NHL Plays will look at some players to consider adding while building your lineups. Remember to check back on this page later in the day for confirmations on starting goalies and keep an eye on Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for all your fantasy hockey needs.

Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UT).

Pittsburgh and Buffalo will the first game of their home-and-home set on Friday night. Carolina, Anaheim, Columbus, San Jose, Florida, St. Louis and New Jersey will play the first matches of their respective back-to-back situations, while Vegas and Los Angeles will play the second half of their back-to-back sets.

Sidney Crosby (PIT) - C - $8,600 (FanDuel), $7,700 (DraftKings)

Crosby doesn’t come cheap for Friday night’s slate, but he has four goals and five helpers over a four-game point streak and he has a great matchup against Buffalo. The Penguins captain had a goal and an assist against the Sabres on Nov. 14 along with five shots. Crosby has also enjoyed great success versus Buffalo in his career with a whopping 53 points (17 goals, 36 assists) in 35 games.

Mathew Barzal (NYI) - C - $5,100 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings)

Barzal has plenty of value play potential, especially on FanDuel, for Friday night. He will enter New York’s home contest against Ottawa with three goals and seven assists during a seven-game point streak. Barzal earned an assist and two shots in a 2-1 win over the Senators on Nov. 25, but his ceiling is higher than that. He has averaged more fantasy points per game on FanDuel and DraftKings than he had in that match. Barzal could make for a strong stack play alongside Jordan Eberle, who is $6,100 on FanDuel and $4,900 on DraftKings.

Taylor Hall (NJD) - W - $7,200 (FanDuel), $7,400 (DraftKings)

Hall is another high-priced option with excellent upside. He opened the 2017-18 campaign with one assist and seven shots on goal against Colorado back on Oct. 7 in a 4-1 Devils’ victory. Hall has accumulated 14 goals and 28 points in 25 career meetings versus the Avalanche.  He also finished November with two goals and three assists in three outings thanks to a pair of multi-point performances.

Jaden Schwartz (STL) - W - $7,000 (FanDuel), $6,500 (DraftKings)

Schwartz had six shots and no points on Wednesday night after he was recommended here, but I don’t have a problem going back to him against a Los Angeles team playing the second game of a back-to-back situation. Schwartz had one goal and one assist versus the Kings on Oct. 30 and he's still moderately priced given the season he has had so far.

Chris Kreider (NYR) - W - $5,600 (FanDuel), $6,200 (DraftKings)

Kreider checks in as a great bargain for FanDuel and he should garner interest on DraftKings as well. The loss of Mika Zibanejad didn’t slow down Kreider at all on Tuesday night. He notched two goals and one assist in a 5-4 loss to Florida. Kreider amassed seven goals and 10 points in 12 games during November, including five markers and three assists in his last seven appearances. He also had two goals versus Carolina in a 6-1 win for the Rangers on Nov. 22 and he has scored five times, with one assist, in his last four matches against the Hurricanes.

Jake Guentzel (PIT) - W - $6,300 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings)

Guetzel and Phil Kessel could have Evgeni Malkin back on their line for Friday’s tilt against Buffalo, but even if Malkin isn’t ready to go there is plenty to like about their chances for further production. Kessel has collected three goals and five assists over a four-game point streak, while Guentzel finished a strong November with seven goals and one assist in seven contests.

Justin Schultz (PIT) - D - $4,300 (FanDuel), $4,000 (DraftKings)

Schultz could be a superb under-the-radar radar roster addition on Friday night. He worked with Pittsburgh’s top power-play unit at Thursday’s practice and he has generated five assists over a three-game point streak. Schultz has earned two helpers in each of his last two outings. He also has seven points (two goals, five assists) in 10 games versus Buffalo in his career.

Jaroslav Halak (NYI) - G - $7,300 (FanDuel), $7,600 (DraftKings)

Halak or Thomas Greiss could work here depending on who gets the start. They are both the same the price on DraftKings and Greiss is just $200 more on FanDuel. Halak has posted two wins in the last two games for the Islanders, while stopping 54 of 57 shots. He turned aside 31 shots in a 2-1 win against the struggling Senators on Nov. 25. Ottawa has scored two goals or less for seven straight games during their current losing streak.

UPDATE: Greiss will start
