NBA DFS Plays: Tuesday

I’m here to break down tonight’s eight-game FanDuel NBA slate starting at 7:00 ET. Keep in mind that this column was created earlier in the day, meaning injury information could change the fantasy landscape throughout the afternoon. Obviously you’ll want to keep track of any developments through Rotoworld’s NBA Headlines & Injuries Feed as we move closer to tip-off.

With that, let’s dive into each position while mining for the best value and overall plays in this slate.

Editor’s Note: Compete in a live snake draft right now! Drafts take as little as 2 minutes to complete and last just one night. For a limited time, DRAFT is giving Rotoworld readers a FREE entry into a real money draft and a Money-Back Guarantee up to $100! Here's the link

Chris Paul – Houston (FanDuel Price: $8,400)

Chris Paul is probable tonight, set to return from a three-game absence due to a hamstring issue. The situation couldn’t be much better from a fantasy perspective. James Harden has been ruled out tonight, meaning CP3 will be greeted with plenty of usage. The matchup corresponds nicely as well, given that Chicago ranks 22nd in defensive efficiency vs opposing point guards (29th in overall team d-eff). Paul definitely deserves a spot in your FanDuel and DraftKings cash lineups this evening.

Also Consider: Damian Lillard, Yogi Ferrell

Eric Gordon – Houston (FanDuel Price: $5,600)

The price has risen on DraftKings ($7200), but Eric Gordon is still way too cheap on FanDuel. He’s a no-brainer over there, especially with James Harden sitting out tonight. Gordon has averaged 34 FPPG in 34 minutes over the past three games with Chris Paul sidelined. That should represent his baseline with Harden out of the mix, looking at upside for even more. After all, Harden is more aggressive with his shot attempts than Chris Paul. Some of that offensive burden could shift to Gordon.

Also Consider: Nick Young, CJ McCollum, Jrue Holiday

Gerald Green – Houston (FanDuel Price: $3,700)

Three featured plays listed, three members of the Houston Rockets. As you can probably tell, James Harden’s absence sends quite the ripple effect through Houston’s lineup. Gerald Green will arguably be the greatest beneficiary, likely stepping into a full-time role of 32-36 minutes. He owns a fantasy-friendly profile with a “scorer’s mentality” that should provide a nice return on investment on FanDuel and DraftKings.

Also Consider: Harrison Barnes, Giannis Antetokounmpo, David Nwaba (if Valentine out)

James Johnson – Miami (FanDuel Price: $5,800)

Hassan Whiteside will continue to miss time. On top of that, Bam Adebayo has been ruled out for this matchup. That leaves James Johnson and Kelly Olynyk to hold down the frontcourt for Miami. I like both of them tonight on FanDuel and DraftKings. Johnson is cheaper with similar upside to Olynyk, especially considering they both have a clear path to minutes. It helps that their opponent, Cleveland, ranks 27th vs opposing power forwards and 23rd in rebound rate.

UPDATE: Draymond Green & Omri Casspi are doubtful. Jordan Bell now makes for a nice power forward value through all formats.

Also Consider: Kelly Olynyk, Cheick Diallo (if Mirotic out)

DeAndre Jordan – LA Clippers (FanDuel Price: $8,000)

Jordan has notched back-to-back subpar performances at Indiana and Toronto. Don’t let that dissuade you tonight. This is an excellent bounce-back opportunity against a Milwaukee team that ranks 29th vs opposing centers and 29th in rebound rate. In fact, DJ posted 50 fantasy points against the Bucks last week. Tonight’s draw is expected to be a competitive home matchup for the Clippers, and Jordan has extreme breakout potential within that.

Also Consider: Nikola Jokic, Jusuf Nurkic (tournaments)
