Taijuan Walker – Toronto Blue Jays (vs. New York Yankees) Yahoo $36 FD $7800 DK $7900
Walker has held the Yankees to a .217 team batting average with 12 strikeouts over 58 at bats. Walker has looked very solid and just faced the Yankees in his last start. I do like to avoid investing in pitchers facing the same team two starts in a row but tonight I might break that rule. Walker has averaged 15.0 DK points over his last eight games. His 2.95 ERA is impressive. This is a GPP matchup. Hat does that mean? It means, invest in both sides. The Yankees could very well adjust to Walker this time around and in Yankee stadium, that could be a problem for Walker. The Yankee should be rostered by many, so let’s pivot to the hedge in Taijuan Walker.

Jonah Heim - Oakland A’s (vs. Antonio Senzatela) Yahoo $12 FD $2900 DK $4100
The highest over/under on the slate is 11.5 which is in the Colorado vs. Oakland game. Oakland is currently favored -167. The A’s have scored at least nine runs in each of their last three wins. In their last three losses, they’re only scoring an average of 3.3 runs per game. So, let’s say the A’s are an inconsistent investment with serious upside. They face Antonio Senzatela. Senzatela is on my list of GPP pitchers making this a GPP matchup. I don’t mind taking a chance on Senzatela but an Oakland stack looks very juicy. Have multiple angels of this game! Jonah Heim has been solid. He’s averaging 5.6 DK points over his last 28 at bats. He’s had RBI in each of his last three games, batting .292 this season. If Sean Murphy ends up starting he’s a fine play as well. If the A’s score 9 + (which they have been doing in their wins), Sean Murphy or Jonah Heim will see RBI opportunities at valuable salaries. Can they produce? I think so. An A’s stack will be popular due to their 10.5 under/over but by investing in their back end players, a chalky stack can get a little less chalky, possibly even contrarian.
Paul Goldschmidt - St. Louis Cardinals (vs. Brett Anderson) Yahoo $18 FD $3600 DK $4800
Goldy currently has a .533 batting average with two home runs in 18 at bats against Anderson. Anderson allowed four earned in each of his last two starts. He has yet to face St. Louis this season but in 40 career at bats against the Cardinals, he’s allowing a .425 batting average. Although I like Goldy, this is another situation where both sides are viable. I wouldn’t stack the Cardinals but investing in Goldschmidt as a one off and hedging with 10% exposure to Brett Anderson seems like the smart play to me. The Cardinals are favored by -148 with an 8.5 under/over.
Tommy La Stella - Los Angeles Angels (vs. Antonio Senzatela) Yahoo $21 FD $3600 DK $5000
Back to this A’s stack. If you decide to eat the chalk and roster the A’s one thru four batters, La Stella is a fine play. Oakland’s lead off man is batting .306 in his last 36 at bats. With two doubles and one home run in that span, the long ball is not what I’m expecting from La Stella tonight. I am expecting him to hit for average, lead the team in runs and potentially get some RBI. La Stella is averaging 8.8 DK points over his last 10 games and has hits in each of his last four games. Look for the A’s to perform well tonight at popular roster percentages.
Other 2B Play: D.J. LeMahieu - New York Yankees (vs. Taijuan Walker)
Yoan Moncada - Chicago White Sox (vs. Randy Dobnak) Yahoo $13 FD $3500 DK $5200
The White Sox as a whole show very impressive numbers against Dobnak (although in small sample sizes). The Sox are batting .348 in 45 at bats against Dobnak. The Twins right hander has had series issues in two of his last three starts. His control has been inconsistent and he’s totaled negative fantasy points against St. Louis is his last start and Detroit three starts back. Today he sees a White Sox team that has won nine of their last ten totaling 70 runs over that span. The White Sox are my top stack tonight. Yoan Moncada is 2 for 3 against Dobnak with a single, a double and a walk. The White Sox are on fire, invest in them and make sure to roster their big name hitters as they could be in store for slate breaking performances tonight! The White Sox are favored by -129 with a 9 under/over.
Tim Anderson - Chicago White Sox (vs. Randy Dobnak) Yahoo $21 FD $4000 DK $7300
Anderson has been very impressive as of late. He has nine total hits over his last three and is averaging 13.6 DK points per game over that three game span. I’ve made it clear that I love the White Sox tonight and Anderson is a must play within this stack. He will be leading off and carries a high floor with a solid ceiling. If stacking the White Sox, please do not forget to include Tim Anderson.
Ryan Braun - Milwaukee Brewers (vs. Jack Flaherty) Yahoo $11 FD $2900 DK $3600
Braun is batting .438 with three home runs over just 18 at bats in his career against Flaherty. Milwaukee's outfielder has a .267 batting average with two home runs over his last ten games. Not great but not bad either - Struggling slightly over his last three games, I expect Braun to get back on track with a homerun in this one. Flaherty has allowed a 5.87 ERA in the month of September. Braun is a solid one off tonight at reasonable salaries.
Other OF Play: Eloy Jimenez - Chicago White Sox (vs. Randy Dobak)
