 23+ fantasy points to provide an adequate return.
