NHL Plays will look at some players to consider adding while building your lineups. Remember to check back on this page later in the day for confirmations on starting goalies and keep an eye on Rotoworld’s daily blurbs for all your fantasy hockey needs.
Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UT).

Mike Smith G (Calgary) - $8,400 FanDuel, $7,800 DraftKings
At the time I wrote this, Smith was the only number one goalie playing after the early game (which we don’t count). Smith is 7-5-0 with a 2.19 GAA and a .936 save percentage and while he is facing a surprisingly good New Jersey team, the young Devils are finishing up a long sojourn to Western Canada and could be spent.
T.J. Brodie D (Calgary) - $4,800 FanDuel, $4,900 DraftKings
Brodie leads all Calgary defensemen with nine points in 13 games and broke out of a four game pointless skid last game with an assist Thursday against Pittsburgh. Brodie had a huge opening night with two goals and four points and is due for another breakout game shortly. A better bargin in FanDuel than DraftKings.
Cody Franson D (Chicago) - $3,500 FanDuel, $3,300 DraftKings
You are going to need a cheap player or two in your lineup and I like Cody Franson in this spot. He plays with Duncan Keith on the first unit and sees power play time with the second group including Patrick Sharp, Jonathan Toews, Richard Panik and Brandon Saad. Franson has three assists in five games and saw over 20 minutes of action Saturday for the first time this season.
John Tavares C (New York Islanders) - $8,600 FanDuel, $8,100 DraftKings
No one in the NHL is hotter than Tavares at this time as he has 10 goals and 14 points in his last six games. That is a huge pace to be on and that’s why you play Tavares in your daily fantasy lineup until he proves otherwise.
Taylor Hall W (New Jersey) - $7,700 FanDuel, $7,600 DraftKings
Hall is scoring at a pace the Devils imagined when they dealt for him in the 2016 off-season. He has only four goals but has 16 points in 12 games to lead the Devils attack. He plays his former rivals from his Edmonton days, the Calgary Flames and he could have a big game Sunday.
Anders Lee W (New York Islanders) - $6,500 FanDuel, $6,000 DraftKings
Lee could be said to be riding on the coattails of center John Tavares but Lee did score 34 goals last season and is off to a great start once again in 2017-18 as he has eight goals and 15 points in 13 games. I like to take whole lines when playing fantasy as you can live or die with the line so this makes for a good combination along with Tavares. Josh Bailey is the other member of the trio and it would not hurt to take him as well.
