While the PGA Tour is off this week for the Thanksgiving holiday, the action on the European Tour rolls right along.
The international circuit stays in South Africa this week, making the trek from Johannesburg to Malelane for this week's Alfred Dunhill Championship. The field includes each of the last two Euro Tour winners, Robert MacIntyre and Joachim B. Hansen, and is headlined by South African Brandon Stone according to oddsmakers at PointsBet Sportsbook.
But Hansen was somewhat overshadowed last week by the tournament's long-hitting runner-up, Wilco Nienaber. The 20-year-old notched his career-best finish last week, finishing two shots behind Hansen while launching one drive after another well beyond the closest competition. Nienaber leads the Euro Tour in driving distance this season at more than 335 yards per shot and padded that advantage last week, thanks in part to a 439-yard drive he hit during the opening round.
Nienaber missed his maiden win last week but will have another chance this week at Leopard Creek, where he's listed at +2000 odds behind only three other players. Here's a look at some of the notable odds via PointsBet, headlined by Stone who won this event in 2016 and finished T-4 last week in Johannesburg:
+1200: Brandon Stone
+1400: Robert MacIntyre
+1600: Christiaan Bezuidenhout
+2000: Wilco Nienaber
+2200: Eddie Pepperell
+2500: Shaun Norris
+2800: George Coetzee
+3000: Matthias Schwab, Joachim Hansen
