NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are five games in the NHL on Monday.

Forwards

Jack Eichel (Buffalo) - C - $8,400 (FanDuel), $8,200 (DraftKings), $32 (Yahoo)

There are not a lot of great picks at center on Monday so go with the best of the bunch. Eichel is having an outstanding campaign with 16 goals and 35 points in 27 games thus far and that places him in seventh place in NHL scoring. It seems like a no-brainer to take Eichel.

David Perron (St. Louis) – W - $6,700 (FanDuel), $6,100 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Perron is on a seven-game points streak in which he has three goals and eight points.  He leads the Blues with 27 points in 28 games and that includes 11 goals. Perron plays alongside Ryan O’Reilly and Zach Sanford on the second line and gets first power play time.

Ivan Barbashev (St. Louis) - W - $3,500 (FanDuel), $5,600(DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo)

Barbashev has been very hot of late as he has a three-game scoring streak in which he scored twice and added four assists. This looks to be a good spot for the Blues winger.

Bargain Bin:  Anthony Beauvillier (New York Islanders) - W - $5,300 (FanDuel)/$5,300 (DraftKings)/ $ 16 (Yahoo) ,  Robby Fabbri (Detroit) - W - $3,700 (FanDuel)/$3,700 (DraftKings)/ $10 (Yahoo)  Paul Stastny (Vegas) – C - $4,500 (FanDuel)/$4,800 (DraftKings), $ 15 (Yahoo),

Defensemen:

Rasmus Ristolainen (Buffalo) - $4,900 (FanDuel), $4,900 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)

Ristolainen has taken over quarterbacking the Buffalo power play now that Rasmus Dahlin is out indefinitely with a concussion. Ristolainen has only two goals and 10 points in 27 games this season but had a goal and an assist in two games against Toronto following the Thanksgiving holiday.

Erik Gustafsson (Chicago) - $4,500 (FanDuel), $4,300 (DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo)

Gustafsson has struggled this season with only three goals and nine points in 25 games but he had 60 points last season and does have three goals and five points in his last nine games.

Bargain Bin:

Adam Fox (New York Rangers) - $4,400 (FanDuel)/$3,900 (DraftKings)/ $18 (Yahoo) Devon Toews (New York Islanders) - $4,200 (FanDuel), $3,400 (DraftKings), $14 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

Semyon Varlamov (New York Islanders) - $7,800 (FanDuel), $8,200 (DraftKings). $37 (Yahoo)

The Islanders are in Detroit to face a Red Wings team that has lost seven in a row and has a minus-53 goal differential. Added to that, Varlamov is 7-3-2 with a 2.50 GAA and a .918 save percentage on an Islander team that has lost only five games in regulation this season.

Bargain Bin:  Linus Ullmark (Buffalo) $7,400 (FanDuel)/$8,100 (DraftKings)/ $26 (Yahoo)
