One year after coming up just short, Webb Simpson is favored to get over the finish line this week at the RSM Classic.
The PGA Tour remains in Georgia for the second straight week, as the scene shifts from Augusta to Sea Island for the year's penultimate event. While most years this shapes up as a sleepy tournament with players thinking about Thanksgiving turkey, the field this week has a decidedly different look as it follows the Masters.
Notables Europeans like Tyrrell Hatton, Shane Lowry, Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood are making their tournament debuts, while Jason Day and Louis Oosthuizen both return after lengthy respites, contributing to the strongest field in the event's 11-year history.
But they're all starting the week behind Simpson, who lost last year to Tyler Duncan in a playoff. He also lost in overtime at Sea Island in 2011 and is listed as a +1000 favorite according to oddsmakers at PointsBet Sportsbook. Hatton is next, having missed the cut at the Masters, followed by Augusta National runner-up Sungjae Im.
Here's a look at some of the notable odds for the RSM, where five out of the last six champions have made this their first career win on Tour:
+1000: Webb Simpson
+1800: Tyrrell Hatton
+2000: Sungjae Im
+2200: Tommy Fleetwood
+2500: Russell Henley
+3400: Joaquin Niemann
+5000: Ian Poulter
