Post-All-Star Outlook: Gallo and Vlad Jr.

Joey Gallo walked to the plate on Tuesday night in Cleveland and with one swing put himself into consideration for All-Star Game MVP. The 25-year-old has a .275 average with 20 homers, 50 runs, 47 RBI, four stolen bases and 97 strikeouts — numbers that would be even more spectacular had he not missed nearly a month with an oblique injury.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. mashed 91 taters in the Home Run Derby on Monday evening, but aside from a big May (.312 average, six home runs), he's mostly been a fantasy disappointment, hitting .249 overall with eight home runs and 25 RBI in 61 games.

On the latest episode of the Rotoworld Baseball Podcast, Drew Silva and I discuss the outlook going forward for Vlad Jr. (we both take the over on 25 homers), as well as what's ahead for Gallo and a struggling/injured Jake Arrieta.

We also break down a dominant run from All-Star Game MVP Shane Bieber, and consider what's next for struggling Rockies pitchers Kyle Freeland and German Marquez.
