LaVine's Ascent Gets An Added Boost

Zach LaVine had the best season of his career in 2019-20 — 25.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.5 spg, 0.5 bpg, 3.1 3s — but those numbers don't tell the entire story.

After a somewhat slow start (by his standards) with 19.5 ppg on 41.0 percent shooting through his first 16 games, LaVine broke out with a career-high 49-point game in November. From that night onward, he averaged 27.7 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.6 spg, 0.5 bpg and 3.4 3s over his final 44 games. And now he has a new coach (Billy Donovan, replacing Jim Boylen) who in theory can only help.

On the latest episode of the Rotoworld Fantasy Basketball Podcast, Steve Alexander joins me to discuss the outlook for LaVine, Lauri Markkanen and Coby White as the Bulls begin the Donovan era, plus more on Tyler Herro after his absurd 37-point game this week. Also: Steve has his shining moment as a Golden Tee legend.
