WR Notes: Tyreek Hill is practicing in full after appearing to tweak his hamstring in the dying moments of last week’s win over the Dolphins. … Stefon Diggs has reached 10 receptions in three of his past four games. John Brown (ankle) is missing another week. … The Eagles’ Darius Slay plans have crumbled in a spate of disastrous performances of late. Slay has been one of the worst corners in the league over the past month. The Cardinals’ passing attack seemed to be emerging from its coma in Week 14. DeAndre Hopkins has 24 targets over his past two games. … Keenan Allen has double digit targets in 10-of-12 appearances with Justin Herbert. One of the sub-10s was an injury-shortened effort. Allen went 9/103/1 vs. the Raiders last month … is what I had written before learning Allen is a game-time call with his hamstring issue. He will be an uncertain WR2 even if he plays. … Julio Jones (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, making a return appear doubtful. The league leader in air yards over the past month, Calvin Ridley will put Tampa’s Carlton Davis to the test. … A.J. Brown still couldn’t get to 10 targets in Week 14, but he embarrassed the Jags’ nonexistent secondary for his best performance of the year. The Lions offer reprise potential.
Editor's Note: By using the Composite Rankings feature in our exclusive Season Tools, you can see how RotoPat's rankings compare to our other experts and see which WRs he is lower on (Mike Evans) or higher on (Stefon Diggs) this week. Subscribe to EDGE+ PRO now for as low as $7.99/month!
Allen Robinson’s usage has been bulletproof. There are zero questions about his Week 15 floor. Ceiling is still in play vs. the Vikings’ patchwork secondary, but Mitchell Trubisky has little career success against Mike Zimmer’s defense. … Brandon Aiyuk drew a career high 16 targets after Deebo Samuel (hamstring) made it one snap into Week 14. The WR4 by average points over the past five weeks, Aiyuk has reached 75 yards in five straight contests, averaging 99. He will be funneled the ball vs. the Cowboys’ laughably undermanned defense. … Justin Jefferson has a lower floor than you would like for a fantasy semis WR1. He makes up for it with the kind of rare ceiling that can single-handedly win matchups. Jefferson went 8/135 against the Bears in Week 10. … Drew Brees’ (ribs) return would have vaulted Michael Thomas back into the top eight. Thomas has at least eight catches in three of Taysom Hill’s four starts, though they have produced modest PPR finishes of WR21, WR16, WR45 and WR15. This will be the first Hill endeavor where the gunner has to throw from the opening whistle. It could go either way.
Robert Woods’ Week 14 production was limited by the Rams pile driving the Patriots on the ground. That will remain a risk for the fantasy semis. The good news is, whenever Woods is running, it will be free against a packed-in, talentless Jets secondary. … T.Y. Hilton is the WR3 by both average and total half PPR points over the past three weeks. That is thanks in part to the 8/110/1 line he dropped on a Texans Defense two weeks ago that has somehow managed to get even more injured in the interim. Perhaps we are chasing points here. I didn’t chase them in my home league last week and lost. … Terry McLaurin might be one of the only people in Washington rooting for a Dwayne Haskins start. If Alex Smith (calf) gets the all clear against the Seahawks’ improved pass defense, McLaurin’s rank will have to be re-assessed. Smith does not have the ability to find Scary Terry in the money areas of the field. … Cooper Kupp is 80 percent Robert Woods. … Amari Cooper is keeping his baseline afloat. Spiked weeks have been tougher to come by. The 49ers are a middle-of-the-road setup.
D.J. Moore returns from the COVID-19 list after one week on the shelf. That gives Jaire Alexander two potential targets to chase around the boundary. It’s no secret that Robby Anderson has had the better Teddy Bridgewater chemistry. With Curtis Samuel continuing to come on, Moore remains best left on the WR2/3 borderline. … Diontae Johnson’s drops-related Week 14 benching lasted about two quarters before the Steelers got desperate and started shoveling him looks again. The Bengals are a get-right spot for both Johnson and Ben Roethlisberger. … Elsewhere in the Steelers’ receiver corps, JuJu Smith-Schuster’s 9.2 yards per catch against the Bills was his highest in five weeks. Accurately dubbed a “second tight end” by NBC’s Cris Collinsworth, Smith-Schuster got blown away on an interception return by Taron Johnson. … Brandin Cooks didn’t have a big Week 13 against the Colts, but his Week 14 absence vs. Chicago was glaring. Historically, Cooks has not been great at less than 100 percent health. There is still upside in there somewhere, but he needs to be hedged for the fantasy semis. ... It’s Week 15 and we still have zero answers in the Bucs’ receiver corps. The Week 14 variable was the Vikings’ dominance of game flow. Chris Godwin’s targets floor should return against the Falcons. Mike Evans remains a touchdown-or-bust WR3/FLEX.
Tyler Lockett is the WR45 by average half PPR points over the past five weeks. … Corey Davis is one of the big losers any time Ryan Tannehill’s volume is limited. The Lions are another smash spot on the ground after Derrick Henry’s Week 14 Sherman-ing limited Davis to three looks. A concern, but a better one than many of Davis’ WR3 compatriots. … With Henry Ruggs on the COVID-19 list, Nelson Agholor’s WR3 floor is higher than usual vs. a Chargers Defense he got for 2/55/1 in Week 9. … Speaking of the COVID-19 list, it’s where Marquise Brown finds himself after the most unveven of Week 14s. If Brown is merely a close contact and activated before Sunday, the Jags are just begging to give up long touchdowns. … Chase Claypool’s upside hasn’t gone away, but he is losing too many snaps to James Washington to be considered a safe WR2. … Even if DeVante Parker (hamstring) suits up, Lynn Bowden could be a WR3 life hack for the receiver-desperate Dolphins. If you’re wondering about Bowden’s status as a runner, I would slot him into the RB36-40 range. … Rashard Higgins is taking a serious bite out of Jarvis Landry’s apple. … WR4 Jalen Reagor will likely see only 3-4 targets, but his touches can be of the week-winning variety.
