Notes: There were some big names lurking near the top of the board early (McIlroy, Fowler, Rose, Casey, Garcia) on Sunday but it was a trio of long shots (Homa, Dufner, Dahmen) that put their name in the mix down the stretch.

Coming up this week…

AT&T Byron Nelson

Location: Trinity Forest. 7,371 yards, par 71.

Notes: Trinity Forest made its debut on the PGA TOUR last season so gamers have just one year of course form to go on. What we know from 2018 is that you have to make a bunch of birdies and eagles as only one course last season witnessed more par breakers.

Who’s playing? Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Hideki Matsuyama, Aaron Wise, Jimmy Walker, Henrik Stenson, Ryan Palmer, Marc Leishman, Thomas Pieters, Ryan Moore, Rafa Cabrera Bello.

Top 5 at Trinity Forest in 2018

1. (-23, 261) Aaron Wise – 1st PGA TOUR win
2. (-20, 264) Marc Leishman
3. (-19, 265) Branden Grace
3. (-19, 265) J.J. Spaun
3. (-19, 265) Keith Mitchell

Notes: In the 11 last editions of this event, three Australians have lifted the trophy.

5. (-15, 273) David Lipsky (Odds: 33/1)
5. (-15, 273) Mike Lorenzo-Vera (Odds: 35/1)
5. (-15, 273) Jordan Smith (Odds: 25/1)
5. (-15, 273) Ashun Wu (Odds: 175/1)

Notes: A slightly unlikely pair of play-off contenders although plenty of well-fancied and familiar names rounded out the top five.

Coming up this week…

British Masters

Location: Hillside Golf Club, Southport, England. 6,953 yards, par 72.

Notes: A spectacular links layout located a very short hop from Royal Birkdale. Local man Tommy Fleetwood plays host. Make sure to check that weather forecast for wind speeds! The tournament only returned to the schedule five years ago and has been played at different venues around the UK. The previous four were in September/October so there's also been a move in the schedule. Eddie Pepperell won at Walton Heath last year.

Who’s playing? Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Wallace, Tyrrell Hatton, Eddie Pepperell, Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer, Joost Luiten, Tom Lewis, Andy Sullivan, Ross Fisher, Erik van Rooyen, Victor Dubuisson
