Tonight we have an 11-game NBA slate. As I say all the time, I’m a tournament player, and will focus on the tournament plays I like tonight. We only have two games with implied totals under 200 tonight, and I would expect some high scoring games. Let’s dive into my top FanDuel and DraftKings picks for tonight. Darren Collison @ Orlando Magic
The Pacers are on a back-to-back, and that worries me a little but not enough to fade Collison here. The Magic are allowing the third most fantasy points to opposing point guards this season, and just under ten assists to point guards per game. Collison has really played well over the last three games, and I like his chances to keep it going in this matchup. This game has a high-implied total, and has one of the best-projected paces on the slate. With 11-games on the slate tonight, I would expect Collison to be a lower owned option.
Avery Bradley vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Cleveland has quickly turned into one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, and I continue to pick on them every night. I’m not a big fan of Reggie Jackson, but I think Bradley is a high upside play here. He’s scored at least 20 actual points in three of the last four games, and five of the last seven games. Cleveland is allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season. LeBron is turning the ball over 4.7 times per game, which is the third most in the NBA this season. There is upside here for Bradley on the defensive side of things, and it’s just another reason to like him in this matchup.
Evan Fournier vs. Indiana Pacers
I’m going right back to this game, and it’s going to be a game that I target a lot tonight. Shooting guards and shooters have really done well against the Pacers this season, and Fournier is a very unrated talent. He’s averaging 19.2 points per game this season, and he’s been struggling lately. With the west coast trip in the books, and after a tough matchup against Utah, I feel like it’s a great spot to go back to Fournier. Nothing has changed with him, he’s going to have double-digit shot attempts, and he’s going to play over 30 minutes in this matchup tonight. He’s averaging one fantasy point per minute, and he has a 24.6% usage rate this season.
LaMarcus Aldridge vs. Atlanta Hawks
We all have that player that we love to play, and Aldridge is that guy for me. I don’t think people realize how good he’s been this season, and how involved in the offense he is every night. He has a 30.8% usage rate this season, and he’s averaging 1.20 fantasy points per minute. He’s the focal point of the Spurs offense, and until Kawhi comes back, I’m going to keep playing him. The Hawks are struggling with the four this season, and even with Muscala coming back, I don’t expect it to change tonight. With all the great options on the slate, I expect Aldridge to be lower owned tonight.
Nikola Jokic @ Sacramento Kings
There are a lot of great options tonight, but it’s really hard to pass on Jokic against the Kings. The Kings have been awful against centers this season. They’re allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing centers this season, and over two blocks and steals per game to centers. There is no reason not to play Jokic in this matchup. He’s played over 30 minutes in three of the last five games, and he has at least 59 fantasy points in two of the last five games. We saw him dominate Brooklyn earlier this month, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he goes for 60+ fantasy points tonight against the Kings.
