NHL Plays will look at some players to consider adding while building your lineups. Remember to check back on this page later in the day for confirmations on starting goalies and keep an eye on Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for all your fantasy hockey needs.
Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UT).
Max Pacioretty (MON) – W - $7,200 FanDuel, $6,100 DraftKings
Pacioretty has been having a pretty rough season, but he seems to have turned a corner lately. Over his last six contests he’s scored six goals and seven points in six games. This is his third contest in the span of four days so fatigue is a concern, but at the same time, momentum might work in his favor given that he’s coming off a three-point contest.
Patrice Bergeron (BOS) – C - $7,900 FanDuel, $7,400 DraftKings
Bergeron had a hat trick in his last contest, but he’s also been very effect since the start of the new year. Dating back to then, he’s scored an incredible eight goals and 13 points in his last seven contests. He’s also only been held off the scoresheet once in that span.
Alex Pietrangelo (STL) – D - $6,000 FanDuel, $6,800 DraftKings
Pietrangelo is a bigger bargain in FanDuel, but he’s worth considering in either format. He’s on a four-game point streak and he’s just having a strong campaign overall with eight goals and 32 points in 44 games.
Jonathan Huberdeau (FLA) – W - $7,000 FanDuel, $6,700 DraftKings
While Huberdeau is playing in his second game in as many days, he’s also red hot. Over his last 10 games, he’s accounted for seven goals and 13 points. He’s also on a six-game point streak going into Saturday’s action.
Brent Burns (SJS) – D - $7,300 FanDuel, $7,200 DraftKings
Burns got off to a sluggish start this season, but that’s well behind him at this point. If you look at Burns’ last 25 games, then he’s scored seven goals and 28 points. He’s also done really well recently with 10 points in his last eight contests.
Mathew Barzal (NYI) – C - $6,300 FanDuel, $6,200 DraftKings
Barzal has typically been a pretty reasonable bet at his current asking price. He’s having an outstanding rookie season and is only a couple games removed from a stretch where he had three goals and 10 points in three contests.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson (ARI) – D - $5,100 FanDuel, $4,500 DraftKings
It’s Ekman-Larsson’s fairly modest price that makes him worthy of consideration. At that level, his eight goals and 22 points in 47 contests aren’t bad and it doesn’t hurt that he’s on a three-game point streak that’s included two goals.
Mikael Granlund (MIN) – W - $7,100 FanDuel, $6,200 DraftKings
Granlund is on a four-game point streak and has only been held off the scoresheet once in his last six contests. He has two goals and nine points over that six-game span.
Sidney Crosby (PIT) – C - $8,900 FanDuel, $7,000 DraftKings
Crosby’s one of the hottest players in the league right now with three goals and 14 points in his last six contests. That makes him worth gambling on even at that high asking price.
Ondrej Palat (TBL) – W - $5,600 FanDuel, $5,300 DraftKings
With eight goals and 30 points in 45 contests this season, Palat has put up decent numbers for his modest price. He’s also on a four-game point streak that’s included a goal and four assists.
