Updated On: January 13, 2020, 11:01 am ET

NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are five games in the NHL on Monday.

Forwards

Elias Lindholm (Calgary) - C - $6,600 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)

Lindholm hit the 20-goal mark for the second time in his career on the weekend as he is turning into a goal scorer rather than just a playmaker. He has four goals in his last three games and has 36 points in 47 games this season. The Flames play Montreal on Monday and look for another big effort from Lindholm.

David Pastrnak (Boston) – W - $8,800 (FanDuel), $8,400 (DraftKings), $35 (Yahoo)

Pastrnak leads the NHL in goals with 35 and his 65 points in 46 games is fourth-best in the NHL, trailing only Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Nathan MacKinnon. He had a four-game goal scoring streak snapped Saturday as well as a 12-game points streak so look for him to start another one on Monday.

Andrei Svechnikov (Carolina) - W - $6,000 (FanDuel), $6,000(DraftKings), $24 (Yahoo)

The 19-year-old has 18 goals and 42 points in 45 games for the Hurricanes this season. He has a goal and three assists in his last five games and has been a power play star with five goals and 15 points to date.

Bargain Bin:  Erik Haula (Carolina) - C - $4,700 (FanDuel), $4,400 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo), Ilya Kovalchuk (Montreal) – W - $4,100 (FanDuel) $4,300 (DraftKings), $15 (Yahoo), Jake DeBrusk (Boston) – W- $5,900 (FanDuel) $4,300 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo)

Defensemen:

Alex Pietrangelo (St. Louis) - $6,500 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $23 (Yahoo)

Pietrangelo is having the best offensive season in his NHL career that dates back to the 2010-11 season when he first became a regular. He has 12 goals and 37 points this season in 46 games and has two goals and six points in his last five contests.

Dougie Hamilton (Carolina) - $6,200 (FanDuel), $7,000 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo),

Hamilton is having a fabulous season with 14 goals and 40 points in 45 games, as well as a plus-30 rating. It is by far his best season in the NHL and he has two goals and five points in his last seven games.

Bargain Bin:

Torey Krug (Boston) - $5,600 (FanDuel), $5,100 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)

Adam Fox (New York Rangers) - $4,200 (FanDuel), $3,800 (DraftKings), $17 (Yahoo)

Goaltenders:

David Rittich (Calgary) - $7,500 (FanDuel), $8,000 (DraftKings), $30 (Yahoo)

Rittich has struggled of late, giving up 11 goals in his last 133 minutes, but he picked up the win last game in Minnesota and faces a weak Montreal side Monday. He is 18-10-5 this season, so his whole body of work is good.

Bargain Bin:  Henrik Lundqvist (New York Rangers) - $7,300 (FanDuel), $7,500 (DraftKings), $29 (Yahoo)
